For UK travellers who need cover for pre-existing medical conditions, AllClear Gold Plus offers higher listed medical and cancellation limits, and a lower standard excess, than Gold. Whether that makes it worth choosing depends on your medical screening result, trip details and personal quote: the headline limits do not guarantee that every condition is covered or that the policy is the best value for you.
Does AllClear Gold Plus cover pre-existing medical conditions?
AllClear uses medical screening to assess an applicant’s circumstances and price the policy. Declare all relevant conditions and check the resulting quote and policy schedule to confirm what cover applies to you. Cover is not guaranteed for every traveller or condition: AllClear says that combinations of factors such as age, destination, trip length, policy type, and the number and severity of conditions can exceed its underwriting limits.
For an annual multi-trip policy, the selected region applies over the 12-month policy period, but individual trips are subject to duration limits. Check the schedule for both your destination and the maximum permitted length of each trip, as well as the conditions you declared.
What does Gold Plus cover?
The limits below are from AllClear’s UK Options Policy Booklet GP 0825. They are maximums subject to the wording, section terms and exclusions; your schedule and policy choices determine the cover that applies.

AllClear’s current UK product presentation lists £5,000 as Gold Plus cancellation and trip-curtailment cover, and says that cover can be increased to £15,000. The higher amount is not automatic standard cover: check the quote and schedule for the limit you have selected.
How does Gold Plus compare with Gold?
On the figures established in the UK booklet, Gold Plus has £5 million more medical and associated-expense cover per insured person, £3,000 more standard cancellation and trip-curtailment cover, and a £175 lower listed excess than Gold. Gold Plus’s listed cancellation excess is £75; Gold’s is £250. Policy choices and booklet notes may alter excesses, so confirm the excess shown for your own cover.
The booklet figures available here do not establish Gold’s property, valuables, liability, legal-expenses, delay or dental limits. Do not assume those benefits are absent from Gold; compare the current booklet and your schedule before deciding on that basis.

There is no universal value verdict without the individual premium and schedule. Medical screening and trip details affect both eligibility and price, so compare quotes using the same declared conditions, destination, dates and trip type. Then weigh the actual price difference against the cover limits and excesses that matter to you.
- Check that every relevant pre-existing condition has been declared and that the quote and schedule reflect the screening outcome.
- Compare the cancellation limit with the non-refundable costs you need to protect; verify whether an increased limit has been selected rather than assuming the £15,000 option is included.
- Review the excess and relevant sublimits, especially the £300 single-article/pair/set limit and £450 gadget-and-valuables limit under Gold Plus.
- For annual cover, confirm the region and maximum duration permitted for each trip.
AllClear’s UK homepage has presented customer-satisfaction figures, including a company-reported 98% “Excellent” or “Great” rating based on more than 230,000 Trustpilot responses as of July 2026, and a separate 98% recommendation figure from 574 post-purchase survey responses in June 2025. These figures use different samples and methods and do not measure Gold Plus claims outcomes. The available figures do not establish a UK Gold Plus-specific claims success rate.
