Allianz Assistance UK is not currently selling new annual multi-trip travel insurance policies. Its product page says sales are temporarily paused while it upgrades its offers. Policies bought before 25 September 2025 remain in force until they expire. For existing policyholders, the central suitability check is trip length: the annual policy is described as covering unlimited trips of up to 31 days each, while the February 2024 handbook says a trip longer than 31 days is not covered at all.

Can you buy Allianz annual multi-trip travel insurance now?

No. As of 7 October 2026, Allianz Assistance UK says it has temporarily stopped providing travel-insurance policies while it upgrades its offers. It gives no date for resuming sales and no terms for a future offer. The company says customers who bought an Annual Multi Trip policy before 25 September 2025 remain covered until their policy expires. Allianz Assistance UK’s annual multi-trip page is the place to check for a change in availability.

That means this review is most useful to people assessing an existing policy or deciding what to compare if Allianz resumes sales. The figures below come from Allianz Assistance UK / AWP P&C SA’s February 2024 handbook; they should not be treated as terms for a future relaunched product.

Who is the policy suitable for?

Annual multi-trip cover is designed for people taking multiple trips within one 12-month policy period. Allianz’s product page describes unlimited trips, but each trip must be no longer than 31 days. The February 2024 handbook is unusually clear about the boundary: it says there is no cover for a trip longer than 31 days, including its first 31 days. A traveller planning one longer holiday should not assume the policy will cover the initial part of it.

The handbook also limits eligibility by residence and doctor registration. The insured person’s main home must be in, and they must be registered with a doctor in, the UK, the Channel Islands (Jersey, Guernsey, Sark, Alderney and Herm), or the Isle of Man. Allianz’s current product page says people with pre-existing conditions to declare are not eligible for its Annual Multi Trip policy; the 2024 handbook says claims relating to existing medical conditions are not covered.

If you need cover for a serious medical condition, Allianz points readers to MoneyHelper’s directory of travel-insurance providers for serious medical conditions. That is a referral to a directory, not confirmation that any particular provider will cover an individual condition.

What did Bronze, Silver and Gold cover?

The February 2024 handbook lists three levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The table shows selected headline limits published in that version by Allianz Assistance UK / AWP P&C SA. The policy schedule, exclusions and sub-limits determine what a particular claim could receive; a headline limit is not a guarantee of payment.

Benefit (February 2024 handbook) Bronze Silver Gold
Cancellation or cutting a trip short £1,000 £2,500 £5,000
Emergency medical and associated expenses £2 million £5 million £10 million
Excess £100; £150 for personal liability £75 £50
Personal possessions No cover £1,500, subject to item and valuables sub-limits £2,000, subject to item and valuables sub-limits
Personal liability £1 million £1.5 million £2 million
Missed departure £500 £1,000 £1,500
Legal expenses £5,000 £15,000 £25,000
Personal accident £5,000 £15,000 £20,000
End-supplier failure cover Not included Not included £1,500

These are policy limits from the February 2024 handbook, not a current quote or a promise that a future product will retain the same benefits. The handbook includes additional conditions and section-specific limits. It says the excess applies per insured person, per section and per incident, so more than one excess may matter when a claim involves multiple people or sections. Read the policy information and handbook that matches the policy you hold, including its schedule and any health declaration.

What regions and options were available?

Allianz’s UK product page presents regional choices from Europe to worldwide cover, with worldwide available either including or excluding the USA and Canada. The February 2024 handbook treats Europe, worldwide excluding the USA and Canada, and worldwide including the USA as separate areas. Cover does not apply outside the region chosen. Do not rely on a generic idea of what counts as Europe: check the definition in the exact handbook and schedule for your policy.

The product page also lists optional winter-sports cover. If you plan winter sports, check that the option is included in your policy confirmation and review any activity-specific terms. Availability of an option on the product page does not establish that it was selected on a particular policy.

Is Allianz annual multi-trip insurance worth it?

That depends on your trip pattern and the exact policy terms. For someone taking several trips of 31 days or fewer, annual cover can be convenient, but its value cannot be judged from trip count alone. Compare the annual premium with the cost of separate single-trip policies for your actual itinerary, and check that the limits, region, exclusions and excess fit your needs. The Allianz UK page currently directs customers to obtain a quote but says new policies are paused, so there is no current Allianz price to compare.

  • Trip length: Confirm that every trip fits the 31-day maximum in the wording that applies to your policy.
  • Cancellation: Check the cancellation limit against the non-refundable cost you could lose, and verify how the wording applies it across trips.
  • Medical cover: Compare the emergency-medical and associated-expenses limit and read the rules on existing medical conditions.
  • Destination: Select the appropriate area, particularly if travelling to the USA or Canada.
  • Baggage and valuables: Check whether possessions are covered at your level and inspect item-specific and valuables sub-limits, as well as cash limits in the full wording.
  • Excess: Work out what you would pay yourself for each insured person, section and incident.
  • Activities: Confirm whether optional winter-sports cover is needed and included.

For general background on how annual and single-trip policies differ, Allianz’s travel-insurance FAQ may help, but the page says its advice was last updated on 2 March 2022. Use the policy wording and schedule for the terms that govern a claim.

What is the verdict?

For existing customers, the February 2024 handbook describes a broad set of benefits across Bronze, Silver and Gold, but suitability hinges on the 31-day trip limit, medical-condition exclusions, region selected, and section limits and excesses. For prospective customers, the practical answer is simpler: Allianz Assistance UK says new policies are temporarily unavailable, and it has not announced when sales will restart or what the replacement terms will be.
