The ASUS ROG Swift PG27UCDM combines a 26.5-inch 4K Tandem QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and unusually broad desk connectivity. Its strongest trade-offs are VRR flicker, OLED burn-in risk with static content, and QD-OLED blacks that are less convincing in bright rooms. It is most compelling for someone who wants high-refresh 4K gaming and also values USB-C charging and KVM; it is less straightforward for a bright workspace or a desktop used for long stretches of static work.
What the PG27UCDM offers
ASUS markets this as a 27-inch-class monitor, but its published panel size is 26.5 inches. The resolution is 3840 × 2160, or 4K, and the maximum refresh rate is 240Hz. ASUS specifies a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time. These are manufacturer specifications rather than independent measurements. ASUS’s technical specifications list the panel and display details.
The panel is Tandem QD-OLED. ASUS also lists 10-bit color, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, a typical contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1, and a peak HDR brightness specification of 1,000 cd/m². Treat the brightness figure as a peak specification, not a promise of sustained or full-screen brightness; ASUS notes peak brightness can vary with pre-calibration.

Pros
4K detail with a high refresh ceiling
Pairing 4K resolution with refresh rates up to 240Hz gives the PG27UCDM a useful combination for games where both fine image detail and smooth motion matter. RTINGS describes motion as sharp in its review. The actual experience still depends on whether a computer can drive the games and settings you use at high frame rates.

Strong image quality in suitable lighting
RTINGS reports deep blacks in dark rooms, vivid color, bright highlights, and strong overall picture quality. Those findings make the display attractive for gaming and video in controlled or dim lighting, but they do not mean the picture behaves identically in every room.
Desk-friendly connectivity
ASUS lists one DisplayPort 2.1 input, two HDMI 2.1 inputs, and USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and up to 90W USB Power Delivery. There are also three downstream USB-A ports and KVM functionality, which can help share peripherals between connected systems. ASUS identifies the DisplayPort connection as DP 2.1a UHBR20 with 80Gbps full bandwidth on its product page.

Cons and important qualifications
VRR flicker can be distracting
RTINGS reports noticeable flicker when variable refresh rate (VRR) is active and frame rates change. Its review says the monitor’s anti-flicker feature does not eliminate the issue. If flicker is distracting to you, this is a meaningful drawback to weigh against the benefits of OLED and high refresh.

Static desktop content carries burn-in risk
Repeated or prolonged display of fixed elements—such as a taskbar or application windows—can pose a burn-in risk on OLED panels. RTINGS advises varying displayed content to reduce that risk. ASUS’s care features and burn-in warranty are relevant safeguards, but they do not establish that burn-in is impossible. For a monitor used for long, predictable office sessions, consider how much static content will remain on screen and whether you are comfortable with OLED care routines.
Bright ambient light affects QD-OLED blacks
RTINGS reports that in bright rooms, QD-OLED black levels rise and dark colors desaturate. If your desk receives strong daylight or has bright lighting, room conditions are an important part of the buying decision; the review’s favorable dark-room findings may not translate as well to that setup.

Text fringing is limited, not absent
RTINGS finds text clarity good for a 4K display in this size class, while noting some fringing around text and windows. It describes the issue as limited at this resolution and size, but readers who spend most of the day reading or editing text may want to judge that characteristic for themselves.

Who should consider it?
- Good fit: Gamers seeking 4K detail and a 240Hz ceiling, especially those who play in a dimmer room and can make use of USB-C charging, a USB hub, or KVM.
- Think carefully: People who mix gaming with substantial desktop work. OLED’s static-image risk and the reported text fringing matter more when fixed windows and text dominate the day.
- Look beyond it: Buyers with a consistently bright room, low tolerance for VRR flicker, or a preference to avoid OLED burn-in considerations. Compare alternatives on room-light behavior, refresh and VRR behavior, resolution, connectivity, care features, and warranty terms rather than relying on panel type alone.
Price, warranty, and package checks
ASUS’s US product page displayed a price of $1,099 when retrieved on October 7, 2026. That is a dated page snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or indication of stock; check the listing where you intend to buy. The same manufacturer material lists a three-year warranty that includes panel burn-in, but regional terms can differ.

ASUS lists a DP80 DisplayPort 2.1 cable among accessories and notes that accessories vary by region. Check the contents of the specific package and your system’s connection needs before purchasing a replacement cable.
Verdict
The PG27UCDM’s appeal is specific: 4K resolution and 240Hz OLED speed, paired with connectivity that can serve a gaming PC and a work setup. RTINGS’ review supports its strong dark-room image quality, while also identifying real compromises in VRR behavior, bright-room blacks, and text rendering. Consider it if those strengths match your room and use; look elsewhere if bright-room performance, static desktop work, or flicker sensitivity is a priority.
