Aion 2 crafting is a station-based, recipe-driven system. You learn or unlock a recipe, collect its listed materials, meet the required profession proficiency, and start the job at the appropriate crafting station. Success can produce the normal item or, on recipes with a great-success roll, a higher-quality version. Failure may still consume the materials, and a secondary summary of NC crafting documentation reports that a job cannot be stopped once it begins.
Exact recipes, rates, unlocks, market rules, and level gates can change by service and client build. The figures below are therefore labeled by evidence level: MetaBot.GG’s October 2026 global-client table guide supplies the numerical recipe and chance data, while community and third-party guides describe service-specific behavior. Check the live recipe window in your own client before committing expensive materials.
How crafting works in Aion 2
The basic loop has four checks:
- Choose a profession and recipe. The recipe determines the station, ingredients, proficiency requirement, output, and any chance of a better result.
- Obtain every listed ingredient in the required quantity. Depending on service and item, materials may come from gathering, enemy drops, or the player market.
- Meet the proficiency requirement. A recipe can remain unavailable even when you own all of its ingredients.
- Start the craft at the matching station. Confirm the quantities and the exact output before beginning, because reported behavior says a failed craft can consume materials and an in-progress job may not be cancellable.
A secondary guide summarizing NC crafting material says both successful and failed crafts award profession experience, and that higher proficiency improves the success rate. That makes failed attempts costly but not completely wasted for progression. Treat the stop-job rule and success-rate progression as service-dependent until your current client confirms them.

MetaBot.GG’s October 2026 guide reports five professions in the global client. Its internal table names differ for two entries, but the visible English names are Armorsmithing and Handicrafting.

Corpus and MetaBot.GG describe a similar output map, but service descriptions are not identical across Korean, Taiwanese, and global coverage. Use the live profession and recipe labels rather than assuming that an item shown in a regional guide exists unchanged on your server.
Recipes, mastery, and profession progression
Reported mastery structure
MetaBot.GG’s global-client tables describe 100 mastery levels divided into two bands: Novice 1–50 and Professional 51–100. The guide reports an upgrade quest at level 50. Standard recipes are said to unlock automatically as mastery rises.
Those are guide-reported client-table values, not official published statistics. If your mastery panel shows different bands, a different cap, or a different promotion quest, follow the in-game panel for your service.

Standard recipes generally become available through mastery progression. Upgrade recipes work differently: the guide reports that they can require an existing item as an ingredient and may have no separate mastery requirement. In other words, having the profession level is not always enough; you may also need the correct earlier-tier item.

Gear lines can behave like a ladder. A normal craft may produce an improved or Splendent intermediate item, and that specific item can be required for the next recipe. Corpus reports an example reaching item level 102 at a Splendent endpoint, with later succession recipes potentially carrying enhancement, amplification, and Soul Binding levels forward. Item-level caps and inheritance rules are patch-sensitive, so treat that example as guide reporting rather than a permanent global rule.
Great success, normal results, and failure
Some recipes have a chance to produce a higher-quality result called a great success. MetaBot.GG’s October 2026 client-table guide reports 280 of 512 recipes with a great-success chance and 512 recipes total, mirrored as 256 recipes per faction. Its reported rates vary by category:

Do not apply one percentage to every recipe. A Reddit player described “The 25% crafting RNG is absolutely ridiculous,” but that is an individual complaint, not a measured population result and not evidence that every recipe uses a 25% roll.

If the next tier requires the improved output, budget for the possibility that several attempts may be needed.

Where crafting materials come from
Gathering
Aion2Guide’s Korean and Taiwanese coverage identifies gathering as one source of crafting materials. The community-maintained Aion2 Codex reports gathering from early levels. These descriptions may not map exactly to the global service, so inspect resource nodes and gathering entries in your own map and collection interfaces.
Enemy drops
Some ingredients are reported to come from defeated enemies. Drop availability can vary by zone, enemy type, faction, and patch. Use the recipe’s item tooltip and your in-game drop information to identify a practical farming location instead of relying on a regional list.
Player market
Aion2Guide also lists the player market as a source in its Korean and Taiwanese coverage. Market access, listing rules, taxes, and available materials are service-specific. No reliable cross-service price dataset establishes a universal profitable profession, so do not choose a profession on an assumed margin.

Which profession should you level first?
There is no verified profit ranking. Choose by the items you actually expect to use, then check the cost and availability of their inputs.
Match the profession to your build
- Choose Blacksmithing if its weapon or guard recipes match your character’s equipment plan.
- Choose Armorsmithing when the armor slots and variants support your build.
- Choose Handicrafting for a build that uses its reported bows, staves, jewelry, or decorations.
- Choose Alchemy when recurring consumables or the relevant magic-weapon and manastone recipes matter more than a single gear upgrade.
- Choose Cooking when sustained food effects are useful and you can maintain the ingredient supply.
Compare the real cost before committing
- Open the current profession menu and list the recipes you would use repeatedly, not only the highest-level item.
- Record each recipe’s proficiency requirement and station.
- Mark every ingredient as gathered, dropped, or market-bought on your service.
- Identify whether advancement depends on a great-success item or a specific intermediate quality.
- Estimate your tolerance for failed attempts consuming materials before you spend rare inputs.
This method is more reliable than copying a regional tier list. Recipes and profession descriptions can differ between services, and no representative market-price study supports a universal “best” profession.
Why can I not craft before level 45?
The community-maintained Aion2 Codex reports a level-45 gate for the five crafting professions, based on playtest menu observation. It also reports gathering from earlier levels. Because this is community evidence rather than a confirmed global-service announcement, treat level 45 as a reported requirement, not an immutable rule.
If the profession panel is locked, reach the level shown by your current client, check for an introductory quest, and reopen the profession menu after leveling. A service update can move the gate or attach it to a different prerequisite.

“My craft failed and my materials disappeared.”
Chance-based crafting can fail, and the cited guides report that failure may consume the listed materials. Recheck the ingredient quantities, avoid testing with your most expensive components, and treat each attempt as a full material risk unless the live recipe explicitly says otherwise. Profession experience may still be awarded on failure according to the secondary summary of NC crafting documentation.

“I made the previous item, but the next gear recipe is unavailable.”
Inspect the next recipe’s ingredient slot by slot. An upgrade chain may require the improved or Splendent version rather than any item produced by the previous recipe. If you sold or salvaged the required intermediate, you may need to craft the earlier step again.
“The recipe is not showing.”
Check the profession, mastery level, faction or service availability, and whether the recipe is a standard or upgrade entry. MetaBot.GG reports that standard recipes unlock automatically with mastery, while upgrade recipes can use an existing item instead of a normal mastery gate. The current client remains authoritative if its requirements differ.
“Can I cancel a craft after I start it?”
A secondary guide summarizing NC crafting documentation says a craft cannot be stopped once started. Confirm that behavior in your service before beginning a long queue or an expensive upgrade, especially if your connection or inventory space is unstable.

“Why did I receive the normal item instead of the better one?”
A great-success result is a chance outcome only on recipes that expose that chance. Confirm that the recipe actually lists a great-success possibility and check its category-specific rate; not every recipe has one, and the reported percentages are not interchangeable.
A safe pre-craft checklist
- Confirm the profession and station.
- Read the exact recipe name, output quality, and proficiency requirement.
- Count every ingredient, including any earlier-tier item required by an upgrade chain.
- Check whether the recipe has a great-success chance and whether the improved result is needed for your next step.
- Leave enough inventory space for the result.
- Assume materials can be consumed on failure unless your live client states a refund or protection.
- Start only when you are comfortable letting the job finish without cancellation.
What is confirmed, and what may change
The station-and-recipe loop, five profession names reported for the global client, and the need to supply materials and proficiency are consistent across the cited coverage. The numerical values—512 total recipes, 100 mastery levels, category-specific great-success rates, and 280 recipes with a chance—come from MetaBot.GG’s October 7, 2026 guide and should not be presented as official NCSOFT statistics.
Exact unlock quests, item-level endpoints, inheritance behavior, level gates, market access, and profession outputs can change with service and build. When a guide and your client disagree, use the live recipe panel, item tooltip, and profession window for the final requirement.
