No confirmed AI-powered PlayStation crack lets you play Grand Theft Auto VI on PC at launch. The reports behind that claim describe an alleged AI-assisted discovery of a PS5 hypervisor vulnerability and research into running Linux on certain PS5 consoles. A reported Linux demonstration ran Grand Theft Auto V, not GTA VI, and did not establish a way to play GTA VI on a PC.

What the PS5 Linux demonstration actually showed

On 30 April 2026, TechSpot reported that security researcher Andy Nguyen had published a method for running Linux on certain PlayStation 5 consoles. In Nguyen’s demonstration, Grand Theft Auto V ran at 60 frames per second with ray tracing. That was a demonstration of GTA V on a PS5 running Linux—not GTA VI running on a PC. TechSpot’s report describes the demonstration and its constraints.

The reported method applied to disc-based PS5 models on older 3.xx and 4.xx firmware. TechSpot said it did not work on systems updated to 5.xx, and that the setup reset after each reboot. Those details matter: this was not a general jailbreak for all PS5 consoles, a persistent setup, or evidence that a PC can run GTA VI.

What the AI claim refers to

In September 2026, PSN.GG reported that a researcher using the name Jordy submitted a PS5 hypervisor bug report to Sony through HackerOne on 15 September. The outlet said Nguyen stopped his PS5 Linux work on 16 September. PSN.GG attributed to Jordy the claim that he found the bug independently using AI tools. This is a report about a vulnerability disclosure and a dispute around the project; it does not establish that AI produced a GTA VI crack or that a playable GTA VI workaround was released. PSN.GG’s account covers the reported disclosure and project pause.

PC Gamer quoted Nguyen’s public comments about leaving the PS5 scene and his objections to LLM-assisted exploit work. Those comments express Nguyen’s perspective; they are not independent proof of how the vulnerability was discovered or whether AI was necessary. PC Gamer’s report provides that context.

Does the vulnerability mean a PS5 jailbreak is available now?

No conclusion about current usability follows from the report alone. PSN.GG said Sony’s September firmware notes did not say whether the reported vulnerability had been addressed, and the outlet could not determine patch status from those notes. The reporting therefore does not establish that Sony patched the bug, that it remains exploitable, or that a jailbreak is available on current firmware. A vulnerability report is not the same thing as a public, working exploit for current consoles.

Can you play GTA 6 on PC at launch?

The cited PS5 Linux coverage does not establish a PC version or a way to run GTA VI on PC. GTA Corner’s secondary reporting described PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as the announced platforms and said Rockstar had not announced a PC version at the time of its article. Because platform announcements can change, check Rockstar’s official channels for the current release information rather than treating that older secondary report as definitive. GTA Corner’s platform coverage is the source for the reported status.

A PS5 may be relevant if you want to play through the reported console route, but owning one does not make GTA VI playable on PC. The terms “PS5 Linux exploit,” “AI-powered PlayStation crack,” and “GTA 6 PC crack” describe different claims. Evidence for console operating-system research does not establish that the game itself runs on a PC.

How to avoid fake GTA 6 downloads

Kaspersky reported on 9 July 2026 that scammers were using fake preorder pages, websites impersonating PlayStation, and video tutorials promoting purported GTA VI beta downloads. It warned that launched files could compromise devices, steal sensitive data, or enable unauthorized account access. Kaspersky advised purchasing through official platforms and avoiding links from unverified sources. Kaspersky’s scam warning explains the reported tactics.

  • Do not download a supposed GTA VI PC crack, beta, or early-access build on the strength of the PS5 Linux story; that story does not validate such a file.
  • Use official storefronts and publisher channels for release and purchase information.
  • Avoid links from unofficial videos, messages, or lookalike pages, especially when they ask you to install a file or enter account details.
