agc-cli is an open-source Go command-line interface designed to manage Huawei AppGallery Connect tasks from a terminal. Its announcement describes commands for app metadata and publishing, testers, products, HarmonyOS provisioning, reports, and other project tasks, plus scripting-friendly output. It is a useful workflow to evaluate if you repeatedly perform those tasks, but the project’s registry counts do not prove that every listed API has been verified in production.
What agc-cli does
The project announcement describes agc-cli as a terminal workflow for AppGallery Connect, inspired by the convenience of using a command-line interface for app-store management. Rather than repeating tasks manually in a web interface, developers can construct requests with commands and parameters, use them in scripts, and capture machine-readable responses.
The announcement reports a registry of 13 API families and 156 entries. Those numbers describe entries in the tool’s endpoint registry; they are not an independent audit, a count of successful production calls, or evidence that every endpoint is ready for every account. Huawei’s documentation still determines API permissions, required parameters, and business prerequisites. [Createitv’s agc-cli announcement]

How to install and configure it
The announcement describes Homebrew installation on macOS, Scoop on Windows, and release archives on Linux. It says release binaries do not require Go to be installed. Because current release availability and version information were not independently verified, check the project’s current distribution instructions before choosing an install command.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Prepare credentials. Have the AppGallery Connect app ID and Service Account JSON needed for the requests you intend to make.
- Save the credentials. Run
agc auth login, following the CLI’s prompts to register the credentials. - Bind a project profile. Run
agc initto configure the project. The announcement’s example places project settings in.agc/project.json. - Check Huawei’s requirements. Confirm the relevant API’s permissions, required fields, and business-state prerequisites in Huawei’s documentation before relying on it.
Preview a request before sending it
The announcement says requests are dry-run by default: the CLI builds the request and displays its HTTP method and target URL without sending it. Its example uses an app-information query:
agc publishing app-info-query
To send the request rather than preview it, the example adds --dry-run=false:

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
agc publishing app-info-query --dry-run=false
A preview is a way to inspect the request, not confirmation that the call will succeed. Provide the app ID and any other required parameters explicitly. The announcement also notes that some endpoints may need a client_id header. Check the requirements for the specific Huawei API you are calling.
Use the CLI in scripts and integrations
The project announcement describes JSON as the default output, with table and Markdown formats also available. Its localization example runs separate app-information queries for two locales and saves each raw response body:

Adapt the command’s parameters to the endpoint and options supported by the installed release. Saving raw responses can make them available to later script steps, but scripts should still handle failed requests and validate returned data before using it.
Discovery and local interfaces
The announcement says endpoint discovery is available without logging in. It also describes agc web-server for a local REST API and agc openapi for exporting an OpenAPI specification. These options can help connect the CLI’s command definitions to other local tools; confirm their exact behavior and options in the installed version.

AI-assisted request composition
The project presents endpoint definitions and suggested next-command templates as aids for AI agents exploring and composing requests. Treat generated suggestions as a starting point, not authorization or approval: they do not replace checking permissions, the app’s current business state, or whether an action is appropriate.

- Release maintenance: Verify the latest release, supported platforms, and installation instructions in the project’s current materials.
- Endpoint fit: Confirm that the commands you need exist in your installed version and that their parameters match the Huawei API documentation.
- Access and prerequisites: Check Service Account permissions and any app or project state required for each operation.
- Workflow gaps: The announcement says complete binary or multipart upload orchestration and local Hvigor execution are not implemented.
- Operational safeguards: Test requests with dry-run previews where applicable, and avoid treating a registry entry as proof of a successful live operation.
