Choose Anime Zero if you want to explore dungeons and fight directly in a fast-paced anime action RPG. Choose Vanguards—the game previously listed as Anime Vanguards—if you prefer summoning, leveling and evolving units in a tower-defense format, including modes designed for playing with friends.
That is a genre-based fit, not a ranking of quality. The available Roblox descriptions do not provide a fair basis for judging fun, balance, grind, monetization, performance or value. Anime Zero also carries an explicit active-development warning, so its features and stability may change.

The two experiences appeal to different kinds of decisions. Anime Zero asks you to move through a dungeon and participate in the action. Vanguards asks you to build a team of units and improve that team over time. The official Roblox description from creator LY* calls Anime Zero an “immersive anime dungeon crawler RPG.” It specifically combines deep exploration, fast-paced combat and multiple game modes. Those terms establish the intended structure: exploration is a central activity, and combat is something the player participates in directly rather than merely watching units resolve a battle.

The description does not identify a particular control scheme, camera style, character roster, dungeon count or combat system. It is therefore safer to use “action RPG” as a description of the advertised format, not as a promise of specific abilities, classes or mechanics.
The active-development warning matters
The same official listing includes this warning: “Anime Zero is currently in active development. As a result, you may encounter bugs, performance issues, or incomplete features.” That is the clearest practical caveat for a new player. A feature shown in a current session may be adjusted, temporarily unavailable or unfinished in a later session.
Expectations should match that status. Anime Zero can be a good choice when discovering dungeons and testing direct combat is more important than having a finished, predictable feature set. It is a weaker fit for someone who needs every system to be stable and complete immediately.

- Players who want to move through an environment rather than manage a battle entirely from a roster screen.
- Players who prefer fast reactions and direct participation in fights.
- Players comfortable trying a work-in-progress Roblox experience and reporting or tolerating problems.
None of those points proves that Anime Zero is easier, harder, more rewarding or more technically demanding than Vanguards. They describe the activity the listing promises, not a measured player experience.

Why the name can be confusing
Search results, old bookmarks or community references may still say Anime Vanguards, while the current experience page shows “Vanguards: 2nd Anniversary.” The current page is the appropriate link for starting the experience. The title change alone does not establish a change in gameplay; the current and earlier descriptions both point to summoning, unit progression and multiple modes.
An independent reference page at Anime Zero Wiki also points to the official Anime Zero experience, but it states that it is not affiliated with the developer or Roblox. Treat it as a reference link, not as an official statement about Vanguards or Anime Zero’s roadmap.

Who is likely to enjoy the advertised loop?

A dungeon-crawler label does not tell you whether Anime Zero uses keyboard, controller or touch controls, and a tower-defense label does not tell you how much manual input Vanguards requires. If you want to act, explore and fight
Anime Zero is the logical first test. Its description puts exploration and fast combat at the center, so you can judge quickly whether moving through its spaces and participating in encounters feels appealing. Because the game is explicitly unfinished, a rough edge is not evidence by itself that the genre is a poor fit.

If you want a stable, fully documented product
Neither listing supplies enough information to promise that. Anime Zero’s warning directly lowers certainty about stability. Vanguards has no matching warning in the reviewed description, but the absence of a warning is not proof of a particular frame rate, server quality, update schedule or feature-completeness level.
A practical way to decide without overclaiming

- Use the current official Roblox page. For Anime Zero, verify the creator is LY* at the official experience listing. For Vanguards, verify the current page is created by Kitawari at the current Vanguards listing.
- Read the live description before pressing Play. Roblox experience names, event labels and feature descriptions can change. The current Vanguards page uses “Vanguards: 2nd Anniversary,” even though older references say Anime Vanguards.
- Test the core loop, not a community reputation. In Anime Zero, pay attention to whether exploration and direct combat hold your interest. In Vanguards, pay attention to whether summoning, upgrading and unit-based battles are the decisions you want to make.
- Record limitations separately from preference. A bug or incomplete feature in Anime Zero is consistent with its published warning. It does not prove that Vanguards is objectively superior; it tells you which trade-off you personally accept.

Do not treat a missing detail as a favorable result. “Not stated” means the listing does not answer it. For questions that affect a purchase or a long-term commitment, inspect the in-game menus and current update notes yourself before spending money or time.

Assuming the names describe the same genre
Both titles contain anime branding, but that says little about the activity. Anime Zero is presented as a dungeon-crawler RPG; Vanguards is presented as tower defense built around summoned units. Compare the loops, not the shared theme.

Interpreting “multiple modes” as a content guarantee
Both descriptions mention multiple modes, yet neither lists those modes or explains how different they are. The phrase confirms variety is intended, not how much content is available or how modes are balanced.
Treating the current Vanguards title as a new game without evidence
