Razer may be preparing carbon-fibre editions of its Viper V4 Pro and DeathAdder V4 Pro gaming mice. The reported Viper version weighs 47 g, only 2 g less than the current 49 g model, while a listing in some markets points to a price of 1,999 Chinese yuan—about $300 at the conversion reported by PC Gamer. Neither mouse has been officially announced, so treat the specifications, price and release plans as unconfirmed.
What is reportedly on the way?
The report comes from peripheral reviewer iitzKami, who posted images that PC Gamer described as appearing legitimate. The reviewer summarized the development with the sentence, “Razer is going carbon fibre.” That is evidence of a leak, not a launch announcement from Razer.
The rumored range includes two existing shapes: the symmetrical Viper V4 Pro and the right-handed DeathAdder V4 Pro. A carbon-fibre shell could make the mice stiffer while reducing mass, but the leaked figures suggest the Viper’s saving would be modest rather than transformational.
Reported Viper V4 Pro carbon-fibre specifications
- Weight: 47 g, compared with a reported 49 g for the current Viper V4 Pro.
- Shell: Carbon fibre is reported, but the construction, weave, finish and whether every structural part uses the material are not stated.
- Price: A 1,999 RMB listing in some markets was reported as approximately $300. That is a listing price, not a confirmed worldwide manufacturer’s suggested retail price.
- Availability: No confirmed release date, launch region or retail rollout has been announced.
Reported DeathAdder V4 Pro carbon-fibre specifications
- Weight: 49 g was reported.
- Sensor: An upgraded Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 sensor is reportedly planned.
- Battery: Longer battery life is reportedly planned, but no capacity, runtime or testing conditions have been published.
- Price and release: No reliable figure or date was established for this model.
Will the carbon-fibre Viper be lighter?
According to the reported figures, yes—but by 2 g. The current Viper V4 Pro is reported at 49 g, while the carbon-fibre version is reported at 47 g. That difference is measurable, yet it is unlikely to change the mouse’s balance or handling as dramatically as a move from a conventional 70–80 g design to an ultralight one. Grip style, skate friction, cable or wireless configuration and individual preference will still matter more for many players.
#1 Best Overall
- 49G ULTRA LIGHTWEIGHT ESPORTS MOUSE — Built with input from competitive pro players, this wireless mouse is 9% lighter than the previous gen and delivers faster, more agile control for PC gaming
- INDUSTRY LEADING SPEED & RELIABILITY — Powered by Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, it delivers unrivaled speed and reliability plus more power-efficient with true 8000 Hz polling and 55% lower latency
- OPTICAL SCROLL WHEEL FOR COMPETITIVE ACCURACY — Uses optical actuation instead of mechanical for more consistent tracking, increased durability, and tactile feedback designed for precise in‑game control
- FOCUS PRO 50K DPI OPTICAL SENSOR GEN-3 — Tracks up to 930 IPS and 90 G acceleration for accurate, high‑speed movement while Frame Sync reduces latency by aligning sensor data with the PC for ultimate precision and responsive in‑game control that competitive players expect
- LONG BATTERY LIFE — Improved wireless efficiency provides up to 180 hours at 1000 Hz or up to 45 hours at 8000 Hz, letting players choose between extended battery life or ultra‑low latency performance
The material may offer benefits beyond the scale. A well-designed carbon-fibre unibody can provide high stiffness for its mass, potentially reducing shell flex. However, those advantages depend on the laminate, internal frame, fasteners and manufacturing tolerances. The leak does not establish how the shell is built or whether durability differs from the standard Viper.
Why the reported $300 price matters
The approximately $300 figure comes from a 1,999 RMB listing reported by PC Gamer, with the conversion supplied in that report. It should not be read as a final price in the United States, United Kingdom or any other region. Import taxes, exchange rates, retailer margins and different launch prices can all change the amount a buyer ultimately sees.

Even with those qualifications, the listing would place the rumored Viper well above the reported roughly $160 price of the regular Viper V4 Pro. It would also make the carbon-fibre premium substantial for a 2 g reported weight reduction. Until an official product page or regional retailer listing appears, there is no basis for deciding whether the extra cost buys better tracking, a more rigid shell, longer service life or simply an exclusive material and finish.

Existing products show that carbon fibre does not have one fixed price or weight. A review of Corsair’s Sabre V2 Pro Carbon Fiber reports a 55 g carbon-fibre unibody, three connection modes and up to 120 hours of battery life, with a listed price of £159.99. LTT Labs describes the Attack Shark R11 Ultra as a carbon-fibre-composite mouse at approximately $93 and the Logitech Pro X Superlight 2c at $160. These products provide market context only; they do not confirm that either rumored Razer model exists or will match their specifications.

What is known—and what is not
Established by the report
- The rumored products are Viper V4 Pro and DeathAdder V4 Pro variants, rather than confirmed new Razer models.
- The reported Viper weight is 47 g versus 49 g for the current Viper.
- A 1,999 RMB listing, converted to approximately $300 in the report, has been seen in some markets.
Still unconfirmed
- Razer’s launch date, official specifications, warranty terms and regional availability.
- The final US, UK or other regional price.
- Battery runtime, polling specifications, connectivity options and sensor details for the Viper variant.
- Whether the leaked shell is a full carbon-fibre structure or a composite or decorative treatment.
Should you wait?
If you need a mouse now, the regular Viper V4 Pro is the only Viper option in this report with an established price and current-product status. Waiting makes sense only if a carbon-fibre shell, the possible 47 g weight or collector-style construction is more important to you than a known price and availability. The reported $300 listing is too uncertain to use as a buying recommendation, and it may not become the final price in your region.
Watch for an official Razer announcement and a retailer listing that identifies your country, warranty coverage, connection method, weight and battery rating. Those details—not leaked photographs alone—will determine whether the premium is justified.
