Check that your exact wallet model supports Find My
MagSafe attachment alone does not mean a wallet works with Find My. Check the exact model’s product listing and manual for Find My compatibility and the iPhone requirements. Apple’s MagSafe wallet listings include products with differing features; ESR identifies its Geo Wallet Stand and Geo Wallet Boost as compatible with Apple’s Find My app. Compatibility for one model does not establish it for another.
There are two relevant categories: Apple’s supported iPhone Wallet with MagSafe, and third-party Find My network accessories. A separate tracker card is another option, but it is not the same as a wallet with built-in Find My support. For example, Ekster documents a MagSafe-compatible Apple Find My tracker card and provides a Finder Card manual. Check the specific card’s compatibility and setup directions before relying on it.
Set up an Apple iPhone Wallet with MagSafe and Find My support
Apple’s supported wallet can be added when you attach it for the first time or later through Find My. It must be a Find My-supported wallet used with a compatible iPhone.

- For first-time setup, go to the iPhone Home Screen and attach the wallet.
- When prompted, tap Continue and follow the on-screen instructions.
- To add it later, open Find My, attach the wallet, tap Add, choose Add MagSafe Accessory, and follow the prompts.
Apple says a wallet associated with someone else’s Apple Account must be removed from that account before you can add it to yours. See Apple’s wallet setup guide for its instructions and compatibility details.
Set up a third-party Find My wallet or tracker
Third-party products may need a manufacturer-specific step to become discoverable. Follow the product manual for that step, then register the item in Find My:

- Make the wallet or tracker discoverable using its manufacturer’s instructions.
- On your iPhone, open Find My and tap Items.
- Tap Add, then choose Add Other Item.
- Tap Connect and complete the registration prompts.
If the item was registered to another person’s Apple Account, that person must remove it before you can add it. Apple’s third-party item setup guide explains the Find My steps; the maker’s manual governs how to prepare a particular product.
Locate the wallet in Find My
- Open Find My and tap Items.
- Select the wallet. If Find My can locate it, the app shows a map location and timestamp.
- If it cannot be located at that moment, check the last-known location and when it was recorded. If offered, enable Notify When Found and allow Find My notifications.
- If the item supports it and is nearby, tap Play Sound. Tap Directions to open its current or last-known location in Maps.
These controls vary by item. Apple’s locate-item guide describes the available Find My options and location information.

Understand what a location does—and does not—tell you
A Find My location is not necessarily live. Apple’s wallet guide says a supported MagSafe wallet shows its last-known location. Apple’s general item guidance says Find My displays a location and timestamp when the item can be located, and that its location updates when it connects to the Find My network. A gap in updates therefore does not establish the wallet’s present location.
Apple says its Find My network is a crowdsourced network of over a billion Apple devices that use Bluetooth to detect an accessory or device and report its approximate location to its owner. That is Apple’s description of the network, not a guarantee of an update at every moment or in every place; features and availability can also vary by country or region. For its supported MagSafe wallet, Apple also describes a notification when the wallet detaches from the iPhone and an option for a finder to see contact information. The setup flow and item capabilities determine which options are available; do not assume that a third-party wallet or tracker offers the same features.
