On a current VIZIO Home Screen, open Apps, select Home Screen Apps, rearrange the apps, then save. If those options are missing, your TV may use an older SmartCast or VIA Plus interface with different controls.
Rearrange apps on the current VIZIO Home Screen
- Open Apps on the TV.
- Select Home Screen Apps.
- Reorganize the apps into your preferred order.
- Save the arrangement.
These menu labels and steps come from VIZIO’s August 12, 2025 tutorial. The tutorial description does not specify a universal remote-button sequence for selecting, moving, or saving, so follow the on-screen prompts rather than relying on a button combination that may not apply to your model.
VIZIO says its Home Screen supports adding, removing, and reordering apps. To place another app, browse the Apps menu and add it; once added, it can be moved to a preferred spot. See VIZIO’s Home Screen information.

If you don’t see “Home Screen Apps”
VIZIO menu layouts vary across software generations. Identify the interface shown on your TV and use the matching controls rather than treating older instructions as universal.

Older SmartCast Home
VIZIO’s 2018 SmartCast Home guidance describes scrolling to the end of the App Row and selecting Sort App Row to change its order. This is historical guidance; the option is not established as the current path for every VIZIO TV.
VIA Plus
On the VIA Plus models covered by VIZIO’s VIA Plus manual, open the My Apps tab, highlight an app with the remote, and use the manual’s move control to reposition it. The manual also notes that only apps on the first page appear in the Dock. These steps apply to the documented VIA Plus models, not necessarily newer Home Screen TVs.

When the menu still doesn’t match
The available current Home Screen guidance does not provide a complete model-number or firmware compatibility list. If your TV’s labels differ, find the support page or manual for its exact model and follow those instructions instead of guessing at a remote sequence.
