In a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 vs Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 comparison, available benchmark aggregates favor the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5, especially for graphics. But those scores come from a small, uneven set of submitted tests—not a controlled phone-to-phone trial. Qualcomm’s official claims also do not establish a direct performance gap between these two chips.

Which is faster: Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 or Snapdragon 6 Gen 5?

The available results point to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 as the faster chip: NanoReview’s AnTuTu 11 and Geekbench 6 aggregates are higher. Treat that as an indication, not a guaranteed result for every phone. The AnTuTu comparison draws on 10 listed tests for the 6s Gen 4 and only 2 for the 6 Gen 5, and the Geekbench samples are also sparse and unequal.

Qualcomm’s May 2026 announcement describes the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 as offering up to 21% better GPU performance, 20% faster app launches, and 18% less screen stutter. Those are Qualcomm claims, not a direct comparison with the 6s Gen 4. Qualcomm’s 2025 brief says the 6s Gen 4 delivers 36% better CPU performance and 59% better GPU performance than the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3; those figures are against the 6 Gen 3, not the 6 Gen 5. How do their specifications compare?

Qualcomm’s published product brief gives more complete technical detail for the 6s Gen 4 than the reviewed 6 Gen 5 announcement does. The table distinguishes Qualcomm’s confirmed 6s Gen 4 details from 6 Gen 5 details reported by NanoReview or advertised by Qualcomm.

These are platform capabilities, not guarantees about an individual handset. For example, support for a 144 Hz display or a game running at up to 144 FPS does not mean every phone or game will reach that rate. Check the phone maker’s specifications for supported regional bands, memory configuration, display, camera modes, and other implementation details. A 4 nm process label alone also does not determine real-world speed.

What do the AnTuTu and Geekbench scores show?

NanoReview’s current comparison page reports the following aggregate scores. They are database results, not scores from one standardized test of two phones under matching conditions.

Benchmark Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Snapdragon 6 Gen 5
AnTuTu 11 829,894 (10 listed tests) 1,012,134 (2 listed tests)
Geekbench 6 single-core 1,009 (limited submitted results) 1,099 (limited submitted results)
Geekbench 6 multi-core 2,892 (limited submitted results) 3,481 (limited submitted results)

The 6 Gen 5’s aggregate is higher in each listed comparison, but the small, unequal sample makes the exact gap uncertain. Scores can change as more results are submitted, and handset cooling, memory, and software can affect what a particular phone achieves. See NanoReview’s chip comparison and benchmark data.

Is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 better for gaming?

The available evidence gives the 6 Gen 5 the stronger case for gaming performance: NanoReview’s aggregate comparison favors it, and Qualcomm advertises up to 21% better GPU performance for the chip. However, Qualcomm does not frame that percentage as a comparison with the 6s Gen 4, and the benchmark samples are too limited to establish a precise head-to-head gaming advantage.

Actual gaming results also depend on the phone’s cooling, memory, display, and software. The 6s Gen 4’s stated support for FHD+ at up to 144 Hz and gaming up to 144 FPS describes platform capability, not a promise that a given game will run at that frame rate on every device.

Which phones use these chips?

NanoReview lists the Motorola Moto G57 Power, Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 Pro, Xiaomi Poco X8, and Motorola Moto G Max among phones associated with the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. That listing establishes reported chip associations, not a phone’s current availability or status in every region.

Qualcomm said Honor and REDMI were among the manufacturers expected to release Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 phones in the second half of 2026, but its announcement did not name specific models. An expected manufacturer lineup should not be mistaken for confirmation that a particular model is launched or available. What should you check before choosing a phone?

A chipset comparison can help estimate performance, but it cannot tell you which complete phone is the better buy. Qualcomm explicitly cautions in its 6s Gen 4 product brief that results vary with OEM implementation and other factors. Compare the actual phones on the points that determine your experience:

  • Gaming and sustained speed: Look for reviews of the exact phone, including sustained-load behavior, rather than relying only on chipset aggregates.
  • Battery and heat: Battery life and thermal behavior depend on the handset as well as the chip; the available benchmark figures do not establish a controlled battery comparison.
  • Camera results: Sensor, optics, image processing, and manufacturer tuning determine photo quality. A chipset’s supported megapixel ceiling is not a promise of better images.
  • Connectivity: Confirm the phone’s regional 5G bands and which advertised Wi-Fi features it actually implements.
  • Display, memory, and support: Check the phone’s actual screen refresh rate, RAM and storage configuration, software support, price, and availability in your region.
