1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsThe FiiO FT1 is a wired, closed-back headphone with a lively, bass-emphasized presentation, wood cups and an unusually useful set of included cables. It is a stronger fit for listeners who enjoy extended bass than for anyone seeking a neutral tuning. The comfort and sound judgments below are attributed to Creative Bloq’s March 2026 review; this is not a hands-on test.
What is the FiiO FT1?
The FT1 is FiiO’s closed-back, over-ear dynamic headphone. It is distinct from the FT1 Pro, which is an open-back planar model. FiiO lists a 60 mm dynamic driver, dual 3.5 mm TRS headphone-side connectors and a weight of 340 g without the cable. The current product page lists black walnut and beech cup versions, so check the retailer’s listing to confirm the finish being sold.
FiiO specifies a 10 Hz–40 kHz frequency response, 32 Ω impedance and sensitivity of 98 dB/mW at 1 kHz (also listed as 113 dB/Vrms at 1 kHz). Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements of sound quality.
How does the FiiO FT1 sound?
Creative Bloq’s review, updated in March 2026, characterizes the FT1 as fun and exciting, with extended, textured bass, clear mids and airy treble. That reviewer recommends it for people who enjoy a bass-led sound and cautions that it is not the right tuning for listeners seeking neutrality. These are subjective listening impressions, not a consensus or a measurement.

Can you run the FT1 from a phone?
Its 32 Ω impedance and stated sensitivity of 98 dB/mW suggest that the FT1 should not require an especially powerful amplifier for ordinary listening. However, actual volume and headroom depend on the phone or other source, its output, and your listening level. No phone test was conducted for this review, so a particular device’s performance cannot be guaranteed; FiiO’s specifications alone do not make a DAC or amplifier a required purchase.

- Closed-back isolation: passive shielding for vocal booths, podcast desks, and loud rooms.
- Velour ear pads: replaceable grey velour and a spring-steel headband, built for years of daily sessions.
- In the box: DT 770 Pro (80 Ohm) with fixed 3m straight cable and 1/4-inch adapter. Made in Germany. Best from an interface or amp.
Is the FiiO FT1 comfortable for long listening?
Comfort is individual. Creative Bloq’s reviewer praised the large, deep earpads, but also reported hearing cable noise when the cable rubbed against clothing. The reviewer described a separate Capra Audio comfort strap as improving personal comfort; that is one person’s experience, not a guarantee that the stock headband will be uncomfortable or that the accessory will suit every wearer.
FiiO lists earpad pressure as 4.5 N ± 0.3 N. Head shape, glasses, fit and sensitivity to pressure can all affect how that feels over a long session, so try the fit if possible.

FiiO FT1 vs FT1 Pro: what’s the difference?
| Feature | FiiO FT1 | FiiO FT1 Pro |
|---|---|---|
| Design | Closed-back | Open-back |
| Driver type | Dynamic; FiiO lists a 60 mm driver | Planar |
| Practical distinction | Closed-back construction is the relevant choice when you want a closed design | Open-back construction is a different listening design and should not be treated as the FT1 with a changed driver |
The available information establishes the models’ design and driver distinction, but not a controlled, like-for-like sound comparison. Choose based on whether you want a closed or open-back headphone, then assess each model’s fit and tuning independently.
Is the FiiO FT1 worth it?
The FT1 is worth considering if you want a closed-back wired headphone, enjoy a bass-forward sound and value the included 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm cables, adapter and storage bag. Its main compromise is that the tuning may not suit listeners who prioritize neutrality; fit and cable noise are also worth checking in person. Creative Bloq’s March 2026 review listed $160 / £140 as its market context, not as a current price quote. Check your local retailer for today’s price, the exact wood finish and its return terms.
