Choose capacity for your usual batch
A 1.2-liter kettle is a compact option for one or two people or smaller batches. A 1.7-liter model can serve more people or larger batches, but its full-pot boil time depends on power and conditions as well as volume. The Chefman RJ11-12 is listed at 1.2L; the Hamilton Beach 40869G and OVENTE KS96 are 1.7L.

The Chefman is listed at 1500W and its maker says water heats in about three minutes. OVENTE lists 1100W and says its full 1.7L pot boils in seven minutes or less. The claims concern different models and stated conditions, so they do not establish which kettle is faster in a comparable test. Tom’s Guide’s 4:04 Cosori result is a review publication’s test result, not a manufacturer specification or a test of these other kettles.

Check safety features, materials and convenience
Automatic shutoff and boil-dry protection are documented for the Chefman RJ11-12 and OVENTE KS96. The Chefman page also confirms a removable lid. For other conveniences—such as a filter, water-level window, cordless serving or temperature controls—confirm the feature on the exact model’s current product page rather than assuming it is included across a brand’s range.
Use manufacturer wording for materials. A claim such as “BPA-free” does not, by itself, establish that every surface touching water is plastic-free or support a broader health conclusion. Check the product specification for the particular kettle and component.

What a low price does—and does not—tell you
A lower listed price may accompany a smaller capacity or fewer controls. For example, the Chefman is the least expensive of the three confirmed sub-$50 listings, but its 1.2L capacity is below the 1.7L capacities of the Hamilton Beach 40869G and OVENTE KS96. The Hamilton Beach 41029 is listed at $49.99 and adds ten temperature presets, though its capacity and wattage are not stated in the cited catalog details.
Hamilton Beach’s catalog also lists a recertified temperature-control glass kettle at $30.77 and a recertified 1-liter stainless model at $17.47. These are recertified listings, not equivalent to new-product prices. Its 1.7L double-wall LED model is listed at $50.99, just above a strict $50 ceiling. Confirm current condition, price and stock on the listing before comparing them with new kettles.

Prices and availability: what to verify before ordering
- Confirm that the listing is for the exact model number, not a visually similar kettle with different specifications.
- Check whether the displayed price is for a new or recertified unit and whether shipping or other charges change the total.
