2. Predator 5000 Watt gas-powered portable generator: for higher-output jobs
Harbor Freight announced this 224cc model for home essentials and jobsite tools, with runtime of more than 15 hours at 50% load. Pro Tool Reviews describes its tested unit as an open-frame, budget-oriented generator. In that publication’s test, it measured 66 dBA at 25 feet and 81 dBA nearby, and ran for more than 15 hours at half load. Those sound readings apply to that tested unit and stated distances; they are not a general noise rating for Predator generators. Consider it only if its pressure and flow, axial-pump design, portability, and serviceability fit the surface and cleaning task. PSI and GPM describe different aspects of washer output, so compare both rather than choosing on PSI alone.

- For a generator, match the load first. Check running and starting watts against what you will power, then compare inverter output, fuel, outlets, weight, noise at a stated distance and load, runtime at a stated load, certification, safety features, price, and warranty. Published runtime figures depend on the stated load and should not be treated as a guarantee for your setup.
- For a pressure washer, match the cleaning task. Compare PSI and GPM together, then consider pump type, engine, included hose and nozzles, serviceability, storage, certification, and return terms.
