The Xiaomi 17T and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro stand out for different camera priorities, but the right choice depends on your local price, configuration and availability. Xiaomi lists a Leica-branded rear camera system with a stabilized 50MP main camera and a stabilized 50MP periscope telephoto camera; Nothing highlights its periscope camera’s 3.5x optical zoom and Nothing OS 4.1. Neither set of specifications alone proves which phone takes better photos.
Key differences at a glance
| What to compare | Xiaomi 17T | Nothing Phone (4a) Pro |

| Rear camera details established by the cited product pages | Leica camera system: 50MP stabilized main, 50MP stabilized periscope telephoto and 12MP ultra-wide. Xiaomi official specifications. | Periscope camera with 3.5x optical zoom; Nothing describes this as “3.5x optical zoom with zero light loss.” The latter is the company’s product-page wording, not independent test evidence. | Reported price examples | UK prices of £649 for 256GB and £699 for 512GB, reported by TechRadar in its June 2, 2026 review. | Reported launch prices vary by region and RAM/storage configuration; see the price section below. |
Compare the cameras by the photos you want
Xiaomi 17T: a three-camera setup
Xiaomi’s official specifications list a stabilized 50MP main camera, a stabilized 50MP periscope telephoto camera and a 12MP ultra-wide camera in its Leica camera system. That gives buyers three listed rear-camera roles, including a dedicated ultra-wide option. The specifications do not establish real-world image quality or show how the cameras compare with Nothing’s in particular lighting or at particular zoom levels.
Nothing Phone (4a) Pro: emphasis on periscope zoom
Nothing’s product page highlights a periscope system with 3.5x optical zoom. That may appeal if a dedicated telephoto zoom camera is high on your priority list. Nothing’s phrase “zero light loss” is a manufacturer description, not a result from an independent comparison test.

TechRadar reported in its June 2, 2026 Xiaomi 17T review that the phone was available in the UK but not in the US or Australia at the time. Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Xiaomi 17T if its locally available price and storage tier work for you and you value the officially listed combination of stabilized main and periscope cameras plus an ultra-wide camera.
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4a) Pro if the 3.5x optical periscope zoom is a priority, Nothing OS 4.1 appeals to you, and its price and configuration make sense in your market.
- Pause before deciding if you need a camera-quality verdict, a battery-life ranking, a chipset-performance winner or a software-support comparison. The cited product pages and reviews do not establish those outcomes in a matched test.
For another comparison-page view of the two named models, see 91mobiles’ comparison. Treat retailer and comparison listings as a starting point, then verify current local terms with the seller.
