To manage an existing Managed Paperclip instance, sign in to your account dashboard, open AI agents → Paperclip, then select Manage on the instance card. From the app dashboard, you can connect an AI provider, edit environment variables, restore or download backups, and inspect logs. This guide covers the managed dashboard, not a separately self-hosted Paperclip installation.
Find your Paperclip instance and open its dashboard
- Sign in to your account dashboard and choose Paperclip under AI agents.
- Find the card for the relevant app plan. It shows the instance name, online status, and next renewal date. Select Manage to open the management dashboard.
- Before selecting Open app or Open Terminal, copy the instance password from the card’s Options menu (⋮) or from App details. Both access routes require login.
The card’s Options menu also provides controls to update Paperclip to the latest version, copy the password, reboot, or delete the application. Use deletion carefully: it removes the application rather than merely closing its dashboard.

What the Dashboard page lets you manage
The app’s Dashboard page brings together the instance status and access controls, restart and delete actions, installed Paperclip version, plan name and expiration, and disk usage. It also links to AI provider and Logs.

- Restart or delete: These controls affect the running instance. Choose deletion only when you intend to remove the application.

Connect or change the AI provider
Open AI provider and choose a provider tab: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or Cursor. Enter the provider’s API key, or use Use your ChatGPT subscription and select Connect if you have an active ChatGPT subscription.

The setup guide lists an active account with access to AI Automation apps and either an API key for one of those providers or an active ChatGPT subscription as prerequisites. The documentation does not establish that model access or provider usage is included with the managed application plan. Provider choice is a connection method here—not a documented ranking of model quality, quotas, or costs. See the Managed Paperclip overview and setup guide.

Edit environment variables without breaking the instance
Select Environment to search for a variable or choose Show all values. Use the pencil icon to edit a value, the trash icon to delete a variable, or Add environment variable to create one. The management guide gives these names as examples:

Hostinger warns: “Editing or removing environment variables that Paperclip relies on to run, such as PAPERCLIP_AGENT_JWT_SECRET or PAPERCLIP_TOOL_ACTION_SIGNING_SECRET, can affect your instance’s functionality.” Before changing a variable, make sure you know what uses it; avoid deleting or altering required secrets casually.
Restore or download a backup
Open Backups, select an available snapshot by date and time, then choose Restore application or Download backup. The page’s restore history lists earlier restore actions. Hostinger’s guide says backups appear once daily and are kept for seven days; if no backup has been created, there is nothing to select.

Because a restore changes the application to a saved state, check the snapshot’s date and time before proceeding. The cited guide describes the documented backup window, not a separate recovery-time guarantee.

Open Logs to review instance entries. The documented controls let you filter by text, limit the view to Errors & warnings only, refresh entries, and copy or download the visible logs.

Analyze logs asks AI to review the logs and suggest fixes for issues or performance improvements. Treat its output as suggestions to evaluate, not a guarantee that a particular problem will be resolved.
