Fortnite Override’s v42.40 update (released October 15, 2026) opened the final Sprite Mastery rewards page and added five Quack Sprites. You unlock them by mastering other Sprites—not by finding a special chest or spending V-Bucks. The track awards Quack Jonesy at 40 mastered Sprites, Quack Bushranger at 45, Quack Adventure at 50, Quack Spooky Dash at 55, and Quack Klombo at 60.
Every Quack variant has the same collection-focused passive: the equipped Quack shares Sprite XP with other Sprites you are carrying. One 2026 gameplay report describes that share as 50% of the equipped Quack’s earned Sprite XP, while Epic’s v42.40 wording says it “boosts every Sprite you’re carrying with an extra Sprite XP whenever it gains XP.” In practical terms, carrying a Quack lets several unmastered Sprites progress during the same run.

These are the five rewards shown on the live Season 4 mastery tracker checked October 15, 2026. The threshold is cumulative: reaching 45 mastered Sprites includes the 40 needed for Quack Jonesy, and so on.

- Pick up a Sprite in an Override match. Equip it so it is part of your active loadout.
- Raise that Sprite to Level 5. Use it during the match until its level reaches the required maximum.
- Extract successfully. The extraction is what registers the Sprite as mastered. Reaching Level 5 without getting out does not increase your mastery total.
- Repeat the loop. Each successfully extracted Level 5 Sprite adds one to your mastered-Sprite count.
- Claim the reward on the Sprite Mastery page. At 40, 45, 50, 55 and 60 mastered Sprites, the corresponding Quack reward becomes available through the track.
Quack Sprites are progression rewards, not ordinary match loot. The available guidance does not identify a particular chest, a V-Bucks purchase, or a separate accessory as a prerequisite.

What the Quack Sprite effect does
The Quack passive is designed to speed up collection progress. When the equipped Quack earns Sprite XP, the other Sprites in your inventory receive shared XP as well. A 2026 description quantifies the share as 50% of the equipped Quack’s Sprite XP; Epic’s v42.40 notes describe the same behavior as an extra Sprite XP boost for every carried Sprite whenever it gains XP.
- Equip one Quack: it acts as the XP source for the passive.
- Carry other Sprites: those are the targets that receive the shared progress.
- Keep earning XP: the carried Sprites can advance together instead of being leveled only one at a time.
The five Quacks share this XP behavior. The sources reviewed do not publish a separate Quack-only ability for Jonesy, Bushranger, Adventure, Spooky Dash or Klombo. Their practical differences are the mastery threshold and the identity of the underlying Sprite they represent.

Which Quack should you use?

A faster, safer mastery routine
Equip the Quack immediately
Once the 40-Sprite milestone unlocks Quack Jonesy, put it in your active slot for subsequent runs. The same approach applies to later Quacks. Leaving the reward unequipped wastes the passive during matches in which you could be leveling several Sprites.

Fill the remaining inventory with unmastered Sprites
The effect helps only when there are other Sprites to receive XP. Carry Sprites that still need progress rather than a loadout made entirely of already mastered options.

Prioritize extraction over risky extra XP
Mastery is credited only after a Level 5 Sprite is extracted successfully. A failed extraction can erase the run’s contribution to the mastery count, so a secure Level 5 extraction is more valuable than chasing optional danger after the level requirement is met.
Check the tracker after each successful run
Confirm that the mastered-Sprite total increased before planning the next threshold. The milestones are close together near the end of the track, and the tracker is the authoritative place to see whether 40, 45, 50, 55 or 60 has been reached.

Availability and season timing
The final reward page became available with v42.40 on October 15, 2026. The Override Season 4 end date is reported as October 31, 2026, so players who are close to a threshold should verify the live in-game tracker and any post-season changes after that date. The listed numbers describe the tracker state checked on October 15 and should not be assumed permanent beyond the season without a new confirmation.

Common mistakes and fixes
- Level 5 but no mastery credit: the Sprite was not extracted. Repeat the run and complete extraction.
- No visible shared progress: make sure a Quack is equipped and that other, not-yet-mastered Sprites are actually in your inventory.
- Expecting different powers from each Quack: current descriptions establish the same shared-XP passive for all five; choose among them by unlock level or base-Sprite identity.
- Looking for a purchase or chest: the documented route is the Sprite Mastery reward track, not a store item or identified loot container.
