The most useful C2000 Gen 2 accessory depends on your priority. Choose the BP2000 Expansion Battery (Gen 2) for longer backup runtime, an XT60i PV connector-to-charging cable when your panels do not include the correct lead, and a solar-panel extension cable when panels must be placed away from the power station. Add a 400W-class solar panel (or a second panel) only after checking the complete array against the station’s electrical limits.
The C2000 Gen 2 is a 2,048Wh LFP power station with 2,400W rated AC output, 4,000W peak power and a maximum 800W photovoltaic input. Its PV input accepts 11–60V and up to 17A. Those limits, rather than the connector shape or a panel’s headline wattage, determine whether an accessory is suitable.
What the C2000 Gen 2 can accept
Start with the station’s documented electrical envelope before buying anything. The C2000 Gen 2 stores 2,048Wh, delivers 2,400W of continuous AC output and can handle up to 4,000W of peak power for short startup surges. Solar input is limited to 800W, 11–60V and 17A. A cable, adapter or panel is useful only when the finished setup stays inside all three PV limits.

These are input limits, not targets that every system must reach. A smaller panel or a lower-current array will work, but it will charge more slowly. Conversely, connecting panels whose voltage or current exceeds a limit can trigger protection or create a hardware-safety problem.

The first accessory to buy: BP2000 Expansion Battery (Gen 2)
What it adds
The documented expansion match is the Anker SOLIX BP2000 Expansion Battery (Gen 2). It adds 2,048Wh, bringing a C2000 Gen 2 system with one battery to 4,096Wh of total capacity. The BP2000 uses LFP cells and is rated for 4,000 cycles. It weighs 15.3kg, so treat it as a second battery cabinet rather than a lightweight add-on.
Compatibility and included connection
The BP2000 Gen 2 user guide lists the C2000 Gen 2, C2000X Gen 2 and C2000 Gen 2 Plus as compatible host models. The battery includes the battery-to-host cable, which is the required link between the expansion unit and the power station. Do not assume that an older battery with a similar name is interchangeable; check the exact generation and host list before ordering.
When it is worth the weight
- Overnight or outage backup: the extra storage lets low-to-medium loads run for substantially longer before recharging.
- High daily energy use: a larger reservoir can absorb solar production during the day and supply loads later.
- Stationary use: the 15.3kg battery and the space needed beside the host make it better for a home, workshop or fixed camp than for frequent carrying.
Plan the physical location as carefully as the electrical connection. Leave room for ventilation, keep the units dry, and consider the temperature range in the storage and charging area. The expansion battery increases stored energy; it does not raise the C2000 Gen 2’s 800W PV ceiling or its AC output rating.

Solar cables: the parts that are often missing
The C2000 Gen 2 guide states that the solar panels, the PV-connector-to-XT60i charging cable and solar-panel extension cables are purchased separately. A bundle that includes AC and car charging leads therefore may still be incomplete for solar use.
XT60i PV connector-to-charging cable
This is the short cable that connects a panel or panel array to the station’s solar input. Select a lead with an XT60i connector at the station end and connectors that match the panel side, commonly the panel’s PV connectors. Verify polarity before plugging in; a connector that physically fits is not proof that its positive and negative conductors are arranged correctly.
An Australia-region Anker guide describes the XT60i input as backward compatible with standard XT60 connectors. The same guide lists 11–28V at up to 8.2A and 28–60V at up to 17A, with 800W maximum input. Compatibility with a standard XT60 plug does not permit exceeding the C2000 Gen 2’s voltage, current or wattage limits.

Solar-panel extension cable
Use an extension when the panels need to sit in a sunny location while the power station remains sheltered. Choose a cable with the correct panel connectors, outdoor-rated insulation and a conductor size suitable for the run. Longer cable increases resistance and voltage drop, especially at high current; the result can be lower charging power or a system that falls out of the useful voltage range. Do not select solely by connector appearance or by the cheapest listed length.

- Measure the route and buy the shortest length that gives safe clearance.
- Confirm the cable’s voltage and current rating exceed the array’s operating values.
- Use weather-resistant, UV-tolerant insulation for exposed sections.
- Keep connectors clean, fully seated and protected from standing water.
Choosing panels for the C2000 Gen 2
A single 400W panel
Anker sells a C2000 Gen 2 configuration with an Anker SOLIX 400W Solar Panel. A 400W panel is comfortably below the station’s 800W input ceiling and is a straightforward choice when you want a same-brand bundle. Actual charging power varies with sunlight, panel temperature, orientation, shading and the panel’s operating voltage and current.
Two 400W-class panels
A second 400W-class panel can use more of the available solar-input capacity, but only if the combined electrical layout remains within 11–60V and 17A. The way panels are wired changes those values: series wiring raises voltage, while parallel wiring raises current. Read the specific panel data sheet and calculate the array’s operating and open-circuit values before buying branch connectors or adapters. A nominal “800W” total is not enough information to prove compatibility.

Third-party panels
For a panel from another manufacturer, compare these details rather than relying on wattage alone:
- Rated operating voltage and open-circuit voltage.
- Operating current and short-circuit current.
- Connector type and polarity.
- Included lead length and whether an XT60i cable is needed.
- Weather resistance and mounting method.
Keep the array’s cold-weather open-circuit voltage in mind. Panel voltage can rise in low temperatures, so a combination that appears safe at room temperature may approach or exceed the 60V ceiling outdoors.

Check the contents list for the exact regional bundle you are buying. Product configurations can differ, while the guide’s solar warning means you should not assume a standard box contains the PV cable or extension leads.

How to assemble a safe solar setup
- List every component. Record each panel’s operating voltage, open-circuit voltage, operating current and short-circuit current, plus the cable and connector types.
- Choose the wiring arrangement. Decide whether panels will be used individually, in series or in parallel. Recalculate voltage and current for the finished arrangement, not for one panel.
- Check the three station limits. Confirm the array is within 11–60V, no more than 17A and no more than 800W under the panel specifications and expected temperature conditions.
- Inspect polarity and connectors. Match positive to positive and negative to negative. Replace damaged seals, bent contacts or loose housings before energizing the system.
- Place and secure the panels. Avoid shade, standing water and trip hazards. Secure panels against wind and keep the power station in a dry, ventilated position.
- Connect with the station input unpowered where practical. Join the panel leads, extension cable and XT60i charging cable firmly, then connect the final plug to the C2000 Gen 2.
- Verify the display. The station should show solar input. If it does not, disconnect and recheck polarity, open-circuit voltage, shading and every intermediate connector.
Do not improvise with bare wires, un rated adapters or a household extension cord on the DC side. If a connector becomes hot, smells of overheated plastic or shows discoloration, stop charging and replace the affected part.
Diagnosing common accessory problems
No solar input appears
- Confirm the panel is in direct sun and not covered by a protective film or heavy shade.
- Check that the XT60i cable is fully inserted and that any panel-side connectors are locked.
- Use a meter or the panel documentation to verify polarity and voltage.
- Remove extension cables temporarily to isolate a damaged or excessively resistive run.
Input power is lower than the panel rating
Panel ratings are laboratory values. Heat, cloud, angle, dirt and cable losses reduce real-world power. If conditions are good, inspect for voltage drop on a long extension and confirm that parallel wiring has not exceeded the 17A input limit and triggered limiting.
The station rejects a panel combination
Separate the panels and test one at a time. If one panel works alone but the combination does not, recalculate series voltage and parallel current, including the panels’ open-circuit and short-circuit figures. A combination that exceeds a limit must be rewired or replaced; an adapter cannot make an electrically incompatible array safe.

The expansion battery is not recognized
Power down as directed in the equipment instructions, reseat the supplied battery-to-host cable at both ends and confirm that the host model is one of the documented compatible units. Do not substitute a cable from an unrelated generation merely because its plugs look similar.
A practical buying order
- Buy the BP2000 Gen 2 first if your main problem is runtime and you can accommodate its size and weight.
- Buy the XT60i PV cable if you already own panels but the bundle did not include the station-side lead.
- Add an extension cable only when panel placement requires distance; keep the run as short and heavy-duty as practical.
- Add a 400W panel or a matched second panel after calculating the complete array’s voltage and current. Keep the 800W ceiling visible when comparing configurations.
For every accessory, verify seller authenticity, generation labeling, connector polarity, electrical ratings, warranty terms and the return policy. A cheaper cable that lacks weather protection or uses an incorrectly wired connector can cost more than a properly specified lead.
