AION 2 launched globally for PC on October 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM PDT / 15:00 CEST (13:00 UTC). To choose a server, start with the region nearest you for a better chance of lower latency, then coordinate with friends or a guild; NC has not published a universally best server or a current server-name ranking in the official information cited here.
When did AION 2 launch globally?
AION 2’s global PC release was October 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM PDT, which was 15:00 CEST and 13:00 UTC. NC announced the release date in advance, and the official PURPLE Lounge notice confirmed the launch time: official launch-time notice. NC’s Gamescom announcement also listed the earlier launch-scale test on September 17–18 and five days of Founder’s Pack early access from September 30 through October 4; both periods have passed.
The game went live on October 5. AION 2’s official Steam feed posted a launch announcement and maintenance notices around the commercial release. Those notices are historical, not a reliable indication of current uptime or maintenance; check the official feed for live service status: AION 2 Steam announcements.
Which AION 2 server region should you choose?
NC America identified four locally hosted global server regions: North America, South America, Europe, and Japan. The available official announcement does not establish a current server-name roster, population figures by server, or a developer-endorsed “best” server. Server availability and status can change, so check the in-game server list and current official notices before creating a character.
#1 Best Overall
- The Ultimate 2 Player Game
Use these factors to make the choice:
- Location and latency: Begin with the region geographically closest to you. Distance is a practical starting point for reducing network delay, but it does not guarantee a particular ping; your connection route and local network also matter.
- Friends and guild: If you plan to play with specific people, agree on a region and server together before creating characters. A nearby server is less useful if your group is elsewhere.
- Community language: NC lists ten in-game language options, but it does not publish language distributions for individual servers. Check where your friends or intended community play rather than assuming a region has a particular language majority.
Compare the live choices on those three axes—expected latency from your location, where your group is playing, and the language you prefer. The official regional announcement confirms the regions and language options, but does not provide comparative latency, player-population, or language-distribution data: NC America’s global release announcement.
How do you get started in AION 2?
Pick a class whose combat style appeals to you, follow the early quest flow, and use the opening play to get comfortable with movement and positioning. This is a practical beginner approach, not a required progression route or a claim about an optimal build. NC describes combat as involving precision, timing, positioning, movement, and teamwork, so learning those basics in lower-pressure play can help before organized group or competitive activities.
Rank #2
Learn through PvE first if you want room to practice
NC describes AION 2 as combining PvE and PvP, with solo and four-player dungeons as well as eight-player raids. If you are new to the game, start with the early quest flow and activities suited to your group size, then move into larger groups when you feel ready. This is an editorial suggestion; the announcement does not prescribe a beginner leveling route.

Move into PvP and faction content when you are ready
The announced modes include 1v1 and 4v4 arenas, large-scale cross-server RvR, and the faction-based Abyss. These activities put more weight on timing, positioning, and coordination. You can try them when their competitive and group focus sounds appealing; you do not need to treat them as a mandatory first step.

- Stunning World: Discover a meticulously crafted fantasy world brimming with otherworldly inhabitants, mysterious enemies, and ancient secrets.
- Innovative PvPvE: Aion introduces a new dynamic to MMOs by combining both PvP and PvE gameplay into an exciting new style.

- Ships in Certified Frustration-Free Packaging
NC describes AION 2 as 36 times larger than the original AION. That is the publisher’s promotional comparison, not an independently validated measurement of world size. Likewise, the AION 2 Team reported 400,000 active users on October 5, 2026, in its official Steam announcement; treat that as the publisher’s reported figure, not an independently audited concurrent-player count.
