To get an ordinary Aion 2 pet, collect five of its souls from the monster or other source shown in that pet’s in-game source panel. A pet then needs 25 more souls for level 2 and 75 more for level 3. Its Genus determines its owned-stat package; the separate Genus Insight board has rerollable stat lines.
The latest detailed Global guide used here was updated October 8, 2026, for launcher version 27. Its roster and stat counts are community-guide and client-data figures, not an official NC roster publication. Patches can change them, so use the live Pets menu and source panel to confirm a pet’s current requirements and source.
How many pets are in Aion 2?
Two community guides report slightly different collection totals, which may reflect a different data snapshot or roster version. Aion 2 Maps reports 207 pets, while Corpus reports 206. Treat those totals as dated reference counts rather than a guaranteed current in-game total.

These are the counts reported by Aion 2 Maps in 2026; Corpus reports 206 total and 45 Varian pets. The in-game collection screen is the practical place to check which pets are available in your current version.

How to get pets and farm their souls
Most pets are collected by obtaining souls associated with a listed monster. The required soul count is cumulative from the point at which the pet is unowned:

The counts are from the Global launch reference reported by community guides. They describe souls, not a guaranteed number of monster kills: drop frequency and game version affect how long farming takes.
Find the right source before traveling
- Open the Pets menu and select an unowned pet, or one whose next level you want to earn.
- Read that pet’s source panel for the named monster, region, and any chest or shop source. A pet’s name may differ from its source monster’s name.
- Choose an accessible camp where the target enemies are manageable. Staying near a compact group can avoid repeated long trips between kills.
- Check the pet’s soul counter as you farm. Confirm that the counter advances before committing to a long session.
The panel matters because not every pet is obtained through ordinary open-world kills, and a monster’s presence at a camp does not by itself confirm that it drops the soul you need.

Example open-world camps
Aion 2 Maps lists home-region camp examples including Verteron’s Eternal Isle for Elyos and Tranein Highland, Immortal Isle, and Spirit Isle in Altgard for Asmodians. In its Verteron Cogni listings, Eternal Kerubar and Eternal Kerubian are both level 49; the guide reports 33 nearby Eternal Kerubar spawns and 31 Eternal Kerubian spawns.
Those are database camp listings, not a guarantee that either location is best for every character. Check faction access, enemy level, and your current progress before heading there.
Other reported sources
Aion 2 Maps also reports dungeon monsters, expedition mid-boss rewards, kill rewards, Pet Soul Chests, battle-pass rewards, and Special pet offers as sources. Named expedition examples include Enhanced Harcon in Krao Cave; Black Smoke Murute and Red Spark Ignus in Fire Temple; and Predator Saraswati and Phantasmal Lakshmi in Draupnir. Boss reward availability, eligibility, and any event or offer period can vary, so confirm them in game before planning around one.

What stats do pets give by Genus?
The following are reported level-3 owned stats for each category. Ordinary pets in the same Genus share that family’s stat package at the same level, according to the cited Codex guide. These effects belong to the pet itself; they are not Genus Insight board rolls.

The guide describes Cogni as a health/offense package, Fera as accuracy and travel, Natura as stamina and defense, and Varian as mounted travel and defense. These are broad ways to think about the reported effects, not exclusive class assignments. When choosing which pet to develop, consider its owned stats alongside how accessible its source is, its mount function or appearance, and the Genus board you want to progress.
How Genus Insight differs from pet stats
Genus Insight is a separate progression system with one board for each of the five families. Its unlocked lines can be rerolled, so the results are not the fixed owned-stat package listed above. Aion 2 Maps’ client-data guide reports that boards progress from Insight 1 to 10, with nine lines opening across levels 1 through 9; level 10 improves the odds of higher grades.

Analyze costs and locking lines
The guide reports that an Analyze costs four board-specific or universal Soul Crystals plus 1,000 Kina. Locking a line preserves it for the next Analyze but raises the reported cost. The cited lock surcharges are:

These figures are attributed to the current client-data guide and may change with patches. The guide recommends avoiding locks while a board is still leveling, since they raise reroll costs and later Insight levels offer better grades. That is a resource-planning recommendation, not a requirement.

Reported grade odds at higher Insight levels
Aion 2 Maps reports the following Global/client-data probabilities. Recheck the in-game board after patches rather than assuming these odds remain unchanged.

The same guide identifies slot 4 as the damage-related line and reports Smite only on Special’s slot 4. It also reports that leveling monster pets can add Insight to the four ordinary-family boards, while Special progression depends on analysis.

For a new collector, compare the travel and effort for a nearby new unlock with the souls remaining to the next level on a pet you already own. Five souls unlock a pet; reaching level 3 from unowned takes 105. Aion 2 Maps reports 100 Genus EXP per soul for collection, but says the final 75-soul level yields 250 EXP total. On that guide’s calculation, collecting new pets is more efficient for board EXP than finishing a pet solely for that reward.
That comparison is based on the guide’s reported EXP values, not an independently tested farming rate. Your best route also depends on reachable camps, target difficulty, the stat package you want, and whether you are spending souls for collection or board progression.
