What should households know about islands and progression?
Only one island can be created on a Switch or Switch 2 system, regardless of how many user profiles or game copies are on that console. Up to eight players can live on the island. Some progression tasks are reserved for the Resident Representative, the first player who establishes the island. As a result, family members sharing one console do not get separate islands, and not every resident has equal control over island progression. Stardew Valley and Palia are Steam-listed games worth considering if you want a cozy game on PC. However, a Steam listing alone does not establish that either title offers the same kind of play as Animal Crossing, nor does it confirm current player caps, cross-play, local co-op, or price.
