Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo shifts the series’ “strongest” mantle beyond Satoru Gojo and Ryomen Sukuna. The clearest confirmed successor is Yuji Itadori, who is described in coverage of the final volume as a special-grade sorcerer and the new strongest. The sequel is also reported to introduce a second top-tier figure, commonly associated with Dabura Karaba, but the exact official two-name formulation should be checked against the manga itself.
What changes after Gojo and Sukuna?
In the original Jujutsu Kaisen era, the power hierarchy had two defining reference points. Ryomen Sukuna was treated as the historical strongest, while Satoru Gojo was the modern era’s unmatched sorcerer. Their conflict established the ceiling against which every other fighter was measured.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo moves the story 68 years beyond the Shinjuku Showdown-era conclusion. That time jump allows Gege Akutami to rebuild the hierarchy rather than simply appointing an immediate replacement. The sequel’s “Gods of Sorcery” framing indicates that the strongest title now belongs to a later generation and may involve more than one exceptional figure.
Who are the two new strongest figures?
Yuji Itadori: the clearest successor
Coverage of the reported final Modulo volume identifies Yuji Itadori as a special-grade sorcerer and the new strongest. This is the most directly supported part of the succession story. Yuji’s rise is therefore not merely fan ranking or a comparison based on potential; it is presented as an explicit end-point status for the character.

That designation also carries narrative weight. Yuji began the original series as a vessel caught inside Sukuna’s conflict, with his identity and abilities defined partly by forces outside his control. Calling him the strongest in the post-Gojo, post-Sukuna era reframes him as an established sorcerer in his own right and connects the sequel directly to the legacy of both former benchmarks.
Dabura Karaba: associated with the new top tier, but verify the wording
Secondary discussion surrounding reports that the sequel welcomes two new “Gods of Sorcery” frequently associates Dabura Karaba with the new strongest tier. However, the available material does not reproduce a primary publisher statement that names Yuji and Dabura together as an official pair. Dabura should therefore be described as the reported or associated second figure, not as an uncontested quotation from Akutami or the publisher.
Rank #2
The distinction matters because a character can be ranked among the strongest by coverage without the manga using that exact title. Readers looking for a definitive answer should verify the relevant chapter and the collected edition’s wording rather than treating a headline or secondary ranking as a formal character label.

How the new hierarchy compares with the old one
| Figure | Era | Status supported by available coverage | Relationship to the succession |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ryomen Sukuna | Historical benchmark of the original series | Presented as the historical strongest | The former ceiling that the sequel’s generation must surpass or redefine |
| Satoru Gojo | Modern era of the original series | Presented as the modern-era strongest | The most immediate pre-Modulo standard for overwhelming power |
| Yuji Itadori | Future era in Modulo | Reported as special grade and the new strongest in the final volume | The clearest documented successor |
| Dabura Karaba | Future era in Modulo | Associated in secondary coverage with the new top-tier group; exact official pairing not reproduced | A reported second “God of Sorcery,” pending direct textual verification |
What happens in Modulo Volume 3?
Volume 3 was reported as the final collected volume of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, released on May 1, 2026. Its importance to the strongest-title question is that coverage places Yuji’s special-grade promotion and strongest-sorcerer status in this concluding release.
The volume therefore serves as the reported publication endpoint for the succession narrative: Gojo and Sukuna remain the defining names of the original era, while Yuji represents the later era’s explicit answer. The second figure’s status is less securely documented in the available public summaries, which is why Dabura’s identification requires a check of the manga rather than a categorical claim based only on secondary headlines.
Is Yuji stronger than Gojo and Sukuna?
“New strongest” establishes Yuji’s position within the future setting, but it does not automatically provide a measured, one-to-one combat result against every version of Gojo or Sukuna. The characters belong to different eras, and the available coverage does not supply a technical comparison of abilities, conditions, or battles that would prove Yuji wins a direct hypothetical fight.
Rank #4
The safer reading is chronological and narrative: Yuji inherits the strongest-sorcerer title after the original benchmarks, while the sequel’s later world treats his generation as the new power standard. That is different from a published statement that Yuji has definitively defeated Gojo or Sukuna in an equivalent matchup.

Why the “two Gods of Sorcery” wording is difficult to pin down
The two-figure claim comes from secondary coverage describing Jujutsu Kaisen as welcoming two new “Gods of Sorcery.” The searched material does not include a directly attributable statement from Gege Akutami, Shueisha, VIZ, or Manga Plus naming both characters together. It also does not reproduce a canonical ranking chart.
Best Value
As a result, three claims should be kept separate:
- Gojo and Sukuna were the original series’ defining strongest benchmarks.
- Yuji is reported as the final volume’s new strongest and a special-grade sorcerer.
- Dabura Karaba is linked by secondary discussion to the second new top-tier position, but the exact official pairing requires verification in the manga.
What readers should check in the manga
- Confirm that the edition is Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Volume 3, reported as the final collected volume released May 1, 2026.
- Read the passages describing Yuji’s grade and strongest-sorcerer status, rather than relying only on a promotional headline.
- Check whether Dabura Karaba is explicitly given the same “God of Sorcery” or strongest designation, or whether that label comes from commentary.
- Distinguish a character’s demonstrated technique and combat role from a retrospective ranking of the era’s strongest fighters.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dabura Karaba officially one of the two new strongest sorcerers?
Secondary coverage associates Dabura Karaba with the new top tier, but the available material does not reproduce a primary statement naming Dabura and Yuji as an official pair. The manga’s exact wording is the authority.
When was the final Modulo volume released?
Volume 3 was reported as the final collected volume, released on May 1, 2026.
Does “new strongest” prove Yuji would defeat Gojo or Sukuna?
No. It establishes Yuji’s status in the future era; it is not a published, condition-by-condition matchup result against either former benchmark.
