The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra starts at a listed US MSRP of $2,099, compared with $899 for the OnePlus 15—a $1,200 difference at the base 12GB/256GB configuration. The bigger decision is what that premium buys: a book-style foldable with an 8.0-inch inner screen, rather than a conventional smartphone. Prices are published MSRP figures, not guaranteed current local selling prices.
Price difference and storage options
PhoneArena lists the OnePlus 15 at $899 for 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage. Its listed Fold8 Ultra prices start at $2,099 for the same memory and storage, then rise with capacity. Tom’s Guide independently reports a $2,099 starting price for the Samsung. These are US MSRP listings; discounts, carrier offers, country, and stock can change what a buyer actually pays. PhoneArena’s comparison is a third-party source for the OnePlus and price figures, rather than an official OnePlus specification statement.

What the different form factors mean
The OnePlus 15 is a conventional smartphone. The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is a book-style foldable: closed, it uses a 6.5-inch cover display; open, it provides an 8.0-inch inner display. Samsung specifies up to 120Hz for both screens. The larger unfolded panel gives more room for reading, viewing media, and working with multiple items on screen; the cover display remains available without opening the device. Samsung’s product announcement provides the official display details.

Battery figures need context
The listed capacities favor the OnePlus 15, but milliamp-hours are not a direct measure of how long a device lasts in your use. Tom’s Guide reports 14 hours and 33 minutes for the Fold8 Ultra in its web-surfing-over-5G battery test. That is the publication’s result under its test conditions, not a universal runtime estimate or a head-to-head result for both phones.

- Choose the OnePlus 15 if: you want a conventional smartphone and the lower listed base MSRP matters more than having a fold-out workspace.
- Consider the Fold8 Ultra if: the large inner display is useful enough in your regular reading, media, or multitasking to justify its higher listed price and foldable form.
Before buying either model, check your country’s live price and available storage configuration, as well as carrier compatibility and local warranty terms. Samsung announced the Fold8 Ultra on July 22, 2026. Its August 6 launch release says sales began August 7 in select markets, with global expansion to follow; availability varies by country and retail channel. Samsung also reported that pre-orders for its new Galaxy Z lineup increased by more than 30% compared with the previous generation. That is Samsung’s reported figure for the lineup, not an independently audited market statistic. Samsung’s launch release gives the launch and pre-order details.
