Amazon Hub Locker is a pickup location you can select as the delivery destination for an eligible Amazon order. After delivery, Amazon sends instructions for opening the assigned locker or collecting the package; depending on the location, those instructions may use a code, barcode, or the Amazon Shopping app.
What is Amazon Hub Locker?
Amazon Hub Locker is a package pickup service, not a locker product you buy. Instead of having an eligible order delivered to your home, you choose an available Locker location during checkout and collect the package there after Amazon confirms delivery. Amazon describes the service and its pickup process in its Locker help page.
Amazon reported more than 25,000 Locker locations in the United States and more than 750 locations across over 500 U.S. college campuses in an article updated August 13, 2026. Those figures describe the U.S. network at that date, not worldwide availability. About Amazon’s campus Locker update
How does Amazon Locker work?
- Search for a Locker by address or ZIP code, then check the specific location’s directions and opening hours.
- Add the location to your Amazon address book or select it during checkout.
- Check that the Locker appears as a delivery option for your particular order. Eligibility varies by item and destination.
- Wait for Amazon’s delivery confirmation. Follow the message’s location-specific instructions, which may ask you to enter a code, scan a barcode, or use the Amazon Shopping app.
- Pick up the package before the deadline stated in the delivery instructions.
Amazon says you can forward the delivery confirmation email to a friend or family member so they can collect the package using the instructions it contains. The recipient will need access to those instructions. Amazon Locker pickup guidance

How long will Amazon Locker hold my package?
Amazon’s U.S. guidance says a Locker holds a delivered package for three calendar days. If it is not collected during that period, Amazon says it will be returned and refunded. Which orders are eligible for a Locker?
Amazon’s U.S. explainer gives examples of eligible items: less than 10 pounds, smaller than 16 × 12 × 14 inches, and sold or fulfilled by Amazon. These are examples from U.S. guidance, not a universal rule for every country or location. The practical test is whether checkout offers the chosen Locker for the order; Amazon says an ineligible order will not show the Locker option. Amazon’s Locker eligibility guidance

Some delivery options are not available for Locker destinations. Amazon’s Prime delivery help says Amazon Day delivery and release-date delivery are unavailable for Amazon Hub Locker addresses. Other delivery speeds and options depend on the destination and order. Amazon Prime delivery help

Why do pickup instructions differ by Locker?
Amazon uses different kinds of pickup locations and hardware. Its Shipping API documentation describes core lockers with a screen, keypad, and scanner; Odin lockers, which use Bluetooth and an app rather than a screen or scanner; and Dobby installations, which are Odin lockers in apartment complexes. Because equipment and staffing vary, do not assume every location uses the same code-entry process or has the same hours. Use the pickup method and deadline in Amazon’s message for the selected location, and check its hours before traveling.
