In Aion 2, “diamonds” normally refers to Diamond Gemstone, a material gathered from Essence Extraction nodes—not the game’s premium currency. The official premium currency is called Quna and is purchased inside the game. Diamond Gemstone is used by the crafting systems described by the community map, while the announced trade system uses ordinary in-game currency. This distinction matters because gemstone farming, Quna purchases, and real-money trading follow different rules.
What “diamonds” means in Aion 2
Players use “diamonds” as shorthand for two unrelated things. The first is Diamond Gemstone, a gatherable material shown on the Aion 2 Atlas community map. The second is Quna, the premium currency named by AION 2 Global Support. Quna is not described by the official support documentation as an item called Diamonds, and the two should not be treated as interchangeable.

The distinction is supported by three different kinds of documentation: the Atlas map describes gathering and crafting uses, NCSOFT describes the trade system’s currency model, and AION 2 Global Support explains Quna purchases. If a guide calls a Diamond Gemstone a premium-currency balance, or tells you to buy “diamonds” from an outside seller, it is mixing separate systems.

The Aion 2 Atlas map identifies Diamond Gemstone as one of three gem nodes collected through Essence Extraction. According to that community-maintained item description, gems feed three broad categories:
- Accessories: gemstone materials are used in accessory-related crafting or enhancement recipes.
- High-tier potions: the map lists gems as an input for advanced potion production.
- Soulstones: gems also contribute to soulstone creation.
The same map lists four names in the diamond progression: Diamond Gemstone, Fine Diamond Gemstone, Pure Diamond Gemstone, and Radiant Diamond Gemstone. Those names and the broad use categories come from the map publisher, not from an official, versioned crafting database. Exact recipe quantities, grade conversion rules, and whether every grade can currently be traded are therefore not established here. Check the recipe or item tooltip in your current game client before discarding a grade or planning a large production run.
Where to farm diamonds: the mapped zones
The October 2026 Aion 2 Atlas data lists 356 Diamond Gemstone veins worldwide in its map data: 156 in Verteron and 200 in Altgard. The data was retrieved on October 12, 2026. The publisher explicitly warns that the pins have not been verified in-game. Veins are shared and respawn after gathering, so a marked location can be empty when you arrive.

Altgard has the higher reported total, and its largest listed areas contain more pins than the largest named Verteron area. That makes Altgard a sensible first place to test if you want a dense route. It does not prove that Altgard produces more gems per hour: the available map data contains no timed route tests, verified spawn cycle, gathering-speed comparison, or yield sample.
Open the Aion 2 Atlas Diamond Locations map for the current pin layout. Treat each pin as a lead. If several are empty, another player may have gathered them, the node may be waiting for its respawn, or the community map may contain an unverified location.
How to run a practical Diamond Gemstone route
You do not need a special “diamond farm” mode. The basic loop is to travel through mapped vein locations, use Essence Extraction when a node is available, and return after the shared nodes have had time to respawn.

- Confirm the material in your objective. Make sure you need Diamond Gemstone rather than Quna or another gem. Check the recipe, accessory, potion, or soulstone tooltip that motivated the trip.
- Open the community map and choose one zone. Start with a compact group of pins instead of zig-zagging across both regions. In Verteron, the map highlights Drana Transport Hub, Aullaeu Village Valley, and Kraka Footpath Wastewater Downstream. In Altgard, begin around Steel Hammer Workcamp, Neglected Crematorium, or Victorious Daeva’s Statue.
- Travel to the first marked vein. Compare the landmark on the map with the location in your client. Because the pins are not verified in-game, do not assume that a marker is exact or that every marker is still active.
- Use Essence Extraction on an available node. Confirm that the item name is Diamond Gemstone before completing the gathering action. Record the grade if you are collecting a particular quality for a recipe.
- Follow the nearest pins in a loop. A loop reduces backtracking and lets you see whether a cluster is worth revisiting. Keep the route short enough that you can repeat it without running out of inventory space or abandoning other objectives.
- Mark empty or misleading locations for your own route notes. An empty vein is not proof that the map is wrong; someone else may have gathered it. Note the time, whether another player was present, and whether the next pass produces a node.
- Return after a delay and compare results. The source confirms that nodes respawn later but gives no verified interval. Use your own observations to choose a return window rather than promising a fixed respawn timer.
- Stop when the material no longer pays for the activity. Check your actual recipe needs and the current in-game trade interface. Do not assume that a high pin count equals profit or that every grade has the same demand.
This process deliberately separates navigation from economic assumptions. The map can help you find candidate veins, but it cannot establish your personal yield, travel time, competition, or the value of the resulting grade.
Is Altgard or Verteron the best diamond farm?
There is no verified “best farm” in the available evidence. A fair comparison can use only reported node count, concentration, and verification limits.

- Choose Verteron for a smaller regional circuit: it has 156 mapped veins, with Drana Transport Hub the largest named area in the supplied list at 25.
- Choose the zone closer to your current activities: travel time, access, combat interruptions, and competition can outweigh the difference between map totals.
- Build a personal route log: record passes, successful extractions, grades, and minutes spent. That is the only reliable way to compare your own efficiency because no source supplies a controlled yield-per-hour test.
Do not publish or rely on a claim such as “Altgard doubles your diamonds” unless it is backed by a current, controlled test. The map’s 200-versus-156 difference is a count of reported pins, not a production statistic.
Trading Diamond Gemstone in Aion 2
NCSOFT’s August 12, 2025 announcement described the trade system as an exchange of items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. Producer Namjoon Kim said:
“The Trade system enables players to exchange items using in-game currency instead of premium currency. After careful consideration, we designed this system to offer the most enjoyable experience for players.”

Read the wording narrowly. It establishes the intended currency type for the announced trade system; it does not establish that every Diamond Gemstone grade is listable, what the market fee is, whether there are level or account restrictions, or what the current implementation looks like in your region. Those details can change and are not specified by the cited announcement.

Before listing a gemstone, open the current in-game trade interface and verify:
- Whether the exact grade is eligible for listing.
- Which in-game currency the buyer pays and which currency you receive.
- Any listing fee, sales tax, minimum quantity, or binding restriction shown in the interface.
- Whether the item becomes bound when gathered, crafted, equipped, or transferred.
- Whether the displayed demand reflects recent sales or merely active listings.
Do not convert the Atlas pin total into a promised market price. No verified gemstone price, sales volume, fee schedule, or farming-profit calculation is supplied by the available sources.
Diamond Gemstone versus Quna
AION 2 Global Support’s September 15, 2026 billing FAQ states: “No, NCoin cannot be used to purchase Quna or other premium offerings in Aion 2. Players can purchase Quna within Aion 2 to make premium purchases within the game.” Quna is therefore an in-game premium balance purchased through the game’s supported purchase flow. It is not a mined material, and Essence Extraction does not produce it.
Use this decision rule:

Neither path makes the other unnecessary. A character may gather gemstones for crafting and separately purchase Quna for premium content, but the sources do not support exchanging one directly for the other.

Real-money trading: what not to do
The AION 2 Global Operation Policy defines real-money trading broadly. It includes exchanging game items or in-game currency for real money or outside goods and services, as well as trading items for items from other games. Buying “diamonds” from a third-party seller, selling your gemstones for cash, or arranging an external swap is not the same as using Aion 2’s in-game market.
Use only the game’s supported gathering, crafting, and trade functions. Do not share account credentials, accept an outside payment promise, or treat a seller’s claim that a transaction is “safe” as permission under the operation policy. An external deal can also expose your account to fraud, chargebacks, stolen payment methods, or disciplinary action. The policy is the controlling reference for enforcement, so read the current version before making assumptions about a particular transaction.
Common farming problems and sensible fixes
The marked vein is empty
Nodes are shared, and the map warns that another player may have gathered one before you arrived. Move to the next nearby pin, then revisit the first location later. Avoid treating one empty marker as proof that the entire route is unavailable.
The route yields fewer gems than expected
Mapped pins are not guaranteed harvests, and no source promises a yield per node. Track successful extractions over several passes, account for competition and travel, and compare the result with your actual recipe requirement rather than with the raw marker count.

You cannot list a grade on the market
The available announcement does not specify grade-by-grade eligibility. Check whether the item is bound or restricted in the current interface. If the client blocks the listing, keep the material for a recipe, sell it only through an officially supported option if one is offered, or verify a newer official item reference.

You are unsure whether a “diamond” offer is premium currency
Read the item name. Diamond Gemstone is a gathered material; Quna is the premium currency. The purchase wording in the official billing FAQ refers to Quna, not to a Diamond Gemstone item.
A seller asks for cash or an outside item
Do not proceed. The operation policy treats exchanges of game items or currency for real money, outside goods or services, or items from another game as RMT. Use the in-game systems instead.
What remains unverified
A careful farming guide should state its limits. The cited sources do not establish a verified respawn interval, guaranteed extraction yield, market price, profit per hour, exact recipe quantities, or a timed comparison between Verteron and Altgard. They also do not provide a current list of which Diamond Gemstone grades can be traded or the market’s fees and restrictions. These values may appear in your client or in later official documentation, but they should not be filled in with guesses.
The most defensible plan is therefore simple: use the Atlas pins to choose a test circuit, gather with Essence Extraction, record your own results, and verify the current trade and binding rules in-game. Keep Quna purchases separate from gemstone farming, and keep all transactions inside Aion 2’s supported systems.
