Before publishing a page in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service, verify its content and properties, publication timing, scope and dependencies, permissions, and rendered behavior. The most common scope mistake is assuming that publishing a page from the Page Editor also publishes its child pages: it does not. Use the checklist below for Cloud Service; interface details may differ in AEM 6.5 or a customized authoring environment.
1. Confirm the page and its properties
Start with the page that is actually intended for release. Review its title and content in context, then check the properties configured for its page type. Properties can affect the displayed title, branding, and permissions, and some values may be inherited. Verify inherited settings as well as fields edited directly on the page. See Adobe’s Page Properties documentation.
2. Check the SEO settings your site uses
Review the SEO fields that are part of your site’s implementation and policy; not every field is required on every page.

- Robots tags: Check for conflicting choices. Adobe notes that the more permissive option takes precedence.
- Sitemap: Confirm whether the page should be included. Adobe documents that selecting a page for sitemap inclusion also includes its descendants.
- Structured data: If the site’s page component supports it, inspect the resulting JSON-LD in the page head and confirm that its values fit the page.
These behaviors are documented in Adobe’s Page Properties guidance and the Core Components Page documentation. Validate the rendered output against your site’s SEO requirements rather than assuming that a populated field is automatically correct.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
3. Verify publication timing
Compare the page’s On Time and Off Time values with the release plan. An On Time value by itself does not publish an unpublished page if auto-replication is not configured; a visitor may encounter a 404. If the page should be available immediately, Adobe’s normal guidance is to leave On Time and Off Time empty. Check its publication status and the site’s scheduling setup rather than treating a date field as proof that the page will go live. See Adobe’s Page Properties documentation.
4. Match the publish action to the release scope
Choose the publishing entry point and scope that match the change. The Page Editor’s publish action is shallow: it publishes the selected page, not its children. The Sites Console’s Manage Publication flow lets you specify a broader scope, including children and references. The interfaces do not necessarily expose identical choices.

| Publishing route | What to check |
|---|---|
| Page Editor | Use for the selected page when its child pages do not also need publishing. Child pages are not published automatically. |
| Sites Console: Manage Publication | Choose the intended scope, such as references or child pages, and verify the selected set before proceeding. |
If parent-child page order matters, include the parent and children in one Manage Publication action. Adobe warns that order is not guaranteed when only children are selected or when parents and children are published in separate actions. Consult the Page Editor publishing instructions and Sites Console publishing instructions.
Check references and dependencies
Confirm that the publication scope includes the references needed by the page, such as assets and tags, where applicable. Do not assume a page-only action has included every dependency. Inspect the references and scope offered by the chosen publishing workflow.

5. Confirm permissions and workflow status
Make sure the person initiating publication has the required privileges and that any approval or workflow steps required by your team are complete. When a user lacks publishing privileges, AEM can trigger a workflow to notify an appropriate person; workflows may also be part of publication. Adobe does not define one approval policy that applies to every AEM site, so use your team’s assigned ownership and review process. See Adobe’s Sites Console publishing guidance.
6. Review the live experience and test important paths
Preview the rendered page in its intended context and validate the journeys that matter to visitors, including site-specific behavior. Cloud Manager offers functional and UI testing, as well as an experience audit based on Google Lighthouse. The audit defaults to the publish root and can be configured with up to 25 custom paths; a root-page audit is not evidence that every page has been checked.

Adobe describes built-in quality gates as checks of AEM product functionality within the context of an AEM application, not as a comprehensive testing framework. Its go-live guidance recommends an end-to-end production pipeline with functional and UI testing. Use those gates alongside validation of important page paths and customer-specific behavior, not as a substitute for it. See Cloud Manager Functional Testing and Adobe’s Go-Live Checklist.
7. Apply your site’s editorial and compliance checks
Use the standards and owners established for your site to check links, accessibility, spelling, analytics, and legal requirements. These are sensible parts of editorial QA, but the exact rules and tools depend on the site’s implementation and policy; they are not universal AEM publishing requirements. Record who is responsible for each review so that a needed check is not mistaken for an automatic platform safeguard.
