An unidentified Indian-origin technology worker says they are preparing to return to India after an unsuccessful US job search that included three interview processes of six rounds each. News reports put the person’s experience at about 15 years—not decades—and describe a possible move, not a completed one.

What the reported post says

Moneycontrol reported on June 28, 2026, that the person had pursued senior management roles in technology and completed three full interview loops, with six rounds in each, without receiving an offer. The Times of India reported the same interview account the next day and described the person as having more than 15 years of experience.

The post was reportedly titled “End of the road, coming back from US.” As quoted by Moneycontrol and Hindustan Times, the user wrote: “Finally made peace with coming back to India. Tried my best to get an offer. Went through 3 full loops (6 rounds each) but did not convert.” The account also included the phrase “Finding Senior Manager in tech jobs is tough, made peace,” according to reports.

These details describe the person’s account of a job search, not a published employment record. The reports do not name the individual, identify employers, or provide dates for the interview processes. The six rounds are reported as rounds in each loop; they should not be read as a verified count of separate interviewers or meetings.

Returning is a plan, not a confirmed move

Hindustan Times reported on June 27, 2026, that the person was considering a return and expected the Delhi NCR job market to be challenging. The person was reportedly hopeful of finding work after returning, despite that expectation. The coverage does not establish that the move has happened or that the person has secured a role in India.

Moneycontrol and Hindustan Times also reported that the person planned to pay off an apartment in Gurgaon and allow two to four years to get settled. That runway and the apartment plan are details attributed to the Reddit post; they are not independently verified financial information. The reports do not explain how the person would fund the period, whether the apartment is already owned, or what “get settled” would involve.

What is—and is not—verified

Hindustan Times said it could not independently verify the Reddit post’s authenticity. Moneycontrol, Hindustan Times and The Times of India all covered the same social-media account, so their reports are not three independent confirmations of the user’s identity, career history, interview experience or plans.

The experience figure also needs careful wording. Coverage describes around 15 years or more than 15 years in the industry. That supports “about 15 years,” not “decades” as a factual description. The account is personal: it does not establish how frequently senior technology candidates in the United States are going through lengthy interview processes without offers.

Why this story cannot answer which job market is better

The user reportedly expected Delhi NCR to be difficult, but the coverage provides no market-wide hiring statistics for either the United States or India. It does not compare the number of senior technology openings, hiring timelines, compensation, or success rates in the two countries. One person’s unsuccessful search and expectations are not enough to show that senior hiring is broadly worse in either place.

For readers weighing a similar cross-border decision, the account points to several separate questions rather than a general verdict: the prospects for the specific senior roles being pursued, whether other role levels are acceptable, how long savings can support a transition, and what relocation and housing plans depend on. The news reports do not provide enough information to answer those questions for this individual, let alone recommend that another person make the same choice.

What the reports establish

  • The Reddit user reportedly had about 15 years of technology-industry experience and sought senior management roles.
  • The user said three six-round interview loops ended without an offer.
  • The user was reportedly preparing to return to India, anticipating a difficult Delhi NCR search but remaining hopeful of finding work.
  • A Gurgaon apartment payoff and a two-to-four-year settling-in runway were reported as plans, not independently confirmed financial facts.
  • The post’s authenticity was not independently verified by Hindustan Times, and the move was not reported as completed.
