Smith completed its Hong Kong hub relocation on August 29, 2016, moving its trading office and operations warehouse to separate locations. The trading office went to Times Square in Causeway Bay; the warehouse and operations hub moved to Kowloon Bay. Smith described the new warehouse as 15,000 square feet—more than twice the space previously used by its Hong Kong operations.
What Smith moved in August 2016
In an announcement dated August 21, 2016, Smith said its Hong Kong regional hub was relocating to new facilities. A September 26 follow-up reported that the team completed the move on August 29. The move involved two distinct sites, not a single office-and-warehouse address:

These are the addresses Smith announced for the 2016 relocation. The announcements do not establish whether either site is occupied by Smith today.
What the new warehouse was intended to support
Smith said the warehouse covered 15,000 square feet (1,393.54 square meters), more than double the area its Hong Kong operations had previously used. The company presented the additional space as support for shipping, inventory management, logistics programs, anti-counterfeit work, and functional testing.

In the follow-up announcement, Smith specifically named vendor-managed inventory (VMI), consignment, and rework as programs that required additional space and staff. Those statements describe the capabilities Smith intended to support; the announcements do not provide independently measured customer or business outcomes from the move.
Why Hong Kong mattered to Smith at the time
Smith said it opened its Hong Kong office in 1997 and described the office as its regional base for Asia. Kent Pang, then Smith’s Director of Sales, South Asia, said the hub helped the company provide localized service to partners across the region. This characterizes Smith’s stated view of the office in 2016, not its present organizational structure.

How the 2016 move differs from later Hong Kong changes
Smith announced other Hong Kong facility changes in later years. They are separate events and should not be conflated with the 2016 relocation.

The 2022 sales-office address is not the 2016 trading-office address. Likewise, the 2021 distribution-center expansion was a later announcement, not part of the 2016 move.
