ServiceNow’s AI Co-Investment Fund was reported in September 2025 as offering eligible consulting and implementation partners co-investments of up to $100,000 for qualifying AI work—not as a guaranteed grant or universal partner benefit. ServiceNow announced broader Partner Program changes in January 2026, including a redesigned Build Program and a single annual membership fee for global partners, but that update does not confirm that every specific 2025 incentive or qualification remains in effect.
What was ServiceNow’s AI Co-Investment Fund?
In a September 22, 2025 report, CRN described ServiceNow’s Strategic Investment Fund as a source of co-investment of up to $100,000 for certain partner AI projects. The amount was an upper limit reported by CRN, not a promise that every applicant would receive $100,000 or any funding. The report did not provide complete public application terms, award criteria, or an application schedule. CRN’s report attributed the details to ServiceNow’s partner leadership.
CRN reported that eligible applicants were Elite and Global Elite consulting and implementation partners with validated practices. Reported eligible work included proofs of concept, proofs of value, and AI architecting. These are the terms described in the 2025 report; ServiceNow’s January 2026 announcement does not restate those detailed qualifications.
What else did the 2025 partner changes include?
Planned credit for subcontracted implementation work
ServiceNow vice president of partner experience Jen Odess told CRN that recognition of partner-program credit for solution-provider implementation subcontracting work was planned to go live in Q4 2025. ServiceNow’s January 2026 program announcement refers to an expanded investment portfolio but does not specifically confirm the launch or mechanics of this credit feature. Its current operating status is not established by the available announcements.

Other reported incentives
CRN also reported a 5% retain-and-expand incentive for Pro and other ServiceNow packages when a deal included at least $100,000 in net-new annual contract value (ACV), a deployment success incentive worth 50% more for partners meeting specified first-year deployment milestones, and partner matchmaking. These are historical terms reported in 2025. The January 2026 announcement does not confirm their current thresholds, percentages, or availability.
What changed in January 2026?
On January 20, 2026, ServiceNow announced a broader Partner Program reset. The official update describes a redesigned Build Program, an expanded investment portfolio, and a streamlined single annual membership fee for global partners, effective immediately. It does not say whether each specific incentive reported in 2025—including the $100,000 co-investment limit or subcontracting-credit recognition—continues under unchanged terms. ServiceNow’s January 2026 announcement is the source for the updated program structure.

Build Program tiers
The redesigned Build Program has four levels—Registered, Select, Premier, and Elite—plus an Access Tier for aspiring and entry-stage partners. These are Build Program tiers; they should not be treated as a restatement of the Elite and Global Elite consulting and implementation partner eligibility CRN reported for the 2025 fund.

Investment portfolio
ServiceNow said its 2026 portfolio includes Market Development Fund opportunities, with 100% reimbursement for select activities, as well as the Strategic Investment Fund and sell-through, deployment, and specialization incentives. The announcement does not give the detailed qualifications or current application terms for each item. In particular, the mention of the Strategic Investment Fund does not independently confirm that its previously reported AI co-investment terms remain unchanged.
Rank #3
Partner membership fees
ServiceNow announced that a streamlined single annual membership fee for global partners would take effect immediately on January 20, 2026. The announcement does not state the fee amount, so it does not support a specific price comparison or a claim that every type of partner pays the same amount.
How the program changed over time
| Date | What was announced or reported | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| January 21, 2025 | ServiceNow said it had nearly quadrupled investment in incentives and specializations, and announced Now Assist Product Line Achievements and GenAI and industry specializations. Infosys and Cognizant were named as newly elevated Global Elite partners. | A company characterization of increased investment and a set of program announcements, not an independently measured comparison. ServiceNow’s 2025 announcement. |
| September 2025 | CRN reported the Strategic Investment Fund’s AI co-investment of up to $100,000 for qualifying Elite and Global Elite consulting and implementation partners with validated practices, plus other incentives. | Historical reporting on the fund and planned program changes; not complete public terms or proof of current availability. CRN, September 22, 2025. |
| Q4 2025 | ServiceNow’s vice president of partner experience told CRN subcontracting-credit recognition was due to go live. | A planned launch date in the 2025 report; the January 2026 official update does not specifically verify launch or mechanics. CRN, September 22, 2025. |
| January 20, 2026 | ServiceNow announced the redesigned Build Program, broader investment portfolio, and single annual fee for global partners. | The official program update confirms the high-level structure and fee change, but does not specify the current terms of every 2025 incentive. ServiceNow, January 20, 2026. |
What prospective partners should verify
Because the public announcements do not provide application-level terms, a partner considering a project should confirm the details through ServiceNow’s partner channels before budgeting around a potential award or credit.
- Whether the partner’s current program standing and validated practice meet the applicable eligibility rules.
- Whether the proposed AI work and project costs qualify, and whether an application window is open.
- Whether the up-to-$100,000 co-investment is available under current rules and what costs, matching requirements, approvals, and payment milestones apply.
- Whether subcontracting work currently earns program credit and how it is recorded.
- The present terms for retain-and-expand, deployment, and other incentives, rather than assuming the 2025 reported percentages and thresholds still apply.
- The membership fee that applies to the partner’s specific program and region.
Partner counts are snapshots, not directly comparable measures
CRN reported about 2,200 ServiceNow partners worldwide in its 2025 article; ServiceNow said it had more than 2,700 partners globally in January 2026. The figures come from different sources and dates, so they should be read as separate snapshots rather than a verified like-for-like growth measure. ServiceNow also said more than 1,000 existing partners were expected to transition to the redesigned Build Program by March 2026; that was a stated transition plan, not confirmation that the transition was completed.
