Choose the Acer Iconia Tab 12 5G if screen size and sharpness matter most; choose the Acer Iconia Tab 11 if you will carry the tablet frequently. Acer India lists the Tab 12 with a 12.2-inch, 1600 × 2400 display and a 635 g weight, while the Tab 11 has a 10.95-inch, 1200 × 1920 display and weighs 500 g. Both listings show 90 Hz IPS panels, Android 16, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and advertised 5G calling.
The figures and prices below describe the India listings accessed on October 13, 2026. Regional versions may differ, and the listings do not establish carrier-band compatibility worldwide. Check the exact local SKU, supported bands, taxes, warranty and live stock before paying.
At a glance: Tab 11 versus Tab 12 5G
These are not two radically different platform designs. On Acer’s India product pages, they share the same listed operating system, memory, storage capacity, refresh rate, brightness rating and processor designation. The purchase decision therefore turns mainly on the display-to-portability trade-off, followed by your local price and cellular compatibility.

The Tab 12’s listed resolution contains 3.84 million pixels, compared with 2.304 million on the Tab 11—about 67% more pixels, calculated from Acer’s stated resolutions. Its panel is also 1.25 inches larger diagonally. The Tab 11 is 135 g lighter, a difference you can feel when holding it one-handed or carrying it with other equipment.

What the larger Tab 12 screen changes
More room for documents and split-screen work
The 12.2-inch panel gives webpages, spreadsheets, PDFs and two-app layouts more physical area. A document can remain readable at a comfortable zoom while leaving room for a notes or reference app. This is useful for study, travel planning, sheet music, remote dashboards and any task where constant scrolling is tiring.
The 1600 × 2400 resolution also provides more detail than the Tab 11’s 1200 × 1920 panel. That advantage is most apparent in fine text, detailed diagrams and high-resolution photographs. It does not make every app sharper automatically: an app that renders at a low internal resolution will still look limited, and Android’s scaling settings affect how much content fits on screen.
Similar motion and brightness claims
Both India listings specify a 90 Hz IPS display and 450 nits. A 90 Hz panel can make scrolling and compatible animations look smoother than a 60 Hz screen, but it does not guarantee identical touch response, color calibration or outdoor readability. The 450-nit figure is a manufacturer listing specification, not an independent measurement under a standardized test. Neither page supplies a laboratory comparison of contrast, color coverage or sustained outdoor brightness.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The resolutions imply different screen proportions: 1200:1920 is approximately 16:10, while 1600:2400 is approximately 2:3. Video with a fixed aspect ratio may show different letterboxing, and apps may place controls differently. The larger diagonal does not mean every image becomes proportionally larger; the app’s layout and the content’s aspect ratio still determine the result.
How to choose the screen in person
If possible, open the same PDF, browser page and video on both tablets at the retailer. Compare default text size, the amount of a spreadsheet visible without zooming and whether your preferred apps support landscape split-screen layouts. A larger panel is not automatically easier to use if its extra size forces awkward hand positions or if a heavy case adds still more weight.
Why the Tab 11 is easier to carry
Weight and handling
Acer lists the Tab 11 at 500 g and the Tab 12 at 635 g. The 135 g gap is about 27% relative to the Tab 11’s listed weight. In a stand, on a desk or in a keyboard case, that difference may not matter. Held for a long reading session, carried between classes or packed alongside a laptop, it can influence comfort and bag weight.
The smaller 10.95-inch body is also easier to fit into narrow sleeves and smaller bags, although Acer’s supplied material does not provide complete dimensions. Do not assume that a case made for one model fits the other; verify model-specific cut-outs and measurements.

Choose the Tab 11 when your routine involves handheld reading, frequent commuting, field notes, recipes in a kitchen or children sharing the device. Its 500 g listed weight reduces the penalty of picking it up repeatedly. You give up display area and resolution, so inspect the fonts and controls in the apps you use most before deciding.

Remember that the tablet is only part of the carried weight. A folio, keyboard, charger and power bank can add substantially to either setup. If you plan to travel daily, compare the complete kit rather than the bare tablet figures.
What both tablets have in common
Memory, storage and operating system
The India pages list 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of internal storage and Android 16 for both models. That common base configuration means neither has a specification-based advantage for multitasking capacity or initial storage. Actual free space will be lower after Android and preinstalled software occupy part of the storage.
Both product pages say storage can be expanded with a microSD card up to 2 TB. That is a product-page capability claim. Card performance, application support and the maximum capacity recognized by a particular card or software version can vary, so treat the card as an expansion option rather than a guarantee that every app can be moved there.
Plan your storage around the way Android handles removable media. Downloaded films, photos and documents are sensible microSD uses, while some applications keep their main data in internal storage. Buy a reputable card and retain a second copy of irreplaceable files; a card is convenient expansion, not a backup system.
Processor listing without a performance verdict
Acer lists a MediaTek 8755 octa-core processor with speeds up to 2.4 GHz for each model. This is a manufacturer specification, not an independently validated benchmark. The identical processor wording does not prove identical sustained performance: thermal limits, firmware, storage behavior and power settings can affect results. No independent head-to-head test in the official product material establishes a faster tablet.
For that reason, do not buy the Tab 12 expecting a speed increase merely because it has a larger name or screen. Select it for the viewing area; select the Tab 11 for the lower carrying weight. Heavy gaming, video-export and other demanding workloads require independent testing that is not established by these listings.
Cellular terminology
The Tab 11 page uses “5G LTE calling,” while the Tab 12 page uses “5G VoLTE calling.” Both descriptions advertise cellular 5G capability and voice calling. The retrieved specifications do not list supported 5G or 4G bands, SIM format, eSIM support, carrier certification or roaming behavior for every country.

Do not confuse 5G capability with guaranteed high speed. Network congestion, indoor signal loss, local spectrum, carrier aggregation and plan limits affect actual results. Ask whether the carrier permits VoLTE on tablets, whether voice and SMS are enabled, and whether hotspot use is restricted. A phone SIM that works perfectly may still be blocked on a tablet account.
India pricing and availability: read the snapshot correctly
On October 13, 2026, Acer India showed the Tab 11 at ₹34,999 MRP and ₹23,999 on sale with an “Add to Cart” control. The Tab 12 page showed ₹37,999 MRP and ₹29,999 on sale with a “Coming Soon” status. These are volatile India storefront snapshots, not guaranteed current prices, stock commitments or worldwide prices.
At those displayed sale prices, the Tab 12 was ₹6,000 more expensive, or 25% above the Tab 11’s sale price. At the displayed MRP figures, the difference was ₹3,000. Promotions can change independently, and a product marked “Coming Soon” may not be orderable even when a price is visible. Check the checkout total, delivery region, taxes, warranty terms and return policy at the time of purchase.
Compare like-for-like bundles when calculating value. A discount may exclude a charger, case or stylus that another seller includes, and regional taxes or delivery fees can erase a nominal price gap. If the Tab 12 launches at a different promotion, recalculate the difference rather than relying on the October snapshot.
Which model fits your use case?
Reading, PDFs and research
The Tab 12 is the stronger fit when you read dense PDFs, compare pages side by side or keep a reference window open while writing. Its extra pixels can preserve more detail at a given zoom. If you mostly read novels, news or short notes and prefer a lighter hand-held device, the Tab 11’s lower weight may be more valuable than the additional canvas.
Streaming and casual entertainment
Screen preference is subjective here. The Tab 12 supplies the larger diagonal, while both models list the same 90 Hz refresh rate and 450-nit brightness. Check the aspect ratio of your usual video services: content with a fixed cinematic ratio can show unused bars on either tablet. The specifications do not establish speaker quality, HDR support or color performance, so do not infer those features from size or resolution.
Travel and mobile connectivity
The Tab 11’s 500 g listing favors travel, but the cellular feature only helps if your carrier supports the exact SKU. Before departure, verify roaming rules, hotspot restrictions, voice support and whether your plan treats a tablet SIM differently from a phone SIM. A microSD card can add local media, but it does not replace a backup strategy for important documents.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Home, desk and family use
If the tablet will usually sit on a stand, the Tab 12’s extra area is easier to appreciate and its additional weight is less consequential. For shared household use, inspect the manufacturer’s current software and user-profile behavior on the specific regional build; the listed Android version alone does not establish update duration or multi-user features.

School and office work
Both listed configurations start with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, so the deciding factors are screen workspace, carrying comfort and accessory compatibility. Confirm that the keyboard, stylus, folio or docking accessory you need is made for the exact Tab 11 or Tab 12 model. The product information does not state which accessories are included in the box.
For office deployment, also check mobile-device-management support, the required authentication apps and the return process for every unit. A tablet can meet the headline specification yet fail a workplace requirement because of carrier restrictions, missing accessories or an incompatible case.
How to check a local model before buying
- Record the exact model identifier. Use the seller’s specification page, carton label or device listing. “Iconia Tab 11” and “Iconia Tab 12” are not sufficient by themselves for international band and accessory checks.
- Match the display and memory configuration. Confirm the panel size, resolution, 90 Hz claim, 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage shown for your region. Do not assume an overseas listing has the same configuration as the India page.
- Ask for the cellular bands. Compare the listed 4G and 5G bands with your carrier’s published requirements. Also confirm VoLTE registration, SMS or voice support, SIM or eSIM type and roaming policy.
- Verify the storage expansion limit. The India pages state up to 2 TB microSD. Confirm that the local manual and firmware retain that limit, and buy a card from a reputable source with a return option.
- Check what is in the box. Confirm charger, cable, regional plug, warranty documentation and any pen or case. The product copy does not establish an included-accessory bundle.
- Recheck price and stock at checkout. A displayed MRP, sale price or “Coming Soon” label can change. Save the final order summary and confirm delivery, taxes, return window and warranty provider.
- Inspect the return conditions for cellular defects. Make sure a failed network registration, incompatible band set or carrier rejection can be returned under the seller’s policy.
Common buying pitfalls
Do not select a tablet solely because a listing says “5G.” Verify the band list and the carrier’s tablet policy first. Do not assume “VoLTE” means every form of voice, SMS or emergency calling is enabled in your market. Do not infer battery life from screen size, processor branding or the Android version; Acer’s pages do not provide a verified battery comparison.
Another trap is comparing an India sale price with an overseas retailer’s price without accounting for tax, import charges, warranty coverage and regional software. Similarly, a case advertised for “Iconia 11” may fit a different V-series or generation. Match the full model code and camera, port and speaker cut-outs.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Names that can cause a wrong comparison
Do not substitute specifications from Acer’s Iconia V11 or V12 announcement for these tablets. The V-series is a separate family; Acer’s May 16, 2025 announcement describes optional 4G LTE for the V11 and different screen sizes and configurations. Acer also announced a distinct Iconia X12 with a 12.6-inch AMOLED display, 60 Hz refresh rate and Wi-Fi 5. Those products are not evidence for the Tab 11 or Tab 12 5G specifications.
What the listed specifications cannot answer
The official listings establish neither a battery-capacity or battery-life comparison nor a guaranteed software-update period. They also do not provide independent measurements for sustained performance, gaming frame rates, cameras, speakers, color accuracy, charging speed, water resistance or long-term reliability. Treat reviews or seller claims about those areas as separate evidence, and look for tests of the exact regional model rather than a similarly named tablet.
The same caution applies to 5G performance. “5G calling” is an advertised feature, not a promise of a particular download speed, latency or indoor signal level. Network congestion, carrier aggregation, local spectrum and plan restrictions can dominate real-world results.
Decision rule
Use the Tab 12 when your priority is a larger, higher-resolution workspace and the extra 135 g is acceptable. Use the Tab 11 when the tablet will spend more time in your hand or bag than on a desk and the smaller display is sufficient. Because Acer lists the same core memory, storage, Android version and processor designation for both, paying more for the Tab 12 is primarily a screen-area decision—not an evidence-backed performance upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Acer Iconia Tab 12 faster than the Tab 11?
Acer lists the same MediaTek 8755 octa-core processor, up to 2.4 GHz, for both India configurations. That does not establish identical sustained performance, but there is no official head-to-head benchmark showing the Tab 12 is faster. Choose it for the larger display, not an assumed speed advantage.
Which tablet is easier to hold?
The Tab 11 is listed at 500 g, versus 635 g for the Tab 12. The 135 g difference is about 27% of the Tab 11’s listed weight and is most noticeable during handheld reading or commuting.
Do both models support 5G voice calls?
Both Acer India pages advertise cellular 5G calling. The Tab 11 wording says “5G LTE calling,” while the Tab 12 says “5G VoLTE calling.” Confirm bands, SIM or eSIM type, VoLTE registration and tablet-plan support with your carrier.

How much storage do the tablets have?
Each listed configuration has 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. Acer’s product-page copy says each supports a microSD card up to 2 TB, though local firmware, app support and card quality can affect practical use.
What were the India prices?
On October 13, 2026, Acer India displayed ₹23,999 sale pricing for the Tab 11 against ₹34,999 MRP, with Add to Cart shown. The Tab 12 displayed ₹29,999 sale pricing against ₹37,999 MRP and was marked Coming Soon. Verify current checkout pricing and stock.
Are chargers, cases or pens included?
The listed product copy does not establish an included-accessory bundle. Confirm the charger, cable, regional plug, case, keyboard or stylus with the exact seller before comparing prices.
Should I buy the Tab 12 for outdoor use?
Both displays are listed at 450 nits, but that is a manufacturer figure rather than an independent outdoor test. The Tab 12 gives more space; neither listing proves better sustained sunlight readability, contrast or color performance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteCan I use an imported model on my network?
Not necessarily. The product pages do not provide a complete worldwide band or carrier-compatibility guarantee. Obtain the exact model number and band list, then confirm data, voice, SMS, roaming and return-policy details with your carrier and seller.
The Bottom Line
Buy the Acer Iconia Tab 12 5G for its 12.2-inch, 1600 × 2400 workspace; buy the Iconia Tab 11 for its lighter 500 g body. Both India listings otherwise share 90 Hz IPS screens, 450-nit claims, Android 16, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and a MediaTek 8755 designation. The Tab 12’s premium is therefore mainly for screen area, while the Tab 11’s advantage is portability. Confirm the local SKU, carrier bands, accessories, warranty, final price and stock before ordering.
