Anime Zero traits are weapon modifiers. You reroll the trait on the weapon currently selected in the Traits area, so the safest strategy is to decide which weapon you will keep, match the trait to your goal, and verify the live in-game panel before spending rerolls. Community guides currently highlight Deadeye and Supernova for general combat, Fortune for farming, Vitality for survivability, and Focus variants when cooldowns are the limiting factor.
The detailed values below come from community-maintained Anime Zero guides dated October 5–10, 2026, including an October 9 table updated October 10. They are not developer-confirmed and can change with an update. Treat the displayed odds and effects as a snapshot, not a permanent specification.
What traits do in Anime Zero?
A trait is a rolled modifier attached to a weapon. The reported interface has a Traits area where you interact with Matilda, select a weapon, and spend a reroll. The reroll applies to that selected weapon rather than globally to your account or every item in your inventory.
That distinction matters when you have several weapons. A rare roll on the wrong item does not improve the weapon you actually use, and replacing the weapon later can make an expensive chase worthless. Read the currently equipped weapon’s trait and balance before rolling, and decide whether the item is a long-term part of your build.

What each trait is good for
Deadeye
Deadeye is one of the two community-recommended top combat rolls. It combines a direct 20% damage increase with both sides of critical scaling: 5% more crit chance and 50% more crit damage. That makes it especially attractive when your weapon and other equipment already support frequent critical hits. If your attacks rarely crit, part of the trait’s value is locked behind an event that does not happen often.

Supernova trades some of Deadeye’s critical specialization for broader combat utility: 24% damage, 12% cooldown reduction, 20% attack speed, and 3 walk speed. It is the more flexible choice for a weapon that alternates basic attacks and abilities, or for a player who values movement as well as raw damage. Its reported chance is also 0.01%, so it should be treated as a long-term chase rather than a sensible requirement for normal progression.
Sniper
Sniper supplies 12% crit chance, 15% crit damage, and 8% attack speed. It is a practical critical-focused alternative when Deadeye is unavailable. Unlike Deadeye, it does not add a general damage percentage, so compare the complete build rather than assuming a higher crit number always produces more damage.
Ferocity
Ferocity gives 18% damage, 8% cooldown reduction, 14% attack speed, and 2 walk speed. Community guides place it below the two 0.01% options but still regard it as a highly useful combat roll. It is particularly suitable for a weapon that benefits from both frequent attacks and regular skill use.

Overkill
Overkill adds 40% crit damage. It can be powerful after you have enough crit chance to trigger critical hits consistently. On a low-crit setup, a crit-damage-only bonus may contribute less than a smaller always-on damage or attack-speed bonus.

Razor Focus
Razor Focus adds 13% crit chance. It addresses the opposite side of the critical equation from Overkill: making crits happen more often. It can pair well with existing crit-damage bonuses, but evaluate whether your other equipment already puts you near the game’s effective critical limit.
Hunter
Hunter combines 10% damage, 5% cooldown reduction, 10% attack speed, and 1 walk speed. Its 1.83% reported chance makes it a realistic progression target compared with the 0.01% and 0.04% traits. It does not specialize as sharply as Deadeye or Supernova, but its four modest bonuses are useful on many weapons.
Power I, II, and III
The Power tiers provide straightforward damage: Power I adds 4%, Power II adds 6%, and Power III adds 8%. They are easy to evaluate because the bonus does not depend on a critical hit, a cooldown becoming available, or a farming result. Keep a Power roll when it is helping you clear content and you do not have a specific reason to change.
Swift I, II, and III
Swift I adds 6% attack speed and 1 walk speed; Swift II adds 9% attack speed and 1 walk speed; Swift III adds 12% attack speed and 1 walk speed. Swift is useful when basic-attack frequency or repositioning is more important than a flat damage increase. The movement bonus is small, but it can improve practical uptime when avoiding attacks or reaching targets.

Focus I, II, and III
Focus I, II, and III provide 4%, 7%, and 10% cooldown reduction respectively. Choose them when your damage is limited by waiting for abilities rather than by the abilities’ individual hit strength. Their value falls if other gear already supplies substantial cooldown reduction, so add the trait to your full loadout calculation instead of judging it in isolation.

Vitality
Vitality adds 25% maximum health. It does not increase damage or shorten a cooldown, but it can be the best practical trait when deaths prevent a clear. A successful slower run is more valuable than a theoretically stronger build that repeatedly fails, especially while learning a stage or fighting a boss.
Fortune
Fortune is the dedicated farming option in the community guides: +25% coins, +20% EXP, and +20% drop rate. Those bonuses matter only if the weapon still clears the chosen stage reliably. If Fortune turns a consistent run into a failed or much slower run, the extra reward multiplier can be outweighed by fewer successful runs per hour. Keep a combat trait for progression and use Fortune on a separate farming weapon when that is practical.
How to choose the best trait for your goal
There is no universal best trait because the answer depends on the weapon, the stage, your other equipment, and whether you are trying to win fights or collect resources. Use the following decision order.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →1. Identify the immediate bottleneck
- If enemies survive because your attacks are weak, compare Deadeye, Supernova, Ferocity, Hunter, and the Power tiers.
- If abilities are unavailable when you need them, compare Supernova, Ferocity, and the Focus tiers.
- If basic attacks feel slow, compare Supernova, Ferocity, Sniper, Hunter, and Swift tiers.
- If critical hits are inconsistent, prioritize crit chance from Deadeye, Sniper, or Razor Focus before adding crit damage.
- If you die before finishing, test Vitality before chasing a damage roll.
- If the goal is coins, experience, or drops rather than the fastest clear, consider Fortune.
2. Check for duplicated stats
Bonuses that repeat a stat already supplied by your weapon, accessories, or other loadout pieces may have less practical value than a different stat. This is especially important for cooldown reduction and critical chance. Community sources report a 60% crit-chance cap and a 40% cooldown-reduction cap after a four-slot update, but those caps are not confirmed by a developer source. Another October 5 community page reports a 275% crit-damage cap. Because the sources disagree about cap details and the live version may have changed, inspect the current panel and avoid treating any one cap as authoritative.
3. Consider the weapon’s expected lifespan
Use scarce rerolls on a weapon you expect to keep. A temporary weapon can use a useful progression trait such as Power, Swift, Focus, Hunter, or Vitality without justifying an all-out attempt at a 0.01% roll. Conversely, a long-term weapon can justify saving resources for a target that matches your final build.
4. Compare successful rewards over time
For farming, do not compare only the percentage printed on Fortune. Compare coins, experience, or drops earned across successful runs and include clear time, failures, and travel or recovery time. A lower multiplier on a fast, reliable weapon can outperform Fortune on a weapon that struggles to finish the stage.

Recommended choices by play style
| Your situation | First traits to consider | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Long-term general combat | Deadeye or Supernova | They have the broadest reported combat packages, but both are extremely rare. |
| Critical-focused weapon | Deadeye, Sniper, Razor Focus, then Overkill | Build crit chance first; crit damage pays off when crits actually occur. |
| Skill-heavy rotation | Supernova, Ferocity, or Focus III/II/I | Cooldown reduction improves ability frequency; choose the level that fits your existing stats. |
| Basic-attack speed or mobility | Supernova, Ferocity, Sniper, Hunter, or Swift III/II/I | Attack-speed and walk-speed bonuses improve uptime and repositioning. |
| Survival wall | Vitality | Twenty-five percent more maximum health can turn failed clears into consistent clears. |
| Early or mid-game progression | Hunter, Power III, Swift III, or Focus III | These are meaningful upgrades without requiring an ultra-rare roll. |
| Coins, EXP, and drops | Fortune | It is the only listed trait focused directly on all three farming rewards. |
How to reroll a weapon trait
The community guides describe the following general flow. Labels and controls are version-sensitive, so use the live client if its wording differs.
- Go to the Traits area in Anime Zero.
- Interact with Matilda.
- Select the specific weapon you want to modify. Confirm that it is the intended item; the reported system applies the reroll to the selected weapon.
- Review the weapon’s current trait and your available reroll resources before confirming.
- Choose a normal reroll or, where available, Auto Reroll.
- If using Auto Reroll, select the target trait or stopping condition shown by the current interface.
- Set a stopping rule before starting. For example, stop at Hunter or any higher combat roll, stop at Vitality while learning a difficult stage, or stop at Fortune for a dedicated farming weapon.
- Read any confirmation dialog for a high-grade outcome and confirm only when you accept replacing the current trait.
- After rolling, verify the trait on the weapon itself before changing loadouts or spending more resources.
The October 9 guide reports Auto Reroll target selection and safeguards that stop on Legendary or Mythic traits. The October 5 guide also reports per-weapon rerolls, Auto Reroll, aimable trait pity, and confirmation dialogs for some high-grade outcomes. These are dated community descriptions, not guaranteed current controls; the client is the authority.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where rerolls and trait resources are reported to come from
Community guides list several possible sources: codes, clears, daily login rewards, Story-run trait crystal drops, quests, and achievements. The October 5 guide says Story drop chances vary by difficulty. Codes and reward tables are volatile, so do not assume that a named code, drop chance, or reward remains active without checking the current game announcements or interface.
Because the rarest traits have reported chances of 0.01% and 0.04%, spending every resource immediately can leave you without enough rolls for a weapon upgrade or a more useful progression trait. Save resources, choose the weapon first, and define the minimum acceptable result before beginning.
Common mistakes and how to avoid them
Chasing a rare trait on a replaceable weapon
Deadeye and Supernova are attractive, but their reported 0.01% chance makes them poor reasons to empty your resources on an item you expect to replace soon. Keep a functional progression trait until the weapon’s future is clear.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsChoosing crit damage without enough crit chance
Overkill’s 40% crit-damage bonus matters only on attacks that crit. Pair critical chance and critical damage deliberately, and account for any cap or diminishing value shown by the current game version.

Assuming Fortune always produces more farming income
Fortune’s reward bonuses do not compensate for failed runs. Measure completed rewards over time and use it on a weapon that can clear the target stage consistently.
Ignoring existing cooldown bonuses
Focus may look strong on the trait screen while contributing little if the rest of your loadout already approaches the effective cooldown limit. Compare total cooldown reduction before replacing a useful damage, speed, or survivability trait.
Trusting an old screenshot or tier list
The available trait lists are community maintained, and the sources describe different cap details. Check the live panel for the current effect, chance, Auto Reroll behavior, and any pity or stopping safeguards immediately before rolling.
Are the reported odds and caps official?
No official developer documentation was verified for the October 9 trait panel, exact odds, current Auto Reroll behavior, or stat caps. The values in this guide are attributed to independent community pages: the Anime Zero [SHADOW MONARCH] Wiki’s October 9 table updated October 10, an Anime Zero Wiki page reviewed October 10, and an October 5 guide describing a related October 4 patch. Use them as a reference for planning, then confirm the live interface.
