The abxylute N6 is a wired USB-C controller that attaches to a Nintendo Switch 2 for handheld play. Its main appeal is a fuller grip and extra controls without moving to a separate controller. Two independent reviews praised its ergonomics and responsiveness, but also noted a slightly protruding console fit and, at review time, a firmware-update process involving a PC.
That makes the N6 a promising fit if you play handheld often and want a more substantial controller feel. It is less compelling if you prefer the console’s original detachable controllers, need a conventional separate controller, or want a firmware process that does not rely on a computer.
What the abxylute N6 does
The N6 is designed to turn the Switch 2 into a more controller-like handheld. The console connects to the controller through its wired USB-C connection; the N6 is not a separate wireless gamepad. Its value is the attached grip and added inputs while the screen remains part of the handheld setup.

According to abxylute’s official product page, the listed features include Hall-effect joysticks, native 9-axis gyro support, two programmable rear buttons, macros and button mapping, three-speed turbo, conductive-rubber ABXY buttons and D-pad, tactile shoulder switches, a C button, and dual linear motors with four vibration levels. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent durability or performance test results. Hall-effect sticks are designed to reduce stick-drift risk; that construction is not a guarantee against drift for the life of the controller.

How it feels to use
In a hands-on review published February 18, 2026, CGMagazine’s Jordan Biordi praised the N6’s ergonomic feel, solid frame, button response, D-pad, gyro, vibration settings, and turbo. He also called attention to its GameCube-inspired purple colorway. CGMagazine scored it 9/10. These are the reviewer’s impressions from use, not controlled measurements. Read Biordi’s full review.
Frandroid scored the N6 8/10, praising how easily the console fits, the grip, responsive controls, and shortcuts. Its reviewer reported no perceptible latency in the sessions described. That observation should not be treated as a measured latency result or a comparison against other controllers. Frandroid’s review also identifies two practical caveats: the console protrudes slightly from the support, and the firmware update process at review time required downloading updates on a PC and importing them to the controller.

N6 vs. Joy-Con vs. Switch 2 Pro Controller
Frandroid names the Switch 2 Joy-Con and Switch 2 Pro Controller as alternatives. The N6 serves a different purpose: it attaches to the console for handheld use. Joy-Con detach from the console, while the Pro Controller is a separate conventional controller. The reviewed sources do not provide a controlled comparison of all three, so the useful distinction is their form and intended setup.

Price and value
When accessed October 8, 2026, abxylute’s official US product page listed the N6 at $59.99 USD and showed $69.00 crossed out. That is a dated US product-page snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or a price for other regions. CGMagazine’s February 2026 review listed a $79 MSRP, an earlier review-period figure. Check the official product page for the live price and availability in your region.
At the listed US snapshot price, the value question is whether you will use the improved grip and extra controls enough to justify buying another controller. The available reviews support a positive impression of comfort and controls, but they do not establish a controlled comparison or quantify how much more comfortable the N6 is than the alternatives.
