The iPhone 18 Pro Max and Motorola Signature are large-screen flagships, but the choice is as much about iOS versus Android as it is about hardware. Motorola specifies a higher maximum display refresh rate and faster charging; Apple lists a slightly larger display, multiple storage tiers, and a video-playback claim of up to 45 hours for eSIM-only models. Apple’s U.S. starting price is $1,299. A current, market-matched Motorola price is not established here, so a reliable price difference cannot be calculated.
iPhone 18 Pro Max vs Motorola Signature specs
The figures below come from Apple and Motorola specifications, not a shared independent test. Motorola notes that some Signature specifications vary by market; check the local model before buying.

| Battery and charging | 5,200mAh silicon-carbon battery; up to 28 hours continuous video playback; up to 90W wired and 50W wireless charging; reverse charging | Up to 45 hours video playback on eSIM-only models; Apple says wired charging is faster, with results dependent on setup and use |
| Dimensions and weight | 162.1 × 76.4 × 6.99 mm; 186 g on the cited U.S. specification page | 163.4 × 78.0 × 8.75 mm; 249 g |

What the display specifications mean
The Signature has the higher listed maximum refresh rate: up to 165Hz, compared with up to 120Hz on the iPhone 18 Pro Max. A higher refresh-rate ceiling can allow smoother motion in supported content, but it does not by itself establish overall display quality. The iPhone’s listed display is 0.1 inch larger diagonally. Brightness, color, outdoor visibility, and real-world behavior are not settled by these figures alone.

How the cameras differ
Motorola Signature
Motorola lists three 50MP rear cameras, including an ultrawide and a periscope telephoto with 3× optical zoom. Its specification page also lists up to 100× Super Zoom Pro and 8K Dolby Vision video recording. These are feature specifications, not evidence that its images or video outperform the iPhone.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).
- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- When you receive the phone, insert a SIM card from a compatible carrier. Then, turn it on, connect to Wi-Fi, and follow the on screen prompts to activate service.
- The device does not come with headphones or a SIM card. It does include a generic (Mfi certified) charger and charging cable.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
iPhone 18 Pro Max
Apple highlights a 48MP Fusion main camera with variable aperture and controls for aperture, shutter speed, and white balance. The official information cited here does not provide a directly comparable set of camera test results for the two phones. Megapixel counts and feature lists alone cannot determine which camera produces better results; consider the focal lengths and controls you use, and look for samples from the kind of photography you do.
Battery life and charging are not a head-to-head result
Motorola lists a 5,200mAh battery and up to 28 hours of continuous video playback. Apple claims up to 45 hours of video playback for eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro Max models and notes that battery results vary with use, configuration, network, and other factors. The companies’ figures do not establish which phone lasts longer: they are manufacturer claims, and the available information does not show a shared test protocol.

On charging, Motorola specifies up to 90W wired and 50W wireless charging, as well as reverse charging. Apple says the iPhone supports faster wired charging, but the cited information does not give a matching wattage figure for a direct comparison. Charging speed in practice can depend on the charger and other conditions.

Performance and software
The Signature runs Android 16 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while the iPhone runs iOS 27 with Apple’s A20 Pro. That makes operating system and ecosystem a central decision: consider the apps, services, accessories, and other devices you rely on. The listed processors do not provide a direct performance ranking.

Apple says the A20 Pro and a redesigned vapor chamber enable up to a 40 percent sustained-performance gain over iPhone 17 Pro. That is Apple’s comparison with the previous iPhone generation, not a measured result against the Motorola Signature.
Size, weight, and durability
On the cited U.S. Motorola specification page, the Signature weighs 186g; Apple lists the iPhone at 249g. The listed Signature is also thinner. Motorola cautions that specifications may vary by market, so verify the local model’s dimensions and weight.

The manufacturers list different durability information: Motorola gives IP69/IP68 and MIL-STD 810H, while Apple specifies IP68 tested up to 6 meters for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. Those labels and test conditions are not equivalent guarantees. They do not establish how either phone will fare in every accident or environment.

The cited Motorola source is a specification page, not a retail listing, and does not establish a current Signature price. Therefore, there is no supported price difference to report. For a useful comparison, check current prices in the same country, match storage as closely as possible, and compare the same sales channel—such as unlocked retail with unlocked retail—rather than mixing a carrier-financed offer with a full retail price. Include taxes and any offer conditions consistently.
Quick Recap
Which phone fits your priorities?
- Choose based on ecosystem first: The Signature is the Android option; the iPhone 18 Pro Max runs iOS. Your existing devices and services may matter more than an isolated specification.
- Look to the Signature’s listed hardware if a 165Hz display specification, a dedicated 3× optical telephoto camera, or the stated high wired and wireless charging rates matter to you.
- Look to the iPhone’s listed features if you want Apple’s variable-aperture main camera and controls, its available storage range up to 2TB, or a lighter-weight importance than the Signature’s?
- Compare real camera and battery evidence carefully: The published specifications do not provide independent, common-protocol tests establishing a camera, performance, or endurance winner.
- Verify before purchase: Confirm the Signature’s local configuration and network bands, and check current prices for comparable storage and sales channels.
