Amazon’s Bee wearable can now turn products mentioned in your conversations into personalized shopping suggestions. After you connect Bee to Amazon.com, items you say you need or intend to buy can appear on the Amazon homepage and in Bee’s mobile and desktop apps. The feature is opt-in, and Amazon says Bee processes raw audio in real time rather than storing it.
What Bee’s shopping feature does
Bee listens for useful context in conversations, such as saying that you need replacement batteries, a particular kitchen tool or a gift for someone. When the device identifies a likely purchase, Bee can create a product recommendation tied to that conversation. Connecting Bee to Amazon.com allows those recommendations to appear on your Amazon homepage as well as inside Bee’s apps.
The purpose is memory assistance rather than automatic purchasing: Bee surfaces an item you mentioned so you can review it and decide whether to buy. Recommendations are personalized to the connected Amazon account, and the Amazon.com connection must be enabled by the user.

Is Bee always listening?
Bee is designed to capture conversations around you, but Amazon says its handling of the recording is different from storing a continuous audio archive. According to Amazon, audio is processed into insights in real time and then deleted; “No audio is ever stored.” Bee says conversations remain private by default and are not accessible to Amazon unless you choose to share them.

Bee’s transcripts and summaries are encrypted with keys created and controlled by your device, according to Amazon and Bee. You can delete transcripts and summaries. These are vendor statements, not results from an independent privacy audit or controlled performance study, so people with sensitive recording requirements should review the current privacy terms and local consent laws before wearing Bee in shared spaces.
