To download mods for Blade & Sorcery: Nomad, open the game’s Mods section and install them through its in-game Mod.io manager. This is the supported, headset-only route: you do not need a PC or a cable. Choose mods marked for Nomad and compatible with your installed game version; PCVR mods are not interchangeable.
Install a mod through the in-game Mods manager
- Launch Blade & Sorcery: Nomad on your Quest headset and open Mods from the main menu.
- Browse or search the Mod.io library. Check that the mod is for Nomad—not PCVR—and supports the game version installed on your headset.
- Select the mod and install it in the manager. If the manager identifies prerequisites, allow it to download them too. The developer says the manager can fetch prerequisites automatically, though it may not display them before installation. The developer’s announcement describes installing and uninstalling mods in-headset and explains that the manager lists Mod.io uploads, separates Nomad and PCVR mods, and filters by game version.
- Check the mod in game. If it does not appear or work, confirm its page supports both Nomad and your installed release. A version filter cannot make an outdated mod compatible: the mod itself must be updated for the game version you play. See the developer’s version-compatibility guidance.
Check platform and version before downloading
Nomad is the Quest version of the game, while PCVR mods are made for the PC version. A mod page should explicitly identify Nomad support. Also compare its supported game version with the version installed on your headset: a mod for an older release may stop working after the game updates.
The in-game manager helps by distinguishing Nomad from PCVR uploads and filtering for the version being played. Still, check the mod’s own compatibility information. Filtering is not a substitute for the mod author updating the mod.
How the Nexus Mods route differs
Nexus Mods has a separate Blade & Sorcery: Nomad catalog. Using that catalog in-headset is not the same as using the game’s built-in Mod.io manager. Nexus has an unofficial Nomad manager listing that describes adding a Nexus browser in game after installing and loading that manager mod. It requires authorizing Nexus access, and its free and Premium download flows differ. Follow the current listing’s instructions if you choose this route; it is a separate, unofficial setup rather than the standard in-game Mod.io process.

Manual installation with a PC
Manual file transfer is an advanced alternative, not a requirement for ordinary mod downloads. The Blade & Sorcery modding guide describes downloading and extracting a mod, connecting the Quest to a PC, then copying the mod folder into the headset’s Mods directory:

Quest file access and operating-system restrictions can change, so check the current headset prompts and the guide before attempting a transfer. The in-game manager does not require a PC or cable.

What about installing Nomad mods without a PC?
Use the in-game Mods section and Mod.io manager for the current straightforward headset-only method. Older community tutorials listed on Nexus describe other approaches, including Mobile VR Station or using a phone. For example, a Quest-only tutorial listing dates to November 6, 2022; treat such videos as dated community instructions, not as the developer’s current recommended route. Nexus’s Nomad video listings can help identify the tutorial’s age and context.
