The AION 2 Team says it restricted 4,996 accounts in an enforcement action dated October 10, 2026. Its notice names gold farming and bot operations, unauthorized programs, real-money trading (RMT), and abnormal trading described as “economy abuse.” The publisher calls the action account restrictions; it does not say all 4,996 accounts were proven bots or publish a count for each category.
What happened in AION 2’s October 10 enforcement action?
In its October 10, 2026 Account Restrictions notice, the AION 2 Team reported that 4,996 accounts were restricted. The notice gives the action time as October 10 at 23:00 PDT / October 11 at 08:00 CEST.
The publisher’s reported total is not an independently audited account-level finding. The notice does not break down the 4,996 restrictions by alleged conduct, and the number should not be read as a count of confirmed bots.
What does AION 2 mean by “economy abuse”?
The AION 2 Team defines it as “Abnormal trading patterns that disrupt the game economy.” That phrase appears alongside its references to gold farming, bot operations, unauthorized programs, and RMT. The notice does not publish specific trading examples or say how many restrictions fell into each category.

The AION 2 Global Operation Policy lists “Gold Farming / Bot Operations” and “Use of Unauthorized Programs” among categories that can result in an integrated-account ban. Its examples for gold farming and bot operations include commercial gaming with multiple accounts and using unauthorized programs or multiple accounts to unfairly obtain, transfer, or monetize items. It also covers other abnormal activity detected by internal systems. The policy describes unauthorized programs broadly, including programs, devices, or equipment that circumvent technical protections or interfere with normal operation.
Were players restricted for long grinding sessions?
The AION 2 Team said: “Normal play, including long grinding sessions, is not affected.” It says restrictions follow review. That is the publisher’s general statement about the enforcement action, not a guarantee about the outcome of any individual account review.

The notice does not disclose the detection signals or evidence threshold used for these restrictions. It also does not provide an account-by-account explanation, so the published material cannot establish why a particular account was restricted.

How is an account restriction different from a security lock?

What should affected players do?
- Contact customer support. The October notice directs players who dispute a restriction or lock to submit a support ticket promptly; it says requests are reviewed individually.
- Meet the appeal deadline for a sanction. The operation policy says an appeal must be submitted within 15 days from the sanction date.
- Distinguish the issue in the request. State whether the account has an enforcement restriction or a temporary security lock, and provide the information support requests. The notice does not publish detection evidence or a specific appeal form in its announcement.
The policy describes a process involving reporting, investigation, pre-notification, sanction, and appeal. It also says investigations can take time and re-investigations may occur.

What anti-bot measures had AION 2 announced earlier?
In a January 28, 2026 announcement, NC / NCSOFT described earlier measures that included selective overseas VPN blocking, enhanced reporting, hardware-based restrictions, and a level-45 requirement for gathering. These are historical context, not evidence of which methods detected accounts in the October action; the October notice does not disclose its detection method.
The January announcement is available from NC / NCSOFT. The October total and enforcement categories come from the AION 2 Team’s own notice, which does not independently validate the account-level allegations.
