There is no NCSoft-published millisecond target that defines “good ping” for Aion 2. Judge your connection by consistent responsiveness, delayed actions, disconnects, and whether the problem follows your connection or affects an entire server. NCSoft has announced Global hosting in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan, but it has not published location-by-location latency estimates.
Before changing equipment or blaming your internet provider, check the current game notices. A known-issues notice dated October 9, 2026 reported high latency and delayed in-game actions for players on the NA West server Nezekan, demonstrating that a server incident can look like a problem with your own connection.
What ping means in Aion 2
Ping is the round-trip time for data to travel from your device to the game service and back, normally expressed in milliseconds. A lower, steadier round trip gives the client and server more timely information about movement, targeting, attacks, and other actions. A connection that occasionally jumps can feel worse than one with a slightly higher but stable delay.
Latency is not the same as download speed
Aion 2’s PC requirements call for broadband internet, but they do not specify a minimum download rate, upload rate, or latency figure. A fast broadband plan can still have an unstable route to a particular server. Conversely, a modest connection may feel responsive when it has a short, consistent path and no competing traffic.
#1 Best Overall

- Powerful wired network capacity of up to 20G with one 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports.
- High-performance quad-core 2.0GHz CPU with robust cooling, 2GB RAM and eight internal antennas providing up to 3000 sq. ft. of range.
- Smart Home Master makes it easy to set up functional subnetwork (up to 3 SSIDs) for IoT devices and VPNs
- ROG-exclusive Gaming Network streamlines Triple-Level Game Acceleration setup and connections through convenient SSIDs
Three problems players commonly call “ping”
- Latency: the time required for a round trip.
- Jitter: variation in that time from one moment to the next, which can produce sudden pauses or rubber-banding.
- Packet loss: data that never arrives and must be sent again, often appearing as missing actions, freezes, or a disconnect.
A delayed skill, character snap-back, or late combat result can involve any of these conditions. A single number shown by a speed test cannot identify which one is responsible.
What NCSoft has confirmed about Aion 2 connectivity
| Official information | What it tells players |
|---|---|
| Global hosting is announced for North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. | Those are the named regional choices. The announcement does not provide a latency estimate for each country or city. |
| The PC requirements say broadband internet. | NCSoft has not specified a bandwidth or latency requirement in the published requirements. |
| Combat is described as combining precision, timing, and positioning with tab-targeting. | Stable responsiveness matters during combat, but this description does not create a class-specific ping limit. |
| An October 9, 2026 known-issues notice reported high latency and delayed actions on NA West’s Nezekan server. | At least some latency symptoms can originate from a server-side incident rather than a player’s home network. |
The combat description comes from NCSoft’s April 21, 2026 announcement, in which Chief Business Officer Seunguk Baek said: “AION 2 features fast-paced combat that blends precision, timing, and positioning with traditional tab-targeting.” It explains why inconsistent response is noticeable, not how many milliseconds the game considers acceptable.
Which Aion 2 region should you use?
Because no official latency table is available, select a region using practical evidence from your own location and play group. The physically closest region is a sensible first test, but internet routes do not always follow a straight geographic path.

| Decision factor | How to apply it | What is not established |
|---|---|---|
| Your location | Start with the announced region that normally gives your traffic the shortest, most consistent route. | NCSoft has not published country-by-country or city-by-city ping figures. |
| Friends, guild, or party | Use the server where your regular group actually plays if the connection remains stable enough for your activities. | No official statement says one region is preferable for a particular class or play style. |
| Observed consistency | Compare several sessions at similar times. Prefer the region with fewer spikes, delayed actions, and disconnects. | A one-time result is not a permanent performance guarantee. |
| Current service health | Check notices before deciding that a region is permanently poor. | There is no published promise that every region will have identical latency. |
Do not choose solely by a map
Distance is only one part of a route. Your provider’s peering arrangements, congestion, and the path into the game’s hosting facility can change the result. Two players in the same city can therefore see different behavior, while a more distant region may occasionally perform better for a particular provider.

Keep the social cost in view
If your guild is established on one server, moving solely because another region appears marginally quicker can create a larger practical problem. Compare the actual in-game experience during your normal activities rather than optimizing an unverified theoretical number.
How to decide whether your latency is acceptable
Use a repeatable, symptom-based test instead of treating an arbitrary millisecond cutoff as an official Aion 2 rule.
Look for timing consistency
- Do inputs produce the expected result at a predictable time?
- Do movement and targeting remain smooth during ordinary encounters?
- Do delays appear only during a short spike or persist for the entire session?
- Does the issue occur on one server, one character, or every online activity?
A stable connection that feels responsive for your normal content is more useful than a favorable reading that is followed by spikes or losses.

Low frame rate, stuttering caused by local rendering, and a delayed server response can feel similar. If the picture freezes while audio continues, the issue may be local performance. If the client remains visually smooth but actions resolve late or characters snap backward, network conditions are more likely. These clues are not a substitute for an official diagnostic, but they help you collect a useful description.

Compare like with like
Record the server, region, approximate time, activity, and symptoms for several sessions. A comparison is meaningful only when you test the same region under similar conditions. Switching regions while also downloading a large file or playing on a different device does not isolate a cause.
When high ping is probably a server-side problem
On October 9, 2026, Aion 2’s official known-issues notice said that players logged into Nezekan on the NA West server might experience high latency and delayed in-game actions. That notice is a concrete example of why checking service updates comes before purchasing networking equipment.
Clues that point toward an incident
- Several players in the same server report delayed actions at the same time.
- The problem is limited to one named server while another region behaves normally.
- Your other online services remain responsive, but the game becomes delayed suddenly.
- The symptoms begin or end around a published maintenance window or known-issue update.
Clues that point toward your connection path
- Only your device or home appears affected.
- The problem follows you across multiple game sessions while other players are unaffected.
- Latency worsens when other devices upload, stream, synchronize, or download heavily.
- You see repeated disconnects rather than a short, server-wide event.
These are diagnostic clues, not guarantees. A regional routing fault can affect many customers of one provider without appearing in a game-wide notice, and a server incident can affect only one shard.
A practical troubleshooting sequence
Follow the checks in order so that each step answers a different question. The sequence below is general network troubleshooting; NCSoft’s support material does not publish an Aion 2-specific ping test or a universal latency target.

- Check official notices first. Look for a current known issue, maintenance message, or server-specific warning. Note the affected region or server and the time of the notice.
- Confirm where you are playing. Write down the exact region and server. Make sure you are not comparing a character on one region with a different character elsewhere.
- Reproduce the symptom deliberately. Play for a defined period and record when an action is delayed, when movement snaps back, or when a disconnect occurs. Include the in-game activity rather than writing only “lag.”
- Check whether other devices are using the connection. Pause large downloads, cloud synchronization, video uploads, and other traffic temporarily. If the game improves, congestion was contributing to the symptom.
- Test another local condition. If available, compare your normal connection with a direct wired connection or a different access point. This is a diagnostic comparison, not an NCSoft requirement.
- Restart the local network only when appropriate. A restart can clear a temporary fault, but it cannot repair a provider route or a server incident. Avoid repeatedly restarting equipment while an official outage is active; preserve the time and symptoms for your report.
- Compare another network cautiously. A temporary alternate connection can show whether the problem follows your usual provider, but mobile data may have usage charges, different routing, or its own instability. Treat the result as evidence, not a permanent solution.
- Recheck the service notice. If the same server is listed as affected, wait for the incident to be addressed rather than changing hardware based on that event.
- Contact support if the problem persists. After basic troubleshooting fails, include the country you are connecting from, when the issue started, and your ISP. Those are the specific details requested in the official support FAQ.
What to record for a useful support request
A precise timeline gives support something to compare with server logs. Keep one entry for each distinct occurrence.
| Item | Example of useful detail |
|---|---|
| Country | The country from which you connect, as requested by support. |
| ISP | Your internet service provider’s name and connection type if known. |
| Start time | The date and approximate local time when the issue first appeared. |
| Region and server | The selected Global region and the exact server name. |
| Symptom | Delayed actions, rubber-banding, freezes, failed login, or a full disconnect. |
| Scope | Whether the issue affects one character, one server, every region tested, or other devices. |
| Checks already performed | Service notice reviewed, competing traffic paused, alternate connection tested, and the result of each check. |
Use plain language and separate observed facts from assumptions. “Actions resolved several seconds late on Nezekan from 20:10 to 20:25 UTC” is more actionable than “my ping is bad.”

High latency, failed login, and disconnects are different cases
High latency with successful login
You can enter the game, but actions resolve late or movement becomes inconsistent. Record the server and timing, then check notices and competing local traffic before escalating.
Repeated disconnects
Frequent disconnections may involve packet loss, authentication, a provider route, or a service incident. Do not describe them only as “high ping.” Record each disconnect time and whether other online services remain available.
Unable to connect at all
A failed connection provides less evidence about in-game latency because no session is established. Confirm the selected region, check official notices, and provide support with your country, the time the problem began, and your ISP if basic checks do not resolve it.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Inventing an official cutoff: A community rule of thumb is not an NCSoft specification.
- Blaming the ISP immediately: The Nezekan notice shows that server-side latency is possible.
- Using broadband speed as a latency score: Throughput and round-trip delay measure different properties.
- Comparing different regions without recording them: A result is meaningless if the server changed between tests.
- Changing several variables at once: New hardware, a different route, and a different server cannot be evaluated together.
- Reporting only a vague symptom: Country, onset time, ISP, server, and exact behavior make troubleshooting more efficient.
Bottom line for Aion 2 players
Use responsiveness and consistency as your personal standard because NCSoft has not published a numerical good-ping threshold. Start with the Global region that best fits your location and group, then verify the result across normal play sessions. When latency appears suddenly or affects a named server, check official notices before spending money. If basic checks fail, send support your country, the time the problem began, and your ISP, along with the exact server and symptoms you recorded.
