Following Orders is the third campaign mission in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. To earn both mission achievements in one run, search the first house completely before the interrogation, collect all four contraband items, use the nonviolent dialogue sequence with the couple, then finish the third-house collectibles. The key toolbox code is 214.
What Following Orders requires
You play as a North Korean soldier searching village homes for a defector. The mission has two collectible-based achievements, each worth 50 Gamerscore on Xbox according to the current AllThingsHow walkthrough:
- No Harm Done: obtain the defector’s location without hurting either civilian.
- No Stone Unturned: confiscate all four contraband items and read all four notes.
The route below is designed to complete both objectives in one playthrough. The counts and trigger behavior come from that third-party guide; no official Activision mission transcript, statistics page or patch documentation was identified.
All eight collectibles and exact locations
There are four notes and four contraband items. Six collectibles are in the first house, none are in the second house, and the final two notes are in the third house.

How to open the red toolbox
You have two valid methods:
- Shoot the toolbox padlock.
- Enter 214.
The Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe supplies the numbers: use the quantities for flour, water and raisins, and skip salt. Those three quantities produce 2-1-4. Open the toolbox, read Note From Your Friend and confiscate the heart medicine before leaving the room.
First-house route before the interrogation
- Search the first room on the right. Open the cupboard, unlock the red toolbox with 214 or a shot, read the note and take the heart medicine.
- Cross the hall to the bathroom. It is the first doorway on the left. Open the wall cabinet and confiscate the MP3 player.
- Enter the second doorway on the left. Take the Western novel from the cabinet.
- Search the kitchen. Read the Baekseolgi-Tteok Recipe in the left cupboard, then take the rations from the adjacent cabinet.
- Start the interrogation only after all four contraband items are collected. The items unlock the additional husband prompts used for the clean achievement route.
Nonviolent interrogation choices for No Harm Done
After the complete first-house search, four extra prompts become available when questioning the husband: Ask about rations, Ask about MP3 player, Ask about novel and Ask about South Korean medicine. You can use the contraband prompts without harming anyone, but the following sequence is the direct route reported by the guide.

- Speak to the wife in the kitchen and select Please join your husband.
- At the next prompt, select I will not ask again. She moves to the living room without force.
- Speak to the husband and select Ask about South Korean medicine. The other contraband questions remain usable if you have not harmed either civilian.
- At the second option set, select Give up the defector. Now.
The husband then gives the defector’s location, and No Harm Done triggers immediately. Threatening or physically hurting either civilian can prevent that achievement, so avoid force and intimidation if the clean completion is your goal.

Second- and third-house collectibles
Second house
Follow squadmate Ko through the second house. The walkthrough reports no notes or contraband there, so there is nothing to collect.

Third house: Note From Your Neighbor
In the third house, enter the bedroom and read Note From Your Neighbor from the cabinet beside the bed. It points to food hidden beneath the kitchen floor.
Opening the kitchen hatch
- Go to the top glass cabinet near the window and take the key.
- Use the key on the kitchen floor hatch.
- Reveal the woman hiding below.
- For the fastest reported sequence, use GRAB twice. The guide also reports that talking her out or threatening her is possible.
- Drop into the cellar and read Note From Mom on the wooden shelf.
Achievement checks and troubleshooting
- No Harm Done appears: immediately after the husband gives the defector’s location.
- Notes counter: after reading Note From Mom, it should display NOTES FOUND: 4/4.
- No Stone Unturned appears: at that point if all four contraband items were confiscated.
- If the final achievement does not trigger: revisit your route mentally and verify the heart medicine, MP3 player, Western novel and rations were all taken; reading every note alone is insufficient.
- If the clean achievement does not trigger: a civilian was likely threatened or hurt, or the required wife-and-husband dialogue choices were not followed.
Best route by objective

Following Orders is therefore easiest to complete by treating the first house as a mandatory sweep: collect every item, use the unlocked dialogue without violence, and only then advance with Ko. The second house is a transit section, while the third house supplies the final two notes and the 4/4 confirmation.
