AANT Annual Multi-Trip may suit Australian leisure travellers taking several trips in a year, but the key test is whether every trip fits the policy’s duration, distance and cover rules. It allows unlimited trips in a 12-month period, with a selected maximum of 30, 45 or 60 days per trip; the duration on your Certificate of Insurance is the one that applies. Domestic journeys must be more than 250 km from home, and the policy does not provide medical, hospital, dental or evacuation expenses for the Australian portion of a trip. Those limits can matter more than the unlimited-trips headline.
What AANT Annual Multi-Trip covers at a glance
AANT describes this as leisure travel insurance for multiple trips over a 12-month period. Its current product information identifies Tokio Marine as the insurer. The annual structure removes the need to arrange a separate policy for each eligible trip, but it does not mean every destination, activity or expense is covered.
| Feature | What AANT states | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Number of trips | Unlimited trips during the 12-month policy period. | Each trip must satisfy the policy conditions and the maximum duration selected. |
| Maximum duration per trip | Choose 30, 45 or 60 days. | The limit shown on your Certificate of Insurance controls. A trip longer than that limit may not fit the product’s intended market. |
| Reset of sums insured | AANT says sums insured are reinstated after each trip is completed. | This is not a promise that every loss is covered or that unused limits accumulate. |
| Luggage | $15,000 section limit per adult in AANT’s current Summary of Cover/PDS, accessed 2026. | Specified item limits, exclusions and conditions apply; the section limit is not the limit for every individual item. |
| Emergency assistance | 24-hour emergency assistance is listed in AANT’s current Summary of Cover/PDS, accessed 2026. | Assistance availability does not mean every expense will automatically be reimbursed. |
| Member discount | AANT advertises a 10% discount on the premium payable. | It excludes GST, stamp duty and other taxes, may be changed or withdrawn, and cannot be combined with another offer. |

Who the annual policy is designed for
AANT’s Target Market Determination describes the intended customer as someone who meets eligibility requirements, travels for leisure, and takes multiple trips more than 250 km from home over 12 months. It is not designed for corporate or business travel, domestic trips within 250 km, trips beyond the selected duration, or travellers who need cover for conditions or activities that are not covered.
#1 Best Overall
That means the annual format is most relevant when several planned trips fit the policy’s geographic and duration rules. A single long holiday that exceeds the selected trip limit, or frequent short local breaks within 250 km of home, does not match the stated target market. AANT itself advises customers to compare their individual requirements before choosing a plan.
Read AANT’s Target Market Determination alongside the PDS; the TMD describes who the product is intended for, while the policy wording sets the cover and exclusions.

Domestic distance and medical cover are important boundaries
For a domestic trip to qualify under the stated target market, the destination must be more than 250 km from home. Do not assume this makes the policy a source of domestic medical insurance: AANT’s materials say medical, hospital, dental and evacuation expenses are not covered for the Australian portion of a trip.

Check cruise and winter-sports options against your itinerary
Ocean cruises
Ocean cruising requires an optional extra, according to AANT’s product materials. Confirm that the relevant option is selected and appears on the Certificate of Insurance before relying on cover for an ocean cruise.
River cruises
AANT’s PDS summary says international and domestic river cruising is included automatically. This differs from the ocean-cruise rule, so identify the kind of vessel and itinerary rather than assuming all cruises are treated alike.

Winter sports and sailing
Winter sports require optional cover. The PDS also states an exclusion for open-water sailing except when the vessel remains within 12 nautical miles of land. Check the exact policy wording against the activity and route; do not infer that a particular sailing itinerary qualifies based on that exception alone.

The $15,000 luggage figure is a section limit, not an automatic payment amount for lost baggage or an allowance for each item. Relevant item sub-limits, definitions, exclusions and conditions can change what is payable. Review the full PDS table for the benefits you expect to use, then check whether your belongings and circumstances fit the specific terms.
AANT says the annual plan offers a choice of excess. A higher or lower excess changes what you may have to pay toward an eligible claim, so compare the available choice with the premium and the amount you could comfortably meet yourself. The policy also has eligibility rules and terms for pre-existing medical conditions; check those in the current PDS and during the quote process rather than assuming acceptance.
CHOICE’s AANT review page, accessed in 2026, reports a policy age limit of 75 years and a dependant age limit of 25 years. These are secondary-source figures, so verify the current eligibility wording in AANT’s PDS and quote flow before relying on them.

- List every planned trip. Note the dates, destination, trip length, whether the trip is leisure, and whether any Australian destination is more than 250 km from home.
- Match the longest trip to the duration option. Compare each trip with the selected 30-, 45- or 60-day maximum, then verify the purchased choice on the Certificate of Insurance.
- Mark activities that need extra cover. Identify ocean cruising and winter sports, and confirm any required optional cover is selected. Distinguish river cruising from ocean cruising.
- Check the cover you actually need. Review benefit section limits, item sub-limits, exclusions, medical-condition terms and the excess against your itinerary and belongings.
- Compare like with like. If considering single-trip insurance as an alternative, obtain current quotes for the same traveller, dates, destinations, excess and optional benefits. There is no established general price comparison that shows this annual policy is cheaper.
The current product page advertises a 10% member discount on the premium payable, excluding GST, stamp duty and other taxes. AANT says the offer may be changed or withdrawn and cannot be combined with another offer, so confirm availability and the actual quote when purchasing.

What this review can—and cannot—establish
AANT’s product page, PDS and TMD describe policy features and intended customers; they do not establish claims outcomes, service quality or value for a particular traveller. No representative premium or independent claims-performance result is established here. The actual cost depends on traveller details, destinations, selected options and excess, so use a current quote and the policy documents for your circumstances.
