Short answer: Abyss Points (AP) are an in-game currency tied to Abyss progression in AION 2. You can earn them through combat, missions, rifts, arenas, sieges, events, and Supply Requests; you spend them in the Abyss Store on progression items such as equipment and, in some regional versions, Stigma Shards. AP is not real-world money. The exact rewards, shop inventory, death rules, and weekly or seasonal acquisition limits depend on the service region and patch, so use the cap indicator and activity descriptions in your current client rather than copying a number from another server.
What are Abyss Points in AION 2?
Abyss Points are a progression currency earned and spent inside the game. They are associated with Abyss activities and rank progression, but they are not the same thing as a character’s ordinary money, a paid currency, or a real-world balance. You cannot use AP outside the game, and earning AP does not require buying a product or subscription.
The important distinction is between earning AP and earning Abyss rank or rank points. Activities can award AP, while some combat outcomes affect rank points separately. A death rule that changes rank points therefore does not automatically mean that your AP balance has been removed. This distinction matters when reading older guides, because they often use “points” for more than one system.

Abyss combat
Encounters in the Abyss can include fighting other players and fighting monsters. These are the most obviously combat-oriented ways to interact with the system, but the exact AP reward is not established as a single cross-region value. Check the activity’s reward preview in your client before assuming that every kill, assist or monster encounter pays the same amount.
Missions and duty-style quests
Guides list missions, duties and other quests among possible AP sources. These are useful when you want structured objectives rather than open-ended combat. Read the quest panel carefully: a mission may have a completion limit, a reset timer, a prerequisite, or a regional reward table that differs from one shown in an online guide.
Rifts
Rifts are another reported route. A rift’s participation requirements and reward may depend on its type, level, schedule or contribution rules. If the client shows no AP in the current reward preview, do not assume that an older rift guide is still accurate after a patch.

Arenas
Arenas appear in route lists, but “arena” does not by itself tell you whether the activity exposes you to player-versus-player combat. Modes can differ. Inspect the queue or event description for the current mode, then decide whether it fits your preferred risk level and available time.
Sieges
Sieges are structured large-scale activities that guides associate with AP earning. Their schedules, participation rules and scoring can be service-specific. Treat the in-game event calendar as authoritative for whether a siege is currently active and what its reward panel promises.
Events
Limited-time events may grant AP directly or through event objectives. Event rewards are especially volatile: an event can disappear, change its currency, or impose a once-per-account or once-per-period limit. Open the event’s own reward list instead of relying on a permanent AP route list.

Supply Requests
Supply Requests convert resources you have accumulated into AP. They are the clearest reported route that does not require defeating another player. A request consumes the specified materials and awards the amount shown by that request, so confirm the cost and reward before submitting it.
Request tracks do not all refresh on the same schedule. One track may become available sooner than another, and a completed request can remain unavailable until its own timer resets. The client should show the relevant reset information; do not infer a daily or weekly interval unless your service displays it.
Can I earn Abyss Points without PvP?
Yes. Supply Requests exchange accumulated resources for AP, and guides also identify missions, rifts, events and some arena or other structured activities as possible sources. Some arena modes or siege activities may still involve player combat, so check their descriptions individually.
A non-PvP plan is therefore possible, but it is not a promise that every PvE activity pays AP in every version of AION 2. The safest process is:
- Open the current activity, mission or event board.
- Look for an AP icon or an explicit Abyss Point amount in the reward preview.
- Check the requirement, material cost and reset timer.
- Confirm whether the activity is solo, group-based, competitive or open to player attacks.
- Complete the activity and verify the AP balance in the currency or Abyss interface.
For Supply Requests specifically, compare the material cost with the AP reward and remember that submitting a request is an exchange: the resources are spent even when the AP cap prevents you from receiving more acquisition credit.
Which AP earning route should I choose?
No reviewed source establishes a universal numeric efficiency ranking. A route that is efficient on one service can be limited, unavailable or differently rewarded on another. Use these practical comparison axes instead.

| Route | PvP exposure | Time or reset limits | Uses accumulated materials? | What is established |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Abyss combat | May include PvP or monster combat | Not stated universally | No material exchange is established | Guides list player and monster encounters as possible AP sources |
| Missions and duties | Usually determined by the mission | May have objectives, prerequisites or resets | Not stated universally | Listed as possible structured sources |
| Rifts | Depends on the rift and service | May be schedule- or entry-limited | Not stated universally | Listed as a possible AP route |
| Arenas | Mode-dependent; inspect the queue description | May follow activity schedules or entries | Not stated universally | Listed by guides, with no universal payout |
| Sieges | Often competitive; confirm the current rules | Event or calendar-based | Not stated universally | Reported as a possible source |
| Events | Varies by event | Usually limited to the event period or objective reset | Varies | Event rewards can include AP, but are temporary |
| Supply Requests | No player defeat is required | Tracks have different refresh schedules | Yes; specified resources are exchanged | Reported as a non-PvP AP route |
If you avoid PvP, start with Supply Requests and the current mission, rift and event boards. If you are comfortable with competitive activities, compare the visible reward and reset information rather than assuming that a siege or arena is always the fastest option.
What can I spend Abyss Points on?
AP is spent in the Abyss Store on in-game progression goods. Equipment and other shop items are documented uses. A recent regional guide also lists Stigma Shards and additional goods, but that inventory and its prices should not be treated as universal: the shop can differ between Korea, Taiwan, Global and other services, and can change with a patch.
Before spending, open the store in your client and verify four details:

- Whether the purchase is permanent, bind-on-pickup, consumable or exchangeable.
- Whether the item is currently available on your service rather than only in a regional guide.
Because AP is a progression currency, prioritize items that solve your current bottleneck instead of spending automatically when you reach a round number. If an equipment purchase has a class, level or quest requirement, the store should show it before confirmation.
What is the Abyss Point weekly limit?
There is no verified single weekly number that can be stated for every AION 2 service. Guide coverage discusses weekly and seasonal maximums, while Global rules and values were not published in the material available for this FAQ. NCsoft’s Season 2 roadmap confirmed that changes to Abyss acquisition limits were planned, but it did not establish one permanent numerical cap for all regions.
That means “weekly limit” can refer to an acquisition limit—how much AP can count toward earning during a period—rather than a maximum amount that can remain in your balance. Do not confuse an earning cap with a storage cap or a shop purchase limit.

To find the live rule in your service:
- Open the Abyss or AP interface in the current client.
- Locate the acquisition, weekly or season-limit indicator.
- Read the reset date and the unit being measured: AP earned, activities completed, or another rank-related value.
- Check the activity reward preview before spending time or materials.
- After a major season or balance update, verify the indicator again; planned limit changes can make an older guide obsolete.
If the client does not display a number, use the current official notice for your service. A number copied from a Korean or Taiwanese guide is not evidence of the Global cap.

Do I lose Abyss Points when I die?
Death rules are service- and patch-specific. A guide covering the Korean service reports that a PvP death reduces rank points rather than the AP balance. That evidence does not establish the same behavior for every service, mode or version.
Before treating a death as an AP loss, check the post-death result screen and the current rules text. Look for separate entries for AP, rank points, experience, durability and other penalties. If only rank points change, your AP balance has not been reduced by that event. If your client shows an AP adjustment, record the mode, region and patch when reporting it, because that information is necessary to distinguish a local rule from a general mechanic.
How region and patch differences affect AP advice
AION 2 information is often published first for a particular service. Korea and Taiwan guides may describe shop items, limits or death behavior that Global players do not have, while Global values may be absent from the same coverage. Even within one service, a season update can change acquisition limits, reward tables or request availability.
- Region: Confirm the service selected on your account before applying a guide.
- Patch or season: Check the date of the guide and compare it with your client version.
- Activity text: Prefer the reward and requirement panel shown in game.
- Currency label: Make sure “AP” refers to Abyss Points and not rank points or another event currency.
- Reset timer: Use the timer attached to the specific request, mission or limit.
A practical AP routine
A reliable routine is more useful than memorizing an unverified “best” farm.

- Check the cap first. If the AP acquisition indicator is full or nearly full, favor non-AP objectives until the next reset unless the activity is needed for another reward.
- Review Supply Requests. Compare each available request’s resource cost, AP reward and refresh timer. Submit only the requests whose materials you can spare.
- Scan missions and events. Complete objectives that explicitly show AP and note any one-time or periodic limit.
- Choose combat activities deliberately. Join rifts, arenas, sieges or Abyss encounters only after checking their current requirements and whether they expose you to PvP.
- Spend in the Abyss Store with a plan. Verify the item’s price, requirements and purchase limit before confirming.
- Recheck after updates. Season changes can alter acquisition limits, while limited events can replace their reward currency.

What you can safely conclude
AP is an in-game Abyss progression currency. You can earn it through a mixture of combat and structured or PvE activities, including Supply Requests that exchange resources without requiring player kills. You spend it on Abyss Store progression goods, including equipment and region-dependent items such as Stigma Shards. The exact cap, shop contents, payouts and death treatment are not universal; confirm them in the current regional client, especially after a season update.
