The ACMER SM 60W MOPA split fiber laser is worth considering if you need a portable marking head for larger workpieces, want MOPA’s configurable marking capabilities, or plan to engrave cylindrical items with a compatible rotary. The available evidence is ACMER’s own product-page specifications and claims—not an independent performance test—so treat advertised speed, depth, cooling, and color-marking results as claims to verify against your materials and workflow.
What the SM 60W MOPA is designed to do
ACMER sells the SM as a split fiber laser marking machine, with standard fiber and MOPA configurations and a selectable 60W MOPA variant. In a split layout, the marking head is separate from the main unit; ACMER positions this format for workpieces that are too large or awkward to move beneath an integrated machine.
MOPA refers to a fiber-laser configuration that allows pulse settings to be varied. ACMER says its MOPA models support color marking and variable-frequency engraving, and shows stainless steel and titanium as color-marking applications. Those examples do not guarantee a particular color, contrast, depth, or repeatability: results depend on the material, surface, and chosen parameters.
This review is based on the manufacturer’s published information. No hands-on test or independent 60W performance test was established. The cited product information is on ACMER’s SM product page.

How the layout and work area affect your setup
Split head for large or fixed items
A split machine may be useful when the object is too large to place inside a conventional enclosed marking area or cannot be moved easily. The trade-off is that you need a stable way to position the head and workpiece, maintain focus, and control the marking area. Confirm the working distance and practical clearance for your intended objects before buying; the listed field size alone does not establish how easily a particular part can be positioned.

Choose the field size for the job
The listed standard field is 175 × 175 mm, while ACMER presents 150 × 150 mm, 200 × 200 mm, and 300 × 300 mm as expandable options. Ask which lens and configuration are included in the selected 60W package and whether changing field size affects resolution, working distance, or setup. Do not assume a larger field is included in the base price.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsRotary engraving requires a compatible accessory
ACMER says rotary or chuck attachments can be used for cylindrical engraving, but the page does not establish the exact compatible model for every SM 60W MOPA configuration. If tumblers, pipes, or other round parts are central to your work, verify the accessory model, connection, supported dimensions, and setup requirements with ACMER before ordering.

What performance claims do—and do not—establish
Speed and deep engraving
ACMER lists a maximum marking speed of up to 10,000 mm/s and advertises engraving up to 6 mm deep. The page does not document an independent 60W test protocol for these figures. A maximum speed is not a promise of finished-part throughput: material, artwork, desired contrast, pass count, and settings all matter. Treat the depth figure as a manufacturer claim, not a verified result for a specific material or job.
Cutting examples are based on a different power rating
ACMER states that its cutting demonstrations use a 100W MOPA module and that results vary by material and settings. Those demonstrations are not evidence of what the 60W model can cut, and the available information does not establish cutting performance for the 60W configuration.

Cooling and customer testimonials
ACMER claims 2× better cooling than integrated models, but the product page gives no measurement method for that comparison. The page also hosts two customer reviews, including accounts of stainless-steel marking and color marking on stainless steel and black marking on aluminum. These are seller-hosted testimonials, not controlled tests or independently verified outcomes.
Software, safety, and package details to confirm
ACMER says LightBurn and BslApp are supported on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Before purchase, confirm the software version, included files or license requirements, and whether your computer and workflow are compatible with the selected configuration.

ACMER says the package includes OD7+ glasses for a 1064 nm laser. The product page does not provide an independent assessment of those glasses or establish that they meet every installation’s operating requirements. Verify the required wavelength protection and suitable optical density for your specific machine and setup. Do not assume generic eyewear is adequate.
Price, stock, and terms are variant- and region-dependent
When ACMER’s US page was accessed on October 7, 2026, it displayed a $1,799–$3,699 range across product variants and an out-of-stock message; it did not clearly identify the price of the selected 60W MOPA configuration. The page also displayed a 5% promotional code, whose terms and availability may change. Check the exact variant’s checkout price and stock before ordering.
The same page header stated US free shipping, taxes included, 30-day returns, and a warranty of up to two years. These terms may depend on region and eligibility, so confirm the conditions that apply to your order, including shipping, taxes, warranty coverage, and return rules.

Who should consider it—and what to verify first
The SM 60W MOPA may fit a buyer who values a separated marking head, wants a MOPA configuration, and has confirmed that its field size, software, and accessory options suit the work. It is harder to recommend on performance alone because the available evidence does not independently establish 60W marking speed, deep-engraving results, cooling advantage, or repeatability.
Quick Recap
- Confirm the order is specifically for the 60W MOPA split configuration, not another power or laser variant.
- Get the exact price, stock status, shipping, tax, warranty, and return terms for your region.
- Verify whether the chosen working area is included or requires an upgrade, and ask what lens and working distance accompany it.
- For cylindrical parts, confirm the rotary or chuck model is compatible with the selected machine.
- Ask for examples or test samples on your own material and finish, especially if color, contrast, or depth is critical.
- Confirm software requirements and the safety equipment required for your installation and operating conditions.
