Yes—if you want OLED contrast and fast 1440p gaming at the lowest Alienware price. The Alienware AW2726DM launched at $349.99 with a 240Hz QD-OLED panel and a claimed 0.03ms response time. Its trade-offs are modest brightness and no USB hub, so it is best for gamers who value motion clarity and deep blacks more than spectacular HDR or extensive connectivity.
What the AW2726DM offers for $349.99
Windows Central’s May 16, 2026 review positions the 26.7-inch-class AW2726DM as a budget QD-OLED gaming monitor. Its 2560×1440 resolution is a practical match for modern graphics cards: sharper than 1080p at a 27-inch size, but less demanding than 4K when you are targeting very high frame rates.
- Panel: 26.7-inch-class QD-OLED, 2560×1440.
- Refresh rate: 240Hz.
- Response claim: 0.03ms.
- Adaptive sync: AMD FreeSync Premium, VESA AdaptiveSync and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility.
- Launch price: $349.99, as reported by Windows Central in 2026.
That combination makes the Alienware AW2726DM 27-inch 240Hz QD-OLED gaming monitor unusually accessible for a branded OLED display. It is aimed at buyers upgrading from a conventional 144Hz or 165Hz LCD who want OLED-level contrast without moving to a more expensive 280Hz or 360Hz model.

Brightness is the main compromise
The same review lists maximum SDR brightness at 200 nits and HDR brightness at about 400 nits. Those figures are workable in a normally lit room, but they do not deliver the intense highlights available from brighter OLED displays or many high-end LCDs. Sunlit rooms, strong overhead lighting and HDR games with bright effects will expose the limitation.
#1 Best Overall
- Alienware 27 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor – AW2726DM
For comparison, the AW2725D is listed at 250 nits SDR and up to 1,000 nits HDR. That is a substantial reason to pay more if HDR impact is central to your games, films or creative work. The AW2726DM remains attractive when your room is controlled and you primarily want OLED blacks, color contrast and smooth motion.
You get fewer ports
The AW2726DM includes two HDMI 2.1 inputs, DisplayPort 1.4, a 3.5mm audio output and a lock slot. It does not include the USB-B upstream connection or USB-A/USB-C downstream hub ports provided by the AW2725D. If your keyboard, mouse, webcam or storage normally connects through the monitor, you will need a separate hub or direct connections to the computer.

AW2726DM versus Alienware’s faster and brighter options
| Model | Resolution and refresh | Brightness figures reported | USB hub and connectivity | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AW2726DM | 2560×1440, 240Hz | 200 nits SDR; about 400 nits HDR | Two HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, 3.5mm audio; no USB hub stated | Lowest-cost OLED upgrade and high-refresh 1440p gaming |
| AW2725D | 280Hz | 250 nits SDR; up to 1,000 nits HDR | Includes USB-B upstream and USB-A/USB-C downstream hub ports | Buyers who prioritize HDR brightness and desk connectivity |
| AW2725DF | 360Hz | Not stated in the cited Dell product information | Not stated in the cited Dell product information | Competitive players who can use and justify 360Hz |
Dell’s current product pages list the AW2725D at 280Hz and the AW2725DF at 360Hz. A higher refresh rate matters most when your system can consistently produce correspondingly high frame rates and your games benefit from very low input and motion latency. For many single-player games, the AW2726DM’s 240Hz is already more than sufficient.

The review reports a three-year Dell warranty covering burn-in. Warranty wording can vary by country and product channel, so confirm that the policy in your region explicitly covers burn-in before purchase. Who should buy the AW2726DM?
It is a strong choice when
- You want OLED contrast at the lowest Alienware entry price.
- You play competitive shooters, racing games or other titles where 240Hz smoothness is useful.
- Your room is normally lit rather than flooded with sunlight.
- You can live without monitor-based USB ports.
- Your graphics card can drive high frame rates at 2560×1440.
Choose a different Alienware OLED when
- HDR brightness and a USB hub matter: consider the AW2725D’s listed 250-nit SDR, up-to-1,000-nit HDR and hub connections.
- You compete at the highest refresh rates: the AW2725DF’s listed 360Hz target is more appropriate if your games and hardware sustain those frame rates.
- Your room is very bright: the AW2726DM’s 200-nit SDR limit may look subdued, particularly beside a brighter display.
Buying checklist for 2026
- Check the live regional price; $349.99 is the 2026 launch price reported by Windows Central.
- Confirm the exact warranty language, including burn-in coverage, for your country.
- Measure your desk and check whether two HDMI 2.1 inputs and one DisplayPort 1.4 meet your devices’ needs.
- Plan for a separate USB hub if you need monitor-mounted USB-A or USB-C ports.
- Compare your room lighting and HDR expectations with the 200-nit SDR and approximately 400-nit HDR figures.
- Make sure your PC can produce high frame rates at 2560×1440 before paying extra for a faster 280Hz or 360Hz alternative.
Verdict
The AW2726DM is the sensible value pick in Alienware’s OLED range: 240Hz, 1440p resolution, adaptive-sync support and OLED contrast for a documented $349.99 launch price. The savings are paid for with lower brightness and no USB hub. Buy it for fast SDR gaming and deep blacks in a typical room; move up to the AW2725D for brighter HDR and hub connectivity, or the AW2725DF when 360Hz competitive play is the deciding factor.
