What kind of game is A Legend of Luca?

A September 30, 2016 developer update says Legend Studio added eight unlockable character classes and 10 new achievements. That statement is historical update information, not proof that the present total is 10 or 18; the current Steam listing’s total is 15. The update also says most achievements unlock new items, making achievements part of the progression system rather than purely decorative badges.
Why a complete achievement walkthrough is not available here
The achievement-statistics page linked from the developer update did not load in the available official material. Without the live names and conditions, it is not responsible to invent objectives such as a particular boss, weapon, difficulty, or number of rooms. Treat any guide that supplies a full list as a community interpretation unless it shows the objective directly in the current Steam client or in an official update.
How to check your own achievement requirements
- Open Steam and go to Library.

Which classes and unlocks are documented?
Legend Studio’s September 2016 update describes eight additional unlockable classes, but the retrieved excerpt names only seven: Paladin, Shaman, Grenadier, Dragon Trainer, Death Knight, Mercenary, and Harbinger of Death. One further class is not identified in that excerpt. Do not treat an eighth name found in an unsourced list as confirmed.

VR requirements and setup
The game’s minimum requirements specify Windows 7 SP1 or newer, 8 GB of RAM, DirectX 10, and SteamVR with standing or room-scale support. These are the game’s published requirements. Steam separately announced that its desktop client supports Windows 10 and later from January 1, 2024, so a computer can meet the game’s old minimum while still needing a newer Windows version for the current Steam client.

Recommended first-time setup
- Install Steam and SteamVR, then start SteamVR before launching the game.
- Run SteamVR’s room-setup or play-area calibration. Legend Studio specifically recommended calibrating the play area after adding Oculus Touch support through OpenVR in a December 2016 update.
- Choose a clear standing or room-scale space. Remove cables, furniture, and anything you could hit while turning or reaching.
- Confirm that both tracked controllers appear correctly in SteamVR, then launch the game from the Steam Library.
- Begin with teleport movement if you are sensitive to motion. Legend Studio’s September 30, 2016 update says sliding locomotion was added as an alternative to teleporting, so you can test the option that feels more comfortable.
- Recalibrate if the floor height, boundaries, or controller positions are wrong. A poor calibration can make aiming and movement appear broken even when the game is running correctly.
Steam lists the title as VR only. A generic SteamVR-compatible headset and tracked controllers are therefore necessary, but the cited pages do not certify every headset model or current firmware combination.

Rooms are programmatically generated and linked during a run, so focus on repeatable habits rather than memorizing one route. Keep your play area boundary visible, check your surroundings before turning, and avoid rushing into the next room until you know where you can safely stand. These are practical VR precautions, not hidden game mechanics.
Prioritize the progression you can verify
When Steam displays an achievement description, use that text as the authoritative target. Record which class, weapon, or upgrade you were using when the event occurred. Since the game advertises more than 50 upgrades, changing one variable at a time makes it easier to identify what helped a run instead of attributing success to an unverified “code.”

Try movement options deliberately
Teleporting can reduce motion discomfort and makes it easier to control your physical position. Sliding locomotion provides continuous movement for players who prefer it or tolerate it well. Test both in a safe, uncluttered area and keep the option that lets you aim consistently.
Protect your save and achievement state
Steam Cloud is listed as supported. Avoid deleting local files or importing another player’s save while troubleshooting an unlock, because an altered save can make it impossible to determine whether the game registered the intended condition. If you experiment with community files, back up your local save first and understand that unofficial tools may not trigger Steam achievements.
Troubleshooting common problems
An achievement did not appear
- Check the achievement description in Steam and confirm that the event you completed actually matches it.
- Make sure Steam is online and that the game was launched through SteamVR.
- Restart Steam after the run to force synchronization, then check the achievement list again.
