ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE’s Scramble is a limited-time, four-player online mission against NPC rival aircraft. It is not a permanent queue you can start whenever you want: Bandai Namco says it may appear randomly after you return from Co-Op Assault or Co-Op Warfare. Because the publisher has not disclosed exact spawn conditions or a Scramble-specific best build, the practical approach is to watch for the opportunity and prepare a balanced team using the aircraft roles the game documents.
What Scramble is—and how to access it
Scramble pits a team of four players against a powerful NPC rival squad. Bandai Namco describes it as a special online mission that may become available for a limited time after returning from either Co-Op Assault or Co-Op Warfare. The publisher calls its appearance random.
That is the extent of the published access guidance: no appearance percentage, fixed schedule, guaranteed trigger, or manual start method is stated. Treat Scramble as an opportunity to enter when it appears, not as a mode you can reliably summon by completing a particular number of matches.

How to prepare your team
Bandai Namco publishes broad aircraft-role descriptions for online play, but it does not identify a best aircraft, weapon, upgrade part, or loadout for Scramble. Use those role descriptions as a way to discuss responsibilities with your squad—not as proof of a tested winning setup.
Agree on who pressures rival aircraft
Fighters are described as effective at pressuring enemy ace aircraft. If teammates choose fighters, coordinate who will focus on rival aircraft so the squad does not assume that someone else is handling them.

Attackers can earn score across the battlefield, while multirole aircraft can help round out a team composition. These published strengths can inform a conversation about coverage, but the available official material does not say how Scramble scores targets or whether any particular role is required.

Consider support, then build around what you know
Electronic-warfare aircraft are described as supporting allies and disrupting enemies. Online aircraft can be leveled and customized with upgrade parts, and aircraft can gain their own abilities. Those are general online features; no Scramble-only upgrade path or ability recommendation has been published.

How Scramble differs from the other online activities
Scramble is one of two special missions described by Bandai Namco, alongside the game’s two core online modes. The differences that are established are summarized below.

What is—and is not—known about Scramble
- Confirmed: A four-player team fights an NPC rival squad, and winning either special mission earns greater rewards.
- Not published: The rival squad’s roster, Scramble’s appearance odds or schedule, a direct launch option, match duration, exact reward amounts, or a Scramble-specific aircraft ranking and loadout.
Bandai Namco’s official FAQ describes the mode’s appearance as random. Its online overview gives the four-player format and broad aircraft-role information. Neither supplies the missing tactical or access details, so claims about a guaranteed trigger or a single optimal build would go beyond what the publisher has stated.
