A MERN VPS gives developers a preselected MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js stack on a root-access server, but whether it fits depends on your workload and willingness to manage the server. HostAdvice reported strong benchmark results on one KVM 4 instance; those tests do not establish app capacity, uptime, or performance on other tiers. The listed promotional prices also require upfront payment and renew at higher rates, while the provider’s product page presents conflicting network-speed figures.
What the MERN VPS includes
The provider defines MERN as MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js. Its offer puts that stack on a virtual private server (VPS) and lists dedicated resources, root access, scalable storage, and adjustable plans. These are provider descriptions, not independent findings about performance. HostAdvice’s reviewer says the MERN stack was selected in the VPS marketplace and installed automatically during provisioning. The same review notes a lack of dedicated MERN documentation.
The provider’s page also lists AMD EPYC processors, NVMe storage, data centers in multiple regions, weekly automatic backups, firewall management, a public API, an AI web terminal, malware scanning, DDoS protection, a dedicated IP, and a one-year domain offer. Treat these as current page claims and confirm the applicable terms and availability at checkout.

The provider’s US-dollar page lists the monthly equivalents and 24-month renewal rates below. It says plans are paid upfront and that the monthly equivalent is calculated by dividing the term’s total price by its number of months. This is a page snapshot, not a guaranteed checkout total for every region or date; check billing term, taxes, offer eligibility, and renewal pricing before buying.

Compare the full prepaid term and subsequent renewal, not just the monthly equivalent. HostAdvice’s own review showed different lower monthly figures; those are not the same checkout quote as the provider’s official page, so use the live checkout for the purchase you are considering.
What the KVM 4 performance tests show
HostAdvice says reviewer Walter Akolo provisioned a MERN VPS and tested CPU, memory, disk, network, and stress behavior. Its review was updated August 26, 2026; it does not establish that tests were run in September. The figures below apply to the tested KVM 4 instance and HostAdvice’s methods, not every tier or customer workload.

CPU and memory
HostAdvice characterized CPU scaling across four cores as near-linear and reported zero failures in its CPU stress run. The reviewer suggested a light-traffic app running one Node process may not use all four cores, while clustering or separating worker processes can make extra cores more useful. That is workload guidance, not a universal sizing threshold.
For memory, HostAdvice reported sequential write at 6,060.82 MiB/sec and sequential read at 7,117.04 MiB/sec. It noted that the tested instance had no swap configured and considered available capacity more important than memory speed when choosing a plan.

Storage I/O
HostAdvice reported sequential disk write at 556 MiB/s and sequential read at 1,084 MiB/s. Its random 4K mixed read/write result was roughly 9,800 IOPS in each direction, with about 38.3 MiB/s of throughput per direction. The reviewer highlighted random I/O as relevant to database workloads and noted the lower sequential write result. These are test-instance results, not guaranteed storage rates.
Network results and an inconsistent product claim
The provider’s feature list says the network speed is 1 Gbps, while other official product copy says “300 Mb/s infrastructure.” HostAdvice reported 983.28 Mbps download and 986.95 Mbps upload in one run, followed by 730.48 Mbps download and 973.67 Mbps upload in a second; it recorded zero packet loss in both. Those two runs show near-gigabit throughput on the tested KVM 4 instance, but the variation and contradictory provider wording mean they should not be treated as a fixed customer guarantee. Check the live product page for clarification.

Stress tests and what they do not prove
HostAdvice reports running CPU, memory, and disk stress tests for 180 seconds each, with zero failed workers in the reported runs. That shows the instance completed those benchmark workloads. It is not long-term uptime data, a production MERN load test, or a service-level guarantee.
How to choose a tier for your MERN workload
There is no visitor-count estimate supported by these tests. Size a plan against your own app and measure it under representative traffic; account for the MongoDB working set as well as Node processes and caches.
Best Value

- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
- CPU: Consider concurrent Node requests, background jobs, and whether you will run multiple workers.
- RAM: Budget for MongoDB, Node processes, caches, and the operating system. Capacity may matter more than peak memory speed for your workload.
- Storage: Allow room for data growth and writes; database-heavy workloads may make random I/O relevant as well as capacity.
- Network and region: Consider latency to your users and the bandwidth you actually need. The published network claims conflict, and the review tested only one instance.
- Deployment shape: A prototype or small single-process app has different needs from a production service with separate workers or several services.
HostAdvice’s KVM 4 results are evidence about that tested tier, not a cross-plan comparison. They cannot establish universal traffic limits or predict the performance of KVM 1, KVM 2, or KVM 8.
Root access, management, and refunds
Root access gives the operator control to configure Node.js, a web server, MongoDB, environment variables, and process managers, as the provider describes. It also means you are responsible for operating and securing the environment; this is a VPS, not managed application hosting. A preselected stack can reduce initial setup work, but it does not remove ongoing server administration.
The provider advertises a 30-day money-back guarantee. HostAdvice says VPS refunds are subject to a 180-day cooldown, upgrades are excluded, and there is no dedicated free trial. Refund eligibility can have conditions and change, so read the applicable live refund policy before relying on the guarantee.
Who this VPS may suit
The offer is most relevant to developers who want a MERN-ready starting point and root-level control, and who can manage server configuration, security, backups, and resource monitoring. It may be less suitable for someone seeking a fully managed app platform or who cannot estimate and monitor resource needs. Make the decision using the full term and renewal cost, plan resources, management workload, and the limits of the available KVM 4 test evidence.
