To stop Avast Antivirus or Avast Premium Security notifications on Windows, open Menu > Settings > General > Notifications. Under Pop-up notifications treatment, choose Silent mode. Avast says this disables pop-ups, alerts and messages, so use it only if you want to silence notifications broadly.
If you only want to stop promotional offers, check the separate Offers or privacy controls first. The right steps depend on which Avast product is showing the pop-up.
Stop notifications from Avast Antivirus or Premium Security on Windows
- Open Avast Antivirus or Avast Premium Security.
- Select Menu > Settings.
- Open General > Notifications.
- Under Pop-up notifications treatment, select Silent mode.
Avast describes Silent mode as disabling pop-ups, alerts and messages. Its instructions do not say that security warnings are exempt, so do not assume important alerts will still appear. See Avast’s instructions for managing pop-up notifications.

Stop promotional offers without silencing everything
If the pop-ups are upgrade promotions or offers for Avast or third-party products, look for the separate Offers or privacy controls on the notifications page. Where available, turn off the relevant app-usage sharing preferences. This is narrower than Silent mode: changing offer preferences does not disable every kind of Avast notification.

Availability depends on the edition. Avast says offers cannot be disabled in the free version of Avast Antivirus; its privacy guidance also notes that the Avast-offers option is enabled by default and does not appear in that edition. If you cannot find the toggle, it may not be available for your product. Check Avast’s privacy-settings guidance.
Use the instructions for your specific Avast app
The Windows Antivirus route does not apply to every Avast product. Avast One, mobile apps and Cleanup have their own notification settings and menu paths. Open the support section for the exact app you use, since labels and available controls can differ between product generations. Avast Secure Browser has separate site settings for website notifications and pop-ups; those settings do not silence Antivirus alerts. Find the relevant product instructions from Avast.

Silence Avast One only while using apps full screen
If you want Avast One quiet only during full-screen use, its Do Not Disturb Mode can silence Avast One notifications when specified apps are running full screen. Avast also provides a separate setting for silencing alerts from other third-party apps. This is a context-specific option, not a global switch for all Avast products. Identify which pop-up you are seeing
- Upgrade or product offers: look for Offers or privacy controls; they may not be available in free Avast Antivirus.
- General Avast alerts or messages: Silent mode is the broad Windows Antivirus setting.
- Website notifications or redirects: change the relevant site settings in Avast Secure Browser, not the Antivirus notification setting.
- Notifications only during full-screen use: consider Avast One Do Not Disturb Mode if that is the product you have.
