Short answer: Choose between these phones by camera approach, local price and support—not by megapixel counts alone. Xiaomi pairs a 50MP main camera with a 1-inch sensor and a 200MP telephoto with a published 75–100mm-equivalent range. OPPO lists a 200MP main camera and separate 200MP telephoto and 50MP ultra-telephoto cameras. Both use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. In TechRadar’s April 2026 UK pricing report, the 512GB Xiaomi was £1,299 and the 512GB OPPO was £1,449, a £150 difference at that time.

Camera systems: one large main sensor or four rear cameras?
Xiaomi 17 Ultra
Xiaomi’s listed system combines a 50MP main camera with a 1-inch sensor, optical image stabilization (OIS), a 200MP OIS telephoto with a published 75–100mm-equivalent focal-length range, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera at 14mm equivalent. Its main distinction on paper is the large main sensor alongside a telephoto that covers a stated focal-length range.
OPPO Find X9 Ultra
OPPO lists four rear cameras: a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide, a 200MP telephoto and a separate 50MP ultra-telephoto. That gives it two distinct long-range camera modules in addition to the main and ultra-wide cameras.

These specifications describe hardware, not which phone takes better pictures. Megapixel counts and sensor size do not by themselves establish detail, color, low-light performance, portrait rendering or moving-subject results. There is no controlled head-to-head result here to declare a universal camera winner. If camera quality is decisive, compare samples from both phones in the types of scenes you shoot—especially indoor and night scenes, portraits, motion and different zoom distances.
Display differences—and a Xiaomi specification discrepancy
OPPO Singapore lists a 6.82-inch display with 3168 × 1440 resolution and adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz. The company also specifies up to 144Hz in some game scenarios; that is not the same as a general 144Hz refresh specification.

Xiaomi’s global marketing page describes a 6.9-inch screen, while its India specifications list 2608 × 1200 resolution and 1–120Hz. TechRadar’s review table instead reports 3120 × 1440 and 120Hz. Because those published figures do not match, do not assume one resolution applies to every market or variant: verify the local Xiaomi model’s specification before buying.

OPPO’s Singapore specifications list a typical capacity of 7,050mAh and a rated capacity of 6,890mAh, with up to 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Xiaomi lists a typical 6,000mAh battery, 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The published capacities give OPPO the larger battery figure, but capacity alone cannot establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use; screen settings, network conditions, workload and software also affect endurance.

Price and availability depend on country
TechRadar’s April 2026 report listed the Xiaomi 17 Ultra at £1,299 for 512GB and £1,499 for 1TB in the UK. Its report listed the OPPO Find X9 Ultra at £1,449 for the 12GB/512GB model, with UK retail availability from May 8, 2026. Comparing those reported 512GB prices, Xiaomi was £150 cheaper. They are dated UK price examples, not guaranteed current checkout prices.
For additional regional context, TechRadar reported an Australian price of AU$1,799 for Xiaomi’s 512GB model and said the Xiaomi had no official US availability at the time of its report. Its April 2026 OPPO report also said OPPO was not available in the US at that time. Availability can change, and unofficial imports may have different network compatibility, warranty coverage and support from locally sold models.

OPPO announced on March 3, 2026, that the Find X9 Ultra would make its global debut later that year, describing this as the first expansion of its Ultra platform beyond China. That announcement is not a guarantee that the phone is officially sold in every country. Check the current local store and support terms rather than relying on “global” availability as a worldwide promise.

Which phone should you choose?
Choose Xiaomi if its camera layout and local deal suit you
- You value the listed 50MP main camera with a 1-inch sensor.
- You want Xiaomi’s 200MP telephoto, specified at 75–100mm equivalent.
- The Xiaomi’s price, storage tier and official warranty are better for you in your market.
Choose OPPO if its camera coverage or battery specification fits better
- You prefer a four-camera rear system with separate telephoto and ultra-telephoto modules.
- You value the higher published typical battery capacity or the higher wired-charging ceiling.
- The model and configuration you want are officially available locally at a price you consider worthwhile.
Before you order
- Compare the same storage tier and, where possible, the same RAM configuration; the listed regional models are not all matched.
- Confirm the exact display, memory, storage and camera specifications for the local variant.
- Check cellular-band compatibility, warranty, repair support and official availability in your country.
- Check live prices and offers: the cited UK prices are from April 2026, not current-price guarantees.
- For software longevity, look up the update commitment for the specific regional model. The launch software versions are reported, but an update-duration commitment is not established here.
Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change. Any price and availability information displayed on Amazon at the time of purchase will apply.
