To awaken a weapon in Anime Zero, use the Evolution NPC reached through Areas, select the weapon, and meet the requirements shown for it. Community guides describe evolution as the step that unlocks the weapon’s ultimate skill, reported as the fourth skill bound to G. Requirements differ by weapon, so check the in-game list before farming.
How to awaken a weapon in Anime Zero
- Choose the weapon you plan to use. Evolution requirements are weapon-specific, so decide what you want to keep before farming materials.
- Open Areas and find the Evolution NPC. Select the weapon you want to evolve.
- Review its displayed requirements. Use the in-game list as the authority for your weapon; online examples do not constitute a complete or verified recipe list.
- Check the queue screen’s material drop preview. Use it to identify a run or mode that can provide the materials you need.
- Meet the requirements and evolve the weapon. The ultimate skill should then be available as the fourth skill on G, according to current community guides.
For the route to the NPC and the reported ultimate unlock, see the Anime Zero Beginner Guide and Anime Zero Evolution Guide.

What to know about materials and farming
Use the in-game requirement list first
Public community documentation does not cover every weapon with verified recipes, counts, and material locations. Even where a guide gives an example, the selected weapon’s in-game requirements are the safer reference. The evolution guide also reports that the queue screen previews material drop rates; check the live display because game updates may change recipes or drops.

Five-run pity is a community-guide report
The Anime Zero Wiki Editors’ evolution guide, updated October 8, 2026, reports material pity after five consecutive runs without a drop. This is a guide-reported mechanic, not an independently tested result, so confirm whether the current in-game queue display reflects it before planning a farm. Read the guide’s evolution and queue notes.

Examples of reported weapon requirements
These examples illustrate why it is important to inspect each weapon’s own list. They are community-reported details, not a complete recipe catalog.
- Hu Tao / Flame Director: The evolution guide reports Staff of Homa and Ghost as awakening materials. It attributes that recipe to an official patch, but the patch information was not independently verified here; confirm the current in-game requirement.
- Sung Jinwoo / Shadow Monarch: The guide describes a three-stage evolution path involving Shadow Gate materials such as shadow essence, Igris’ crest, shadow’s cloak, and monarch’s blessing. Its notes do not specify exact counts for each stage.
- Sukuna: Sukuna Fingers are reported as a material. The guide also mentions eyes in gameplay footage, so the full recipe is uncertain.
- Lyth: Four Soul Fragments are reported based on gameplay footage.
For these and other weapons, see the guide’s material examples and documentation notes, then compare them with the current NPC requirements.

There is not enough documented evidence to name one weapon as the universal best choice or to rank farming efficiency across weapons. A practical choice is the weapon you intend to use, provided its displayed requirements and the queue preview show a manageable path for you. The progression guide provides broader upgrade-system context.

Community guidance does not describe evolution as a universal raid-entry requirement. Raid entry requirements depend on the current game, so check the raid’s live entry conditions rather than evolving a weapon solely on the assumption that every raid requires it. See Anime Zero Info’s guides.
