Amazon announced two personal-AI gadgets on October 15, 2026: Bee Eclipse, a credit-card-sized puck that magnetically attaches to a phone, and Bee Frontier, a device worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. They can listen to conversations while enabled and turn them into summaries, reminders, to-do lists, follow-up emails, calendar invitations and other insights. The phrase “listens to everything” needs an important qualification: listening is ambient and continuous only while the device is switched on. Amazon says raw audio is processed in real time and deleted rather than stored.
What Amazon Bee Eclipse and Bee Frontier are
Bee is a personal AI system built around dedicated microphones and an always-available capture button. Instead of requiring you to type notes or start a meeting transcription manually, the device monitors conversational context while enabled, then produces useful records and actions from what it hears.
Bee Eclipse
Bee Eclipse is about the size of a credit card and attaches magnetically to the back of a phone. Amazon says it starts at $99.99 and will be available soon; the announcement did not provide a firm release date.
Bee Frontier
Bee Frontier is designed to be worn on the wrist or clipped to clothing. Amazon lists it at $74.99. It has IP67 water resistance, USB-C charging, dual microphones with noise filtering and battery life of up to seven days.

What happens when Bee is enabled
Pressing the device’s button turns listening on or off. While it is enabled, Bee captures conversational context and converts it into several types of output:
- Conversation summaries and recaps
- Suggested to-dos and reminders
- Daily memories and personal insights
- Drafted follow-up emails
- Calendar invitations
- Answers from a personal chat assistant
Bee can connect to Gmail, Google Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, Apple HealthKit, photos, Alexa+ and Amazon.com. The Amazon.com connection can identify products mentioned in a conversation and surface shopping recommendations, but that shopping integration is opt-in.

Does Bee store audio?
Amazon’s published claim is specific: “No audio is ever stored. Audio is processed into insights in real time and deleted after processing.” In other words, the device still handles raw audio while it is active; the claim is that the audio does not remain as a stored recording after processing.

Each Bee has a physical button for turning it on or off, and an LED indicates when it is active. Those controls matter because the devices are intended for ambient listening rather than one-time recordings.

Phone calls require permission
When recording a phone call begins, Bee prompts the user to obtain permission from the other participants each time. That requirement applies specifically to calls; users should also follow local consent and recording laws when capturing in-person conversations.

The choice is mainly about placement and endurance. Eclipse is meant to stay with a phone and has the longer quoted battery life. Frontier is cheaper, wearable and rated for water resistance, but requires more frequent charging. Amazon has not announced Eclipse’s full hardware specification in the launch information.

What Bee Pro adds
Basic Bee use includes conversation summaries, recaps and a 14-day memory window. Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month. Amazon says Pro includes a 30-day trial for new customers and adds the following:
- Unlimited recent summaries
- Alexa+ and Amazon.com integrations
- Third-party integrations
- Suggested to-dos
- Daily memories
- A personal chat assistant
- Templates
- The desktop app
The subscription is therefore important if you want long-term memory, connected services or desktop access rather than only short-term recaps.

What “listens to everything” gets right—and wrong
Bee is an ambient-listening product: when enabled, it is intended to hear the surrounding conversation without requiring a separate recording command for every sentence. That makes it useful for remembering informal discussions, errands, ideas and commitments that people commonly forget to write down.
It is not accurate to say Bee listens constantly regardless of user control. The button determines whether capture is active, and the LED signals that state. Nor does Amazon’s statement mean audio is never handled; it means Amazon says the raw audio is processed in real time and then deleted. Transcripts and generated insights are a separate data category, protected by the device-controlled encryption claim.
Availability, price and privacy checks before buying
- Check Eclipse timing: Amazon announced a “coming soon” release rather than a firm date.
- Check current pricing: $74.99 for Frontier, $99.99 starting price for Eclipse and $11.99 monthly for Bee Pro are Amazon’s October 2026 figures and may change.
- Decide whether you need Pro: The free tier keeps only 14 days of memory and omits several integrations and tools.
- Tell people when capture is active: Use the LED and button controls, and obtain permission for phone-call recording when prompted.
- Review connected accounts: Gmail, calendars, HealthKit, photos, Alexa+ and Amazon.com can expose additional personal context once connected.
Who each model suits
Choose Bee Eclipse if you want phone-centered use
Eclipse is the better fit for someone who keeps a phone nearby, prefers a magnetic attachment and values more than three weeks of quoted battery life. You will need to wait for its retail availability.
Choose Bee Frontier if you want a wearable now
Frontier is the lower-priced option announced for current availability. Its wrist or clothing placement, IP67 rating and noise-filtering microphones suit users who want hands-free capture away from the back of a phone.
Amazon’s launch makes Bee a notable entry in the AI conversation-recorder category, but its practical value depends on whether you are comfortable with enabled ambient listening, connected-account access and the ongoing Bee Pro fee for the full feature set.
