Dell’s current U.S. Alienware desktop listings show complete gaming PCs, not standalone empty Alienware cases. The listings do show chassis and side-panel configurations as part of desktop systems. That does not establish whether Dell has an empty replacement chassis or panel available through its parts catalog, or whether a third-party enclosure will fit a particular Alienware PC.
What Dell currently lists for Alienware
Dell’s U.S. Alienware desktop lineup presents the Aurora and Area-51 as complete gaming desktops. The page describes the chassis as part of an Alienware gaming system; it does not present an empty enclosure as a separate product. The listed models and availability can change over time.
Dell describes Area-51 as an 80 L full-sized tower and Aurora as a 36 L mid-sized tower. Those figures describe complete-system product lines, not a standalone case’s usable interior volume or compatibility.
Does that mean Dell never sells a replacement case?
No. The current listings checked do not establish that Dell sells an empty Alienware case separately, but they also do not settle whether a replacement chassis or side panel is available through Dell’s parts catalog for a particular model, service tag, or region. If you need a part for a PC you own, check Dell support or parts using the exact model or service tag before assuming it is unavailable.

Is a side panel sold separately?
Dell’s Aurora R16 desktop listing describes solid and clear side-panel options within the desktop’s chassis configurations. It also lists different power-supply and cooling configurations. These are options for a complete desktop configuration, not evidence that Dell sells a loose side panel. The R16 listing was marked unavailable when checked and directed visitors to similar products, so its status should not be treated as a current stock guarantee.
Can you move Alienware components into another case?
Do not assume a generic PC case will fit. Compatibility depends on the exact Alienware model and its components; the Dell pages cited here do not establish that an Alienware desktop can be transferred to a standard enclosure. Before buying a replacement case, verify:

- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- The motherboard’s size, mounting points, and any model-specific layout.
- Whether the power supply, cabling, and power connections fit the proposed case and motherboard.
- Front-panel connections and how the system’s buttons, ports, and lighting are wired.
- Cooler dimensions, radiator placement, airflow needs, and clearance around cooling hardware.
- Graphics-card length and thickness, drive mounts, and other component clearances.
- Whether original trim, lighting, and other model-specific parts can be retained or connected.
Confirm those details against the exact machine and the replacement enclosure’s specifications. A case that fits the motherboard alone may still fail to accommodate the power supply, cooler, front-panel wiring, or graphics card.
What the Aurora R16 dimensions do—and do not—tell you
Dell’s Aurora R16 owner’s manual gives the assembled system’s dimensions as 418 mm high, 197 mm wide, and 458.40 mm deep, with a maximum weight of 15.37 kg. Dell’s product listing notes that the dimensions include a rear pull bar and rubber foot. These measurements are for the assembled computer, not an empty case shell, so they are not enough to size a replacement enclosure or confirm component fit.
